UEFA Champions League
UEFA Europa League

And there goes the final whistle! Stoke earn a hard-fought point at Anfield, courtesy of some wayward Salah finishing early on and some disciplined, committed defending from Pieters in particular, but question marks remain over whether it will be enough to keep the Potters in the Premier League. Ultimately, a point each does neither side much good in pursuit of their goals. It finishes 0-0 on Merseyside!
90' + 6' NO PENALTY! The ball is crossed into the back post and Firmino goes down under the attentions of Pieters, but the referee isn't interested! That must surely be that.
90' + 4' MISS! Pieters, who has had an impeccable game marking Salah, heads poorly to Milner, and the midfielder crosses straight onto the head of Wijnaldum, but his header sails over the bar! That was a fantastic opportunity!
90' + 3' BLOCK! Henderson smacks a half-volley with some venom, but it's deflected over the bar!
90' + 3' Klavan is free on the left as Liverpool pile everyone forward, but his cross is just nicked away from the middle!
90' + 1' There are SIX added minutes here. Plenty of time for a goal for either side.
88' MISS! Diouf works hard down the left and lifts the ball over Karius to the back post, but with the goal gaping, Shawcross can only touch it wide!! What a smash-and-grab that would have been for Stoke!
V. van Dijk
Yellow Card
88' Van Dijk is the first Liverpool player to go into the book.
87' NO PENALTY! They win a corner though, and Salah's drilled cross comes back out to him. He feeds Wijnaldum, whose cross clearly strikes the arm of Pieters and sends it behind Moreno at the back post, who had an empty net to tap into! The referee isn't interested though!
86' Stoke are defending so, so deep now, and it's becoming increasingly difficult for Liverpool to find a way through in the final third.
84' MISS! Liverpool pass it around the back, and Van Dijk advances to around 30 yards and smacks one at goal, but it's deflected over for a corner that leads to an offside call against Wijnaldum.
82' The game is getting scrappy now as Stoke look to frustrate Liverpool by breaking up the flow of the match. It's working, but can they hold on for the final 10 minutes?
79' However, that challenge has seen both players go down with injuries, and the pair hobble to the sidelines so the game can continue.
78' Moreno goes on a charging run from left-back, but then holds onto it a little too long and is on the end of a crunching challenge by Ndiaye. The big midfielder won the ball, though.
76' Ndiaye concedes a corner from Clyne's attempted cross, and it's headed back out and Milner earns another. That, however, is also cleared away.
75' CHANCE! Moreno crosses dangerously for Salah, but he's marked either side and Zouma slices clear uncomfortably past his near post!
73' The ball is switched from left to right, but it's a little high and Clyne can't control it on his chest.
72' It's been a relatively quiet few minutes as Liverpool pass but without much penetration. A through-ball from Henderson to Clyne just runs away from the full-back and goes out for a goal-kick.
67' CHANCES! A floated cross finds the head of Clyne, but his header is tame and easy for Butland to catch. 30 seconds later, Moreno rifles a low effort just wide of the far post! Still no goal for the hosts.
D. Fletcher
P. Crouch
65' Crouch is replaced by Fletcher in response as Lambert goes for an extra man in midfield.
N. Clyne
D. Ings
65' Ings is the next to be replaced, with Clyne coming on in his place and taking up the right-wing berth, freeing up Salah to move more centrally.
J. Milner
T. Alexander-Arnold
65' The first change of a double-substitution is made as Alexander-Arnold makes way for Milner in midfield.
63' CHANCE! Finally a gap appears in the Stoke defence as Salah twists and turns to try and escape the attentions of Pieters. Ings finds some space and shoots, but it's blocked away and Butland climbs highest to catch the loose ball.
61' Shaqiri has the opportunity to slip Diouf in after a lot of defending, but his pass is straight at a red shirt and Liverpool assume control again.
58' BLOCK! Stoke break quickly and Shaqiri finds Sobhi, who cuts inside and lets loose, but it's blocked well by Gomez.
57' A sloppy pass out of play from Gomez puts an end to a long spell of Liverpool possession. They've had all of the ball, but Stoke are defending deep in their own half and denying the likes of Salah and Firmino any space. Much better than the first half from a Stoke point of view.
54' SAVE! Sobhi wriggles away down the left and drills a shot in at the near post, but Karius is well-positioned to make a comfortable stop.
Ramadan Sobhi
B. Martins Indi
52' It looks like a change will be needed, but it's Martins Indi who's limping off, to be replaced by Sobhi. The winger will take up the left-midfield role, while Bauer reverts to right-back and Zouma slots in at centre-half.
