Thank you for joining our coverage, we hope you enjoyed the game. Until next time, goodbye!
Manchester United travel to face Burnley at Turf Moor next, while Newcastle host Everton at St James' Park.
There goes the full-time whistle! Solskjaer's side came back from Matty Longstaff's opening strike to blow Newcastle away as Greenwood, Rashford and a Martial brace put the Magpies to the sword. The result takes the Red Devils to within four points of the top four after Chelsea were beaten by Southampton earlier today. It finishes 4-1 to Manchester United!
90' + 3' FULL-TIME: MANCHESTER UNITED 4-1 NEWCASTLE UNITED
90' + 1' Newcastle have barely touched the ball in the last couple of minutes as United work it around and stretch the Magpies.
89' Fred takes on an ambitious effort from distance but leans back and sends it high over the bar.
E. Krafth
F. Schär
88' Schar is replaced by Krafth in the closing stages of the game. Newcastle now have three right-backs on the pitch.
85' BLOCK! Greenwood is crowded out on the edge of the box and lays it back to Pogba, who sweeps a pass wide to Shaw on the left. The full-back strikes at goal, but it deflects up off a defender and Dubravka holds on as it loops towards the target.
83' United are in complete control, working the ball around at their own pace and playing with confidence.
D. Yedlin
Yellow Card
81' Yedlin goes into the book for simulation after going to ground under virtually no contact from Lingard.
80' Shaw swings in an excellent cross from the left that Pogba races into the box to meet, but it's just a little too far ahead of him and he can't steer it on target.
79' SAVE! Maguire ambles forward from the back, cuts onto his right and curls an effort towards the top-left corner that Dubravka does well to palm aside!
77' Manchester United have won just one of their last 17 Premier League matches when they’ve enjoyed more possession than their opponents (W1 D8 L8), a 3-1 win at Norwich City in October. However, they're set to repeat the feat tonight, managing just under 70% possession so far.
75' Sean Longstaff tries to make amends for his error early in the half, but he sends his ambitious effort high over the bar.
73' A lovely move on the right sees Pereira flick on for Mata on the right, who dinks into Greenwood, but the striker can't control or turn a shot on goal at the near post!
71' WIDE! Sean Longstaff sends a free-kick in that Fernandez meets at close range on the left, but he can only fire wide of the target!
69' Dubravka bizarrely spills what should have been a routine take at the feet of Mata in the box, but manages to recover and gather the loose ball without conceding a penalty.
Mata
A. Martial
67' There will be no hat-trick for Martial tonight as he comes off for Mata, allowing Greenwood to move into his preferred central striking berth.
65' Newcastle have a brief spell of possession, but they can't do anything with it. Heads have dropped now and the visiting team look a beaten side.
J. Lingard
M. Rashford
63' Rashford also goes off, with Lingard replacing him on the left wing.
D. Yedlin
M. Almirón
63' Almiron is off for a right-back in Yedlin as Bruce looks to limit the damage in the last half an hour or so.
61' POST! Martial comes within inches of completing his hat-trick, thumping a low, left-footed effort off the base of the post from outside the box!
C. Atsu
D. Gayle
59' Gayle is off for Atsu as Bruce looks to freshen up his forward line.
58' MISS! Rashford takes a long ball down in acres of space in the box, one-on-one with the keeper and with a man spare. He takes his time, feinting past desperate, retreating defenders and Dubravka, but then fires wide! However, the flag is up for offside to spare his blushes.
57' SAVE! Pogba then goes up the other end and curls an effort at goal from the edge of the box, but Dubravka is across well to hold on to the strike!
57' Schar, who has soldiered on, gets forward and blazes a shot high into the stands. He was never likely to score from there.
55' Newcastle will feel that they have been their own undoing. Individual errors for the first and fourth goal have taken this game almost certainly beyond their reach now. Only Sheffield United (six) have made more errors leading to goals than Newcastle (five) in the Premier League this season.
53' Schar is down after a foul from Martial and there is a break in play as he is treated. It looks to be his left hand that is the problem and he may have to go off.
