Manchester United hold a 1-0 lead at the break over Norwich City in their Premier League clash. It took time for the game to get going, but once it did it was a lively affair. Juan Mata provided the source of inspiration to open up the Canaries' backline with a perfect cross to the back post for Marcus Rashford to break the deadlock, steering the ball past Tim Krul from close range. Fred, Andreas Pereira and Rashford all had attempts in and around the box to extend United's advantage, but they were unable to beat Krul. Norwich almost hit back before the break on a brisk counter, but Todd Cantwell saw his curling strike well saved by David de Gea. There's still work to be done by United this afternoon.

Manchester United have won eight of their last 10 home league games against Norwich (D1 L1), though they did lose the last time they faced at Old Trafford (1-2 in December 2015).
Norwich are still without Teemu Pukki, who has a hamstring injury. Idah continues to lead the line after his hat-trick last time out against Preston. Krul returns between the sticks to replace Michael McGovern, who does not even have a place on the bench this afternoon. Hanley and Aarons start in the back four, while Byram switches to left-back. Tetty and Vrancic sit in front of the back four, while Buendia and McLean join Cantwell in providing support for Idah in the final third.
United have made four changes to their side from their defeat to Manchester City during the week. Maguire is back into the side at centre-back after recovering from a hip problem. Matic, Mata and Martial are all recalled into the starting line-up as James drops to the bench along with Jones. However, there's no place in the squad for Jesse Lingard.

Norwich overcame Preston North End in the third round of the FA Cup last time out to advance in the competition. However, they're in a desperate battle to remain in the Premier League, starting the afternoon seven points adrift of safety. Daniel Farke's men are winless in their last eight matches in the top flight, with their last win coming against Everton in November. The Canaries have drawn their last two Premier League outings against Tottenham and Crystal Palace and that will give them confidence heading into today's contest.
After a decent spell over the Christmas period, United are in need of a response after suffering a three-match winless run since the turn of the year. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men were beaten 2-0 by Arsenal before drawing on the road against Wolves in the FA Cup. The Red Devils were dismantled by Manchester City during the week in the first leg of their EFL Cup semi-final clash, leaving them with a huge challenge to overturn the deficit on the road. Solskjaer needs a performance from his team this afternoon and the pressure will be on them to prove a point against the Premier League's bottom club.
Good afternoon and welcome to the live commentary of the Premier League clash between Manchester United and Norwich City at Old Trafford.