50' MISS! A Liverpool corner is headed out to Salah, but his strike is well wide of goal. Aside from that early chance, he's been well-marked by Pieters.
49' The Welshman is keen to keep going, and jogs back on, but Fletcher is warming up on the sidelines just in case.
47' Allen has gone down off the ball. Lambert looks concerned on the sidelines as the former Liverpool midfielder receives treatment.
46' Pieters wastes no time in reminding Salah that he's there with a hefty early challenge.
46' Liverpool get us going again at Anfield!
Liverpool have huffed and puffed, but somehow it's still level at the break! Salah missed a golden opportunity when one-on-one with Butland, while Alexander-Arnold was denied from close range and the Egyptian curled a free-kick wide. Seven shots from the hosts, but only one on target. The Reds have been on top, but they need to be more clinical in the second half. Stoke have had half-chances, most notably when Diouf headed into the side-netting, but they'll need to offer a little more in the second half if they want to be sure of a result here. It's 0-0 at the break!
45' + 3' The half peters to a close as the third minute of added time passes.
45' + 2' Poor handling again by Butland as he fumbles a cross before holding tight at the second attempt. He's looked very shaky when catching today - not the sort of performance he wants to be giving if he wants to start for England in Russia.
45' + 1' The captain is back on his feet and returns to the pitch to warm applause from the home faithful.
44' Worrying signs for Liverpool as Henderson is down receiving treatment. He is one of only three fit senior midfielders available to Klopp following injuries to Oxlade-Chamberlain and Emre Can. Were he to be injured, Alexander-Arnold may have to deputise again in midfield against Roma.
M. Diouf
Yellow Card
42' Yellow card Mame Biram Diouf
M. Diouf
Yellow Card
42' Diouf joins his strike partner in the book for a foul.
41' NO GOAL! Ings is slipped through down the left and plays the ball into Wijnladum, whose shot is beaten away by Butland. Ings is there though to smash the ball in at the near post with his left foot! However, the linesman's flag is up for offside and the Englishman is marginally off.
37' Pieters has clearly been told to man-mark Salah, following him all the way across to the opposite flank and putting him under pressure as he tries to bring a long ball down.
P. Crouch
Yellow Card
36' Yellow card Peter Crouch
P. Crouch
Yellow Card
36' Van Dijk comes flying out of defence as he tries to nick the ball off Crouch, but Firmino tangles with the big striker and Crouch receives a yellow card as a result.
34' MISS! Salah tries to bend it into the top corner, but it's narrowly wide!
33' CHANCE! Alexander-Arnold tries to release Salah early down the right, but he's closely marshalled by Pieters and Butland gets there first. However, the goalkeeper - sliding in to collect the ball, fumbles it and it falls to Salah! The Egyptian is hauled back on the edge of the box by a panicked Pieters, and Liverpool win a free-kick in a dangerous position.
31' Stoke are holding firm as Salah and Firmino try to work their magic. The former plays a one-two off the latter down the right before cutting back and curling the ball towards Ings on the edge of the box, but he's crowded out. He does well to win it back though, and the hosts start again.
29' MISS! Moreno does find Firmino's run down the left this time, and the Brazilian wriggles free and flicks a cross into the box. It's headed out to Wijnaldum on the edge of the area, who shapes to curl the ball across goal and then smashes it near-post, but it's agonisingly wide!
27' Liverpool look to break quickly and Salah switches the play well to the surging Moreno. He advances to the corner of the box, but twice gets his pass wrong as it's blocked and then cleared.
25' Moreno attempts a low cross from deep, and gets lovely shape on it, but Salah is closely marked and the ball is hacked uncompromisingly clear.
22' CHANCE! It's end-to-end for a couple of minutes as Stoke race clear down the right, and fizz the ball across the face of goal, but Crouch just can't get a long leg to it to turn the ball home!
21' SAVE! A wonderful cross-field pass finds Salah, who slips Alexander-Arnold into the box, but he gets the ball caught under his feet and can't get a clean strike away, and Butland stands firm to deny him!
20' CHANCE! Diouf holds the ball up well and feeds Bauer on the left, who skips away from Gomez and races into the box. He cuts back onto his right and lofts it to the back post for Diouf, who gets up well and powers his header down, but only into the side-netting!
19' Karius plays an awful pass straight to Crouch, and a few Liverpool hearts beat a little quicker, but his clipped ball through for Diouf is overhit and the goalkeeper gets away with it!
17' Liverpool are knocking the ball around confidently, but they can't quite find a way through just yet. Their final ball hasn't been quite right, but they're certainly in charge here.