A. Martial
Goal
51' GOAL!! MARTIAL IS GIFTED A SECOND! A woeful back-pass from Sean Longstaff under pressure turns into a perfect throughball for Martial, who races clean through on goal before dinking the ball over the diving Dubravka! It's 4-1 to Manchester United!
50' WIDE! Rashford's pass is deflected out to the edge of the box and Pogba arrives to meet it, adjusting his body before striking a wicked effort that curls just wide of the post!
48' United sweep forward and into the box down the right, but the final ball just goes wrong as Martial tries to flick it on for Wan-Bissaka.
46' We're back under way for the second half!
P. Pogba
S. McTominay
46' McTominay is withdrawn at half-time, possibly as a precaution after his early injury. Pogba comes on to take his place in midfield.
The opening stages were even, but United's forwards have proved the difference so far in this half as each member of the front three has found the net. Newcastle will be wondering where the United side who lost and failed to score against Watford have gone.
There goes the half-time whistle! Newcastle took a shock lead through Matty Longstaff after 17 minutes, but Martial levelled the scores seven minutes later before a stunning strike from Greenwood and a fine header from Rashford gave the Red Devils a commanding lead. It's 3-1 to Manchester United at the break!
45' + 2' HALF-TIME: MANCHESTER UNITED 3-1 NEWCASTLE UNITED
45' Rashford has 15 goals in 25 games in all competitions this season, the most he's ever managed in a whole season with United. He had 13 strikes in 47 appearances last term.
43' NO PENALTY! United break quickly from inside their own half and Martial carries the ball a long way to get into the box, before going to ground under pressure, but the referee waves his appeals away!
A. Wan-Bissaka
Assist
41' Wan-Bissaka beat Willems with ease down the flank and produced a fine cross for Rashford to meet.
M. Rashford
Goal
41' GOAL!! RASHFORD MAKES IT 3-1! Wan-Bissaka beats Willems with a change of pace and stands a cross up at the back post where Rashford rises highest to thump a header into the corner!
40' Following the corner, the ball is crossed into Lindelof at the back post, but the centre-back has to stretch awkwardly to meet it and he thumps it well over the bar.
39' SAVE! Rashford whips the free-kick towards the near post to try and catch Dubravka out, but the goalkeeper scrambles across and makes a fine save to beat the effort behind for a corner!
F. Schär
Yellow Card
38' Schar is booked for a poor challenge on Rashford just on the edge of the box. It's a dangerous position for the set-piece.
37' Greenwood joins an exclusive club today - only three other teenagers have scored in consecutive home matches for the Red Devils in the Premier League – Ryan Giggs (1993), Wayne Rooney (2005) and Federico Macheda (2010).
M. Greenwood
Goal
36' GOAL!! WHAT A HIT BY GREENWOOD!! What a goal from the youngster! A sloppy pass from Schar under pressure goes straight to Greenwood on the right. He drifts inside before unleashing a fearsome strike with his left that cannons in off the underside of the crossbar! It's 2-1 to Manchester United now!
Andreas Pereira
Yellow Card
35' Pereira leaves his studs in as he goes into a sliding challenge on Schar and earns himself a yellow card.
33' United look at their most dangerous in transition, using the pace of their forward line to counter, but Newcastle are not committing enough men forward to leave enough space for the hosts to really take advantage of.
31' Pereira takes on another ambitious effort from outside the box after Fred won it back high up the field, but he drags this one wide of the mark.
29' OVER! Rashford leads a United break and cuts in from the left before firing one towards the top-right corner, but he gets a little too much on the effort and it flies just over the bar!
28' Martial has now scored in each of his three Premier League appearances against Newcastle at Old Trafford.
26' Pereira then tries to get himself on the scoresheet, but he blazes well over from some distance. Not the right decision.
Andreas Pereira
Assist
24' Pereira - who had his back to goal - took just one touch to set the ball up for Martial, who was coming in at a better angle to shoot.
A. Martial
Goal
24' GOAL!! UNITED ARE LEVEL! Shaw advances down the left and cuts the ball into Pereira in the box. The midfielder sets the ball for Martial to strike with his first touch, and the ball squirms into the back of the net despite Dubravka getting a hand to it in the bottom-left corner! The goalkeeper will feel he should have done better there.
22' United break and Fred lines one up outsie the box, but his effort lacks the power and placement to really trouble Dubravka, who holds on.
21' Rashford and Greenwood try to respond at the other end, but both players see their shots cannon back off defenders.
19' Matty Longstaff's two Premier League goals have both come against Manchester United, one at home and one away.
Joelinton
Assist
17' Joelinton showed good strength to hold the ball up, but was also composed, aware and unselfish enough to cut the ball back rather than attempting to shoot from an unlikely angle himself.
M. Longstaff
Goal
17' GOAL!! NEWCASTLE LEAD AT OLD TRAFFORD! Matty Longstaff dinks the ball over the top for Joelinton, but the striker has Maguire for company and plays it back to the midfielder just inside the area in a central position. He takes a touch and then drills a low effort through Maguire's legs and into the bottom-left corner! It's 1-0 to Newcastle!
16' MISS! Joelinton slips Gayle clean through on goal down the left, but the striker fires just over the bar on his left! He had to hit the target there!
14' Almiron finds himself in space to the left of goal but swipes wildly at his effort with his left foot and slices the shot well wide of goal.
13' BLOCK! Maguire gets free to meet Fred's cross in the box but his firm header is diverted over the bar by Willems!
12' The shot is blocked by Fernandez in the wall and spins behind for a corner. That effort had plenty of pace and dip, but just not enough height.
11' Pereira wins a free-kick in a promising position to left of goal. Rashford steps up with intent.
9' United try to break but are faced with a wall of Newcastle defenders. Wan-Bissaka works the ball back to McTominay outside the area and he tries to whip one towards the bottom corner, but it's wide of the mark and nobody is there to steer it on target.
7' No chances for either side yet as both feel their way into the game. It's been fairly even thus far.
5' McTominay's booking on 24 seconds is the fastest yellow card given in a Premier League match since exact time data has been collected for bookings in the competition (2006-07).
3' McTominay is not moving freely and has a little problem. Pogba is warming up on the sidelines just in case as the midfielder tries to run off the issue.
S. McTominay
Yellow Card
1' McTominay picks up what must be one of the quickest bookings in history as he catches Sean Longstaff with his studs inside the opening 30 seconds.
1' We're under way at Old Trafford!
Newcastle have won two of their last four Premier League meetings with Manchester United (L2), as many as they managed in their previous 28 against them in the competition (W2 D7 L19).
In 10 away Premier League games at Old Trafford as a manager, Bruce has lost nine matches, drawing the other. During his playing career, Bruce lost just four of his 72 Premier League games at this ground as a Manchester United player (W50 D18).
Steve Bruce makes four changes despite his side's 1-0 win over Crystal Palace last time out. Sean Longstaff, Matty Longstaff, Willems and Gayle all come into the starting lineup. Carroll, Hayden and Shelvey all drop to the bench, while Paul Dummett is out injured alongside Allan Saint-Maximin, Matt Ritchie, Jamaal Lascelles, Ciaran Clark and Ki Sung-yeung.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer makes two changes from the United side that suffered defeat to the Hornets. Lingard and James drop to the bench in favour of Greenwood and Pereira. Defenders Marcos Rojo, Eric Bailly, Axel Tuanzebe and Timothy Fosu-Mensah are all out.
Newcastle United substitutes: Emil Krafth, Christian Atsu, Karl Darlow, Andy Carroll, DeAndre Yedlin, Isaac Hayden, Jonjo Shelvey.
Newcastle United XI (3-4-1-2): Martin Dubravka; Fabian Schar, Federico Fernandez, Florian Lejeune; Javier Manquillo, Sean Longstaff, Matty Longstaff, Jetro Willems; Miguel Almiron; Dwight Gayle, Joelinton.
Manchester United substitutes: Juan Mata, Sergio Romero, Phil Jones, Jesse Lingard, Ashley Young, Paul Pogba, Daniel James.
Manchester United XI (4-2-3-1): David de Gea; Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw; Scott McTominay, Fred; Mason Greenwood, Andreas Pereira, Marcus Rashford; Anthony Martial.
Manchester United will be keen to avoid successive defeats after losing 2-0 to Watford last time out as they face a Newcastle side below them in the table on goal-difference alone.
