Thank you for joining our coverage, we hope you enjoyed the game. Until next time, goodbye!
Manchester City face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge next, while Burnley will hope to do better in their second game back against Watford at Turf Moor.
There goes the full-time whistle! Manchester City cruise to another big win over Burnley, with Foden and Mahrez each netting twice and David Silva scoring the other. The Clarets were simply outclassed in all aspects and never threatened Guardiola's much-changed side. It finishes 5-0 to Manchester City!
90' + 2' FULL-TIME: MANCHESTER CITY 5-0 BURNLEY
90' City are simply running the clock down as they work the ball across the back four under little to no pressure from Burnley.
M. Thompson
M. Vydra
88' Vydra now makes way for Thompson, one of the youngsters called up to the first team tonight.
87' BLOCK! City work the ball around superbly and De Bruyne eventually stands a cross up to the back post from the left. It's over the head of Jesus, but Bernardo Silva connects with it on the volley and fires at goal, but it's blocked bravely away!
85' BLOCK! Sane strikes, but he doesn't get the height needed on the effort and it's straight into the wall.
83' Jesus is felled right on the edge of the box by Mee, who produced a clumsy challenge when faced with the Brazilian's direct running. Sane and De Bruyne stand over it, but the angle favours the German's left foot.
81' Burnley think they have a rare chance to counter as they win the ball in midfield, but play is halted for a foul on Bernardo Silva.
L. Sané
P. Foden
79' Sane makes his long-awaited return from injury, replacing Foden on the left wing as the youngster is also denied the chance of a hat-trick.
77' Rodri takes a speculative shot from distance but it doesn't trouble Pope.
74' Should the result stay this way, City will have won 5-0 against Burnley at the Etihad in each of their last three such meetings across all competitions.
72' City are in complete control of proceedings now. They are taking their time in possession as they work the ball around slowly, looking for further openings in a tiring Burnley defence.
70' Manchester City have scored five or more goals on 17 different occasions in the Premier League since Guardiola joined at the start of the 2016-17 campaign; eight more than any other side.
68' WIDE! De Bruyne strides forward in midfield and cleverly disguises his intentions before unleashing a fierce, low strike towards the near post, but he drags it just wide!
66' WIDE! Jesus gets another chance to shoot and this time he takes it, but he's off-balance and slices his effort wide of the near post!
Gabriel Jesus
Assist
63' Jesus would have had every right to take the shot on himself when the ball arrived at his feet in the box, but the striker chose to help it on for Foden, who tucked his low effort away to further extend City's advantage.
P. Foden
Goal
63' GOAL! FODEN SCORES AGAIN! City put together a sweeping move and Jesus is found in the centre of the box, but he unselfishly squares to Foden and the midfielder slots home at the near post from a tight angle! It's 5-0 to City now!
63' McNeil takes the free-kick, but fires it well over the bar. That's not his finest effort.
João Cancelo
Yellow Card
62' Cancelo goes into the book for a poor challenge on Vydra, and Burnley are awarded a free-kick in a promising position.
A. Laporte
Fernandinho
61' Guardiola makes a second change, bringing Laporte on for Fernandinho in defence.
K. De Bruyne
R. Mahrez
61' Mahrez is denied the chance to get his hat-trick as De Bruyne comes on to replace him, with Bernardo Silva going out to the right wing.
E. Pieters
J. Rodriguez
60' Striker Rodriguez is replaced by a left-back in Pieters as Dyche tries to do some damage control by adding another defender.
57' Both managers appear to be readying substitutions as the hour mark approaches. Perhaps these were premeditated changes.
55' Burnley look to be out of ideas. They are simply being outclassed by a superior opponent and don't seem to have a game-plan beyond the low block they started with.
53' Bernardo Silva has now assisted four of Manchester City's eight Premier League goals against Burnley this season as Guardiola' side maintain their strong record against the Clarets.
Bernardo Silva
Assist
51' That's a lovely team goal from City and Bernardo Silva timed his run in behind to perfection, crossing low after being found by Foden's disguised pass to give David Silva a chance he couldn't miss from!
David Silva
Goal
51' GOAL!! DAVID SILVA MAKES IT FOUR!! It's another short corner routine that undoes Burnley and Dyche will be furious! It's worked back to Foden in an almost identical position to City's first goal, but this time he plays a clever reverse pass through for Bernardo Silva, who squares for David Silva to turn home from close range! It's now 4-0 to Manchester City!
48' Burnley have failed to have a shot in the first half of a Premier League game for the first time since December 2018 against Crystal Palace.
46' We're back under way for the second half!
Losing Aguero will be a blow for City and they will want to avoid any more injuries in the second half. With the game seemingly wrapped up, they may take their foot off the gas slightly in the second half. Meanwhile, Dyche has few options he can turn to if he wants to change the game, with no senior attacking players on the bench.
There goes the half-time whistle! Foden's fierce effort from a short corner routine opened the scoring for the hosts, before a fantastic effort and a penalty from Mahrez towards the end of the half put City in cruise control. Burnley had set up to try and frustrate their more decorated opponents, but opened up after Foden's goal and gave City more space to work with. It's 3-0 to Manchester City at half-time!
45' + 6' HALF-TIME: MANCHESTER CITY 3-0 BURNLEY
J. Brownhill
Yellow Card
45' + 4' Brownhill picks up a yellow card for a poor challenge on his full Premier League debut for Burnley.
Gabriel Jesus
S. Agüero
45' + 3' Aguero can't continue and Jesus comes on to replace him up front.
R. Mahrez
Penalty Goal
45' + 3' GOAL! Mahrez makes it 3-0! The winger steps up in Aguero's absence and coolly dispatches the ball into the bottom-left corner, despite Pope diving the right way. City now have a commanding lead as they head into the break.
45' + 1' PENALTY! VAR reviewed the incident which led to Aguero's injury, with Mee sliding in to prevent the striker latching onto Foden's low cross, but the footage reveals he missed the ball and caught the forward! The referee points to the spot!
45' Aguero has stayed down in the box after a collision with Mee and Zinchenko puts the ball out of play so the striker can receive medical attention. He may not be able to continue.
Fernandinho
Assist
43' Fernandinho's wonderful, raking diagonal found Mahrez in the space created by Burnley's high press and the Algerian did the rest superbly.
R. Mahrez
Goal
43' GOAL!!! THAT'S A FABULOUS GOAL BY MAHREZ!! Fernandinho picks the winger out with a long ball from the back and the Algerian bears down on goal with real purpose. He chops one way, then the other, working half a yard in the box to strike a low effort under Pope's outstretched leg and into the bottom-left corner! It's 2-0 to City now!
41' Burnley are pressing high now as the half draws to a close. There is plenty of space in behind as the Burnley back four is stationed on the halfway line.
39' SHOT! Zinchenko collects the ball in the final third and attempts an ambitious strike from outside the box. His dipping effort is powerful and on-target, but Pope gets his body behind it and holds on well.
37' Burnley's only consistent route forward is to knock the ball long for one of Rodriguez or Vydra, but neither striker has been able to make the ball stick and they are bereft of support to link up with.
35' BLOCK! Bernardo Silva gets to the byline and shows some neat touches to evade Taylor, before fizzing a low pass back to Aguero. The striker thumps at goal, but it's blocked and the ball ricochets back onto his arm, leading to a Burnley free-kick that relieves the pressure.
33' After the game was briefly stretched, City are back in control of proceedings and are working the ball around at their own pace.
31' The corner is taken short again, but this time it's worked to Cancelo, who crosses towards the back post from a deeper position. The delivery catches Burnley out, but Aguero can only work it back into the mix on the stretch and the visitors clear at the second time of asking.
30' City now have more space to break into, however, and they win another corner down the right through Bernardo Silva.
28' Burnley are definitely starting to play with more positivity. They're enjoying their first significant spell of possession and McNeil looks bright as he tries to get the better of Cancelo.
26' Burnley now find themselves in a difficult position. They can no longer simply sit deep and absorb pressure, but by opening up and showing more adventure, they leave themselves more exposed. Dyche will not have been pleased to concede from a set-piece.
24' Foden has scored in each of his last two Premier League appearances for Manchester City (2 goals) after managing just one in 32 before that.