13' A firm pass between the lines finds Alexander-Arnold with his back to goal, but his touch lets him down and Stoke hoof it clear. The youngster has been very busy so far, getting around the pitch and involving himself in the play.
11' CHANCE! A long ball forward by Stoke forces Karius to charge out of his box and head the ball to a team-mate. Liverpool then craft a wonderful move with Firmino and Moreno on the left, before the ball is fizzed into the area for Salah, bit it's just too hard and takes him wide. His resulting weak effort is blocked away. The Reds are probing here.
10' Stoke don't look comfortable at all in these opening 10 minutes. They'll need to settle quickly if they are to have any chance of getting a result here.
8' Liverpool seem to be playing their usual 4-3-3 with Alexander-Arnold on the right of a midfield three. The youngster supposedly came through the ranks as a midfield player.
5' MISS! Would you believe it! Salah exploits a ridiculously high line from Stoke to race clear on goal! He's one-on-one with Butland, and you'd have put your house on him scoring as the England goalkeeper rushes off his line, but Salah goes for his signature dinked finish at the near-post - and clips it wide! Incredible!
4' CHANCE! Alexander-Arnold makes an excellent underlapping run and stumbles after contact by Bauer. The youngster tries to fire the ball into a dangerous area, but it comes off Butland, and back off him for a Stoke goal-kick.
3' The Potters win another corner - this time from the right - and the delivery is again overhit to the back post and sails over everyone for a Liverpool throw-in.
2' Stoke win an early corner on the left off Van Dijk, but the delivery is overhit and disappointing.
1' Alexander-Arnold lofts the ball towards Salah early on, but Butland is off his line well to make a comfortable catch.
1' We're underway at Anfield! Stoke face a huge task ahead of them today, but they need to produce if they are to have any chance of remaining in the Premier League.
Salah will be eyeing up more records here today though. One more goal would see him become the highest scorer ever in a 38-game Premier League season, and would also take him level with Luis Suarez for consecutive goals scored at Anfield (eight).
However, there is a glimmer of hope for the visitors, as Paul Lambert has never lost an away match at Anfield as a manager, winning three and drawing two of his five matches in all competitions.
The signs look good for an early goal here as well, as no side has conceded the first goal of a Premier League game more often than Stoke this season (21), while only Manchester City (28) have opened the scoring more often than Liverpool (25).
Furthermore, Stoke have won just four of their 70 away games against the Reds in all competitions (D13 L53), winning 1-0 in a League Cup semi-final second leg match in January 2016, and three times in the second tier in the 1950s.
And the history doesn't make for comfortable reading for the Potters, as Liverpool have not lost in 54 previous home top-flight games against them (W43 D11 L0) - the longest ever unbeaten home run by one team against another in top-flight history.
The Reds come into this game in good form, having gone unbeaten in their last eight games in all competitions (W6 D2).
Liverpool are looking to cement a Champions League place, with three league games left to play and are eight points ahead of fifth-placed Chelsea, who have a game in hand.
Stoke are four points from safety with three games remaining and have only won once this year in 14 league games. Defeat here could all-but-end their survival hopes.
Paul Lambert makes just one enforced change from the side that drew with Burnley last time out, as Glen Johnson is out with a groin injury. He is replaced at right-back by Chelsea loanee Zouma. Forward Eric Choupo-Moting (groin) and defender Kostas Stafylidis (fractured rib) also remain on the sidelines.
Jurgen Klopp has, as expected, rung the changes ahead of his side's Champions League semi-final second-leg trip to Rome, making five changes to the team that blew Roma away at Anfield. Sadio Mane is not risked, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's season was ended prematurely in that game. Milner, Lovren and Robertson are rested. In their places, Ings, Gomez, Moreno, Klavan, and Wijnaldum start in what looks like it could be a 3-4-3, although the possibility remains for Alexander-Arnold to be used as a central midfielder in Klopp's usual 4-3-3.
Stoke City substitutes: Geoff Cameron, Charlie Adam, Darren Fletcher, Jakob Haugaard, Stephen Ireland, Tyrese Campbell, Ramadan Sobhi
Stoke City XI (4-4-2): Jack Butland; Erik Pieters, Bruno Martins Indi, Ryan Shawcross, Kurt Zouma; Moritz Bauer, Badou Ndiaye, Joe Allen, Xherdan Shaqiri; Peter Crouch, Mame Biram Diouf

Liverpool XI (3-4-3): Loris Karius; Ragnar Klavan, Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez; Alberto Moreno, Georginio Wijnaldum, Jordan Henderson, Trent Alexander-Arnold; Danny Ings, Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah
