8th Finals
UEFA Europa League

As a result, Juventus qualify for the first knockout round of the tournament and they'll be thrilled to do so with games to spare. For Lokomotiv though, they'll look back ruefully after losing both games against Juventus through late goals. They now rely on Bayer Leverkusen to avoid defeat against Atletico Madrid in order to keep their hopes of qualification alive.
Well, Juventus claim victory in a brilliant end-to-end game with a dramatic winner in stoppage time! They got off to a perfect start when Ramsey tapped in on the line after Ronaldo's powerful free-kick fooled Guilherme, but were immediately pegged back by Miranchuk's smart finish. For the rest of the first period Lokomotiv pushed for a second goal, but Miranchuk and Joao Mario both wasted good chances. Juventus rallied in the second 45 though, and dominated proceedings. Guilherme was forced into a number of strong saves and - despite Joao Mario having a shot cleared off the line - they could have no complaints when Costa waltzed through their backline to fire in the winner.
90' + 4' FULL TIME: Lokomotiv Moscow 1-2 Juventus
Douglas Costa
Yellow Card
90' + 3' Costa is booked for removing his shirt in the celebrations.
G. Higuaín
90' + 3' Higuain's looked sharp with his build-up play throughout this game and finally it pays off with a brilliant flick to play Costa through on goal where the Brazilian made no mistake with his finish!
Douglas Costa
90' + 3' JUVENTUS SURELY WIN IT! 2-1! Costa wriggles delightfully inside Ignatjev, before playing a deft one-two with Higuain on the edge of the area and collecting the ball to roll a low finish past Guilherme when one-on-one!
90' Juventus continue to pour forward against a tiring Lokomotiv side as the referee adds on four minutes of stoppage time.
89' Costa teases Ignatjev before leathering a delivery right across the face of goal and - without any attacker to tap it in - Lokomotiv survive.
88' Higuain breaks free from Rybus and whips a swerving cross into the box where it's blocked by Howedes. From the resulting set-piece, Eder rises highest to knock the ball to safety.
86' Krychowiak lets fly from 25 yards, but he drills his shot comfortably over the bar. He might have been better served by patiently trying to construct a better chance there.
A. Kolomeytsev
João Mário
85' Joao Mario is replaced after a frustrating evening by Kolomeytsev.
84' Rabiot slides in a dangerous low cross towards the six-yard box and Dybala attempts to attack it, but Corluka bravely dives in to clear the danger.
M. Rybus
Yellow Card
83' Rybus is booked for a cynical foul on Costa down the right-wing.
P. Dybala
Cristiano Ronaldo
82' Dybala looks to repeat his previous match-winning performance against Lokomotiv, by replacing Ronaldo up top now.
R. Zhemaletdinov
81' Zhemaletdinov is replaced by Cerqueira as the hosts continue to search for that illusive winner.
79' Corluka is struggling with what seems to be a hamstring injury and he's trying to play on, but that seems like a dangerous strategy in an end-to-end game such as this.
77' Juventus clear off the line! Lokomotiv fly forward in numbers again and Krychowiak finds himself through on goal, where his fierce shot is blocked by Szczesny before the loose ball drops to Joao Mario who curls an effort towards the empty net, only for Bonucci to clear it on the line!
74' Lokomotiv spread the play out to Rybus on the left flank, but just as the full-back charges forward, Bentancur slides across to dispossess the defender and thwart the attack.
72' Juventus continue to probe patiently in the final third, but the hosts have managed to tighten their defence up in the last ten minutes. It looks as though Lokomotiv will be restricted to counter-attacks from here to try and claim the three points though.
Douglas Costa
S. Khedira
70' Khedira is replaced by Costa as Juventus search for more energy in attack.
68' Lokomotiv striker, Eder, has been on the losing side in each of his last nine Champions League starts; the longer this game remains all square the more he can hope to arrest this record.
66' Zhemlatdinov elegantly zooms past Pjanic and suddenly Lokomotiv have a four-on-three! However, the winger rolls a pass out towards Joao Mario on the left flank and - with a host of players waiting in the box - he shoots wastefully over the bar.
R. Bentancur
A. Ramsey
64' Ramsey is replaced by Bentancur in the heart of the Juventus midfield.
62' Pjanic receives a pass 25 yards from goal and - without any obvious options - elects to take a shot at goal that miscues and dribbles safely into Guilherme's grasp.
60' Lokomotiv make a rare foray forward as Zhemaletdinov plays a clever reverse pass into the box for Miranchuk who proceeds to curl a tame effort straight at Szczesny from 18 yards.
58' Juventus are beginning to control this game now and Lokomotiv are already appearing to tire. It wouldn't be surprising if there were some substitutions for the home side shortly.
56' Great save from Guilherme! Alex Sandro fires in a quick pass to Higuain, who beautifully lays it off to Ronaldo with a cute flick, before the attacker lashes a powerful shot at goal that Guilherme pushes acrobatically out of harm's way!
54' Juventus probe with a series of crisp passes on the edge of the Lokomotiv box, before Rabiot interjects with a low shot from 20 yards that screws well wide.
52' The key for Lokomotiv in the second period will be to remain composed and trust in the style of play that helped them dominate the first 45. It'll be easy to withdraw as the game becomes nervier: Juventus will qualify for the next round with a victory today and Lokomotiv's qualification chances will largely be extinguished.
50' Lokomotiv work a corner short, before eventually finding Barinov on the edge of the area, who flicks the ball up before firing a flamboyant bicycle-kick well over the bar.
48' Juventus go close! Ramsey wriggles into the Lokomotiv half before Zhemaletdinov hauls him down 30 yards from goal. Ronaldo steps up for the resulting set-piece and hammers a swirling strike at goal that Guilherme does well to get down low to and palm to safety!
46' Juventus get the second 45 underway.
Looking ahead, Lokomotiv should have real belief that they can claim an unlikely win in the second period after that performance. However, Juventus - as they showed with that late Higuain chance - will be incredibly difficult to keep quiet.
Well, this game hangs precariously in the balance after a thrilling first half! The hosts experienced a terrible start, after Guilherme spilled Ronaldo's vicious free-kick for Ramsey to tap into an empty net. However, Lokomotiv rallied well after that setback and quickly equalised through Miranchuk's alert finish from the cross of Rybus - and they could have had more. Miranchuk nodded over from close range while Joao Mario wasted two shots from exciting positions. Guilherme did eventually redeem himself though with a strong save to deny Higuain just before half-time.
45' + 1' HALF TIME: Lokomotiv Moscow 1-1 Juventus
45' Khedira knocks a chipped Higuain pass back towards Ronaldo on the edge of the area, before the superstar attacker blazes his shot powerfully over the bar.
43' Miranchuk has provided two goals and two assists in his last six Champions League appearances; however, his strike today could end up extending an unwanted record. He has ended on the losing side in all three games in which he’s been involved in a goal.
41' Krychowiak is afforded time to swing in a devilish cross from a deep position and Ignatjev races towards the back post to challenge for the header, but it drifts narrowly over his head.
L. Bonucci
Yellow Card
39' Bonucci is booked for a poor, raking challenge down the back of Eder's calf - he's perhaps, slightly fortunate not to receive a harsher punishment there.
37' Juventus push forward again, but Corluka steps out of the backline to cleanly halt Ramsey's progress through the middle. The Italian side are starting to recover from the early onslaught though.
35' Great save from Guilherme! Lokomotiv's goalkeeper redeems himself! Higuain masterfully ran in behind and connected with Pjanic's dinked pass before firing a low volley at goal from eight yards, that Guilherme did brilliantly to get down to and parry wide!
33' Danilo shimmies his way down the right flank before winning a second corner for Juventus. Pjanic's delivery initially evades everyone, before Ronaldo stretches to head the next cross well wide.
32' Rybus and Rabiot collide out wide and both players stay down momentarily, but after a brief interruption, they're able to continue.
30' The hosts may have had only 36% possession so far, but when they have won the ball they've been far more incisive than Juventus: they've managed six shots inside the box compared to the away side's three.
28' The Russian side assuredly construct another move that ends with Krychowiak flashing a powerful effort wide from 25 yards.
26' Juventus try and stem the tide with a period of patient passing near the halfway line, however Rabiot eventually surrenders possession with a long diagonal forward and the hosts rebuild again.
24' Lokomotiv look as though they're about to counter again with Miranchuk racing through the centre of the pitch but Khedira recovers to expertly slide in and poke the ball away.
22' Lokomotiv are swarming all over Juventus at the moment! They're pressing industriously, high up the pitch and when they regain possession they're breaking quickly and in numbers. As a result, the hosts are carving Juventus apart, while Ronaldo and Higuain look increasingly isolated up top!
21' Huge chance for Miranchuk! Lokomotiv fly forward in numbers again and this time Zhemaletdinov finds space on the byline to clip a cross to the near post, where Miranchuk rises highest to plant a header just over from six yards!
19' Eder and Miranchuk combine smartly with a quick one-two on the edge of the area, before the former goes down easily under pressure from Rugani. It was a theatrical fall though, and the referee waves play on.
18' Ronaldo receives a pass from Alex Sandro 25 yards from goal, where he drills a low, powerful shot well wide of the target.
16' Zhemaletdinov cuts in purposefully from the left-wing, before lofting a weak shot from 25 yards that drifts harmlessly over the bar.
14' A superb reaction from Lokomotiv! They've looked full of attacking intent ever since they went behind and they've been rewarded with an equaliser within 10 minutes of conceding!
A. Miranchuk
12' Lokomotiv equalise! 1-1! Rybus finds space on the left flank to flight a cross in, and it's met by Miranchuk who glances a deft header across goal. The ball clips the inside of the post before bouncing back for the Russian attacker to tap in on the rebound!
9' Ronaldo tries to engineer some space for a shot in the box, but he gets crowded out and the Lokomotiv defence manage to block his effort.
7' Eder latches onto a throughball into the channel, before cutting it back to Joao Mario who attempts a curling effort from a tight angle that drifts comfortably over the bar.
5' Well, this has been the start that Lokomotiv feared. They desperately need a win today and Guilherme's terrible error has left them with a mountain to climb.
A. Ramsey
3' JUVENTUS TAKE THE LEAD! 1-0! The away side win another free-kick, this time out wide and 30 yards from goal. Ronaldo steps up and hits a powerful effort over the wall, that bobbles just in front of Guilherme and through the goalkeeper's legs before Ramsey races in to ensure the trickling ball crosses the line! Guilherme will be furious with himself for that shocking handling error!
2' The hosts immediately clip the ball forwards from kick off and Juventus settle in with a long spell of possession in their own half.
1' Lokomotiv get the first half underway.
The players are emerging from the tunnel and kick off is just seconds away!
Juventus will be under even more pressure tonight after their recent poor away form in the competition. They’re winless in their last four outings, marking their worst run since 2014 – tonight should be an excellent opportunity to arrest this slide.
Lokomotiv make just one change from their 3-0 defeat to Spartak Moscow last time out with Cerqueria dropping out for Rybus at the back. More importantly, though, they switch from a 5-3-2 to a more compact 4-4-1-1 formation. Meanwhile, Juventus keep retain the same shape from their victory over Torino while making seven changes: most notably, Dybala – despite his heroics on the last matchday – is replaced by Higuain up top.
SUBS: Merih Demiral, Rodrigo Bentancur, Blaise Matuidi, Douglas Costa, Mattia De Sciglio, Paulo Dybala, Gianluigi Buffon.
JUVENTUS (4-3-1-2): Wojciech Szczesny; Danilo, Leonardo Bonucci, Daniele Rugani, Alex Sandro; Sami Khedira, Miralem Pjanic, Adrien Rabiot; Aaron Ramsey; Gonzalo Higuain, Cristiano Ronaldo.
SUBS: Aleksandr Kolomeytsev, Stanislav Magkeev, Dmitry Zhivoglyadov, Anton Kochenkov, Murilo Cerqueira, Brian Idowu, Roman Tugarev.
LOKOMOTIV MOSCOW (4-4-1-1): Guilherme; Vladislav Ignatjev, Benedikt Howedes, Vedran Corluka, Maciej Rybus; Rifat Zhemaletdinov, Gregorz Krychowiak, Dimitri Barinov, Joao Mario; Alexey Miranchuk; Eder.
Hello and welcome to live commentary of this Champions League clash between Lokomotiv Moscow and Juventus. The hosts enter this one tethered to the bottom of Group D having failed to record a point in their first three games. Juventus, however, find themselves sitting in a strong position at the top of the table with seven points. Nevertheless, this won’t be an easy game at all for the Italian side: in the first fixture between the two teams in October, Juventus needed a late double from Paulo Dybala to overturn Lokomotiv’s one-goal lead.