P. Foden
Goal
22' GOAL!! FODEN THUMPS CITY AHEAD!! A short corner is taken and Bernardo Silva works the ball to Foden on the edge of the box. The young midfielder is under pressure but keeps his cool and hits a sweetly struck effort into the bottom-right corner past a diving Pope! It's 1-0 to Manchester City!
Bernardo Silva
Assist
22' Bernardo Silva claims the assist as he received the short corner before finding Foden in space, but the youngster had plenty left to do to find the bottom corner!
21' Aguero latches onto a lovely ball into the box from Mahrez and tries to square for a team-mate, but it's blocked behind for a corner by Tarkowski.
19' Rodri clatters into Westwood and Burnley have a free-kick in the City half. It's lofted into the box, but it's wasted and runs out for a goal-kick.
17' WIDE! David Silva plays the ball wide towards Mahrez, arriving into the box on the right, but Bernardo Silva takes over, lashing wide with his weaker right foot! He may have been better off allowing Mahrez to collect the pass that was intended for him.
15' Cancelo picks the ball up in a central area in the Burnley third and takes on a very ambitious effort, but leans back and sends the ball high over the bar.
13' Burnley have a clear game-plan off the ball, but on the rare occassions that they find themselves in possession, they show few signs of being able to play their way out of City's high, tenacious press.
11' David Silva draws a foul from Tarkowski in the Burnley third - but it's a little far out to strike at goal. It's crossed into the middle, but the delivery is overhit and Burnley clear their lines.
9' Burnley are showing plenty of tenacity so far as they shuffle from side to side in their low block, applying pressure when possible, and have managed to keep City from creating anything of note in the final third.
7' Burnley have a rare opportunity to throw men forward as they win a free-kick near the halfway line. It's knocked long, but City repel the attack and the Clarets quickly retreat into their defensive shell.
5' City are still working the ball around well, but they can't pick an opening in Burnley's dogged defensive shape.
3' City have started as you would expect - in complete control of the ball. There's been plenty of zip to their passing in the opening stages.
1' We're under way at the Etihad!
Burnley are the first side to name at least 10 English players in their starting line-up in a Premier League match since Middlesbrough in May 2006.
Including the eight changes made for tonight's fixture, Guardiola has made a total of 105 alterations to his starting line-ups in the Premier League this season; 25 more than any other side.
Burnley boss Sean Dyche, however, has a much smaller pool of players to work with for this fixture. Jeff Hendrick, Phil Bardsley, Joe Hart, Aaron Lennon and Adam Legzdins are all out of contract on June 30 and have therefore been left out, while Johan Berg Gudmundsson, Chris Wood, Ben Gibson and Ashley Barnes are all missing through injury. As a result, three academy players have been called up to fill out the bench, which features two goalkeepers.
City manager Pep Guardiola has only retained Ederson, David Silva and Mahrez from the side that started against Arsenal as he opts to rotate his squad against the Clarets. Eric Garica is still ruled out after sustaining a head injury against the Gunners, while Claudio Bravo and John Stones are not yet back to full fitness.
Burnley substitutes: Bailey Peacock-Farrell, Erik Pieters, Kevin Long, Jimmy Dunne, Max Thompson, Bobby Thomas, Lukas Jensen.
Burnley XI (4-4-2): Nick Pope; Matthew Lowton, James Tarkowski, Ben Mee, Charlie Taylor; Josh Brownhill, Jack Cork, Ashley Westwood, Dwight McNeil; Jay Rodriguez, Matej Vydra.
Manchester City substitutes: Gabriel Jesus, Aymeric Laporte, Kyle Walker, Scott Carson, Raheem Sterling, Benjamin Mendy, Kevin De Bruyne, Leroy Sane, Ilkay Gundogan.
Manchester City XI (4-3-3): Ederson; Joao Cancelo, Fernandinho, Nicolas Otamendi, Oleksandr Zinchenko; Bernardo Silva, Rodri, David Silva; Riyad Mahrez, Sergio Aguero, Phil Foden.
Burnley's first game back is a tough task - they face reigning champions Manchester City, who returned to action in style with a 3-0 win over 10-man Arsenal five days ago.
