Relegation Play-off

It's just one more game in Ligue 1 before the festive break then; just one more match in 2020. For PSG, it is Strasbourg - and for Lille, it is Montpellier. Until then, thank you for joining us - and have a great week!
On that basis then, it is a winning night for Christophe Galtier - his side were well off the ball compared to their visitors and yet they finish the match unbeaten and at the summit of Ligue 1. A good result for them, if not great.
You can't even blame a festive hangover on that one. Thomas Tuchel's side could have gone top with a win here. Instead, they stay third - and their hosts instead move top on goal difference.
It finishes scoreless at Stade Pierre Mauroy as Paris Saint-Germain are held to a draw by fellow title hopefuls Lille. In a game with very little pizzazz, it is the hosts who will be happiest to hold on for a point in Ligue 1. At full-time, it finishes Lille 0-0 Paris Saint-Germain.
90' + 5' Another late Lille corner is delivered far better now, and a red shirt goes down in the box as it comes in. There's no call from the referee or VAR however and that may just be the game.
90' + 3' A skimmed header puts the resulting free-kick out for a corner that is wastefully scuffed to the first defender. Lille will be disappointed with that.
90' + 2' David draws a foul to PSG's fury about 35 yards out on the right edge. This is dangerous territory for the visitors.
90' With merely 31 per cent of the ball here, Lille will be the happier of these two sides to come away with a point if the game remains like this. There will be five added minutes.
89' Marquinhos is now felled at the edge of the box, but no call is forthcoming. Time is running out for either side to snatch a result here.
C. Dagba
L. Kurzawa
87' Kurzawa meanwhile is replaced by Colin Dagba.
Ander Herrera
A. Florenzi
87' Florenzi will indeed have to leave, with Ander Herrera on in his place.
85' Florenzi now is down injured, after being tackled by his own man. PSG are not having all the luck here.
83' Maignan bounds off his line with a skilled punch clearance, continuing to thwart late attempts from PSG here.
M. Bakker
P. Kimpembe
81' That is a sad sight, as Kimpembe limps off the field. He looks in pain as Mitchel Bakker takes his place.
B. André
79' With play still stopped for injury, Xeka comes on for Andre for Lille.
78' Play comes to a halt now after Kimpembe stays down following a last-gasp slide tackle where he appeared to twinge his groin in the process.
J. Draxler
77' Julian Draxler meanwhile enters the fray in place of Rafinha.
K. Mbappé
Á. Di María
77' Muscular strain or not, it is a birthday game for the blue-haired Kylian Mbappe, who replaces Di Maria.
75' Yilmaz! An effort from distance takes a wicked deflection and the Lille striker can only watch as Navas helps tip it away from the edge of the post.
72' This is going to end 0-0, isn't it? Neither side seems to have an answer to find a breakthrough here.
70' Six shots for Lille, eight for PSG - but just the one apiece on target. That's the kind of game this has been.
68' Florenzi cannot quite control a scything cross that curls out towards him on the right flank, where he puts it out for a goal-kick.
66' Maignan - arguably not superbly tested but at the very least consistently pushed today - makes a clean collection to pick up the corner as PSG swing it in.
64' Rafinha is the man with the smart break for PSG now, and he wins the visitors a corner. There's just under 30 minutes left of this one and it remains goalless.
62' David gets straight into the action too, with a looped finish that requires Navas to make a leaping collection before it accidentally squeaks in near the crossbar.
T. Weah
J. Ikoné
61' Timothy Weah is also on against his old club now, replacing Ikone.
J. David
Y. Yazıcı
61' Lille are making their first changes now, with Jonathan David on for Yazici.
59' Moise Kean's luck will have to change eventually, surely. Though the set-piece is lacking, Di Maria whips a square ball across the face of goal moments later and the striker just can't tap it in.
57' He's getting everywhere up front! Kean, again, sees an effort deflected out for a corner.
55' Kean now gets onto the wrong side of a diving header and sends a looping effort floating out of play away from any danger for Lille.
53' Yazici! The Lille man buries the ball past Navas with a fantastic finish but the flag is up on the sidelines. Frustration for the hosts.
51' Kean! The striker pushes a square pass off the outside of his boot around the edge of the near post. PSG are pushing for that opener.
48' Kylian Mbappe is already going through some motions on the touchline. Will PSG need him? If he does indeed have muscular problems, the birthday boy is surely better left on the sidelines.
46' We're back underway with the second half in Ligue 1. Will PSG's statistical dominance finally tell here, or can Lille keep themselves in an even contest?
Something's got to give? Thomas Tuchel will hope so, but it has been far from the most inspiring 45 minutes by either side in the top-flight this year. Let's see what this game holds after the break.
It's Paris Saint-Germain who are dominated this game on the stats chart - but it is Lille who are grinding it out on the scoreboard in this goalless Ligue 1 clash. At half-time, it's Lille 0-0 Paris Saint-Germain.
45' + 2' A shove on Rafinha hands PSG a late free-kick and Kimpembe goes close to nudging it in at the far post. Maignan just keeps it out and that will be the last play of the half.
45' We're going to have one added minute.
43' For a game between two of the best sides in Ligue 1, this has felt oddly sterile in fits and starts. There's been nine total attempts but how many of them have been true corkers? Not many.
41' Kean! A corking back-heel from the Everton loanee almost wrong-foots Maignan, before the keeper snaps up and seizes on the ball with the reflexes of a mouse trap.
38' A monster of a long ball sails downfield in pursuit of Di Maria and Lille just manage to hold it off. Rafinha takes it out of play trying to find a subsequent cross and the hosts have the goal-kick.
36' Down the other end, Lille now head over the crossbar from a dangerous corner. The longer this game remains goalless, the more PSG may start to feel a little twitchy.
34' Marquinhos has been a sturdy centre-piece of that PSG defence so far but he's supplying some strong setup too. The visitors have a half-penalty shout a moment later waved away.
32' This has become a more end-to-end match, with Lille increasing their footing after those stronger first presses from PSG. Ikone spears a run down the wing but his cutback is picked off by the visitors' defence once again.
30' Di Maria! The striker whips a promising free-kick just over the crossbar, beating the Lille wall and watching the backspin take it away from the goalmouth.
28' Lille thread together their most impressive break of the game yet, powered through the middle before the final pass is picked off easily by Kimpembe.
25' Mandava comes in on Florenzi with a robust challenge, leaving the PSG man down onto the turf. He's good to continue but there has been no shortage of meaty tackles so far.
22' A glancing header in the crowded box takes the delivery past Maignan - and the wrong side of the left post. Lille survive the danger.
21' The set-piece delivery is less than fantastic and Mandava has to double back to bring a potentially dangerous PSG counter under control, ultimately conceding the foul after clipping Di Maria himself.
P. Kimpembe
Yellow Card
19' Kimpembe gets booked for that challenge belatedly and Lille will have a free-kick once Andre is recovered.
18' That's reckless from Kimpembe, who turns around and smashes his foot into Andre as he tries to bring a ball to earth.
16' Bamba draws a neat foul out on the left wing, with a little nibble at his feet from the PSG defender. The hosts are drawing their visitors in to some crafty one-on-one situations so far.
14' Indeed, it is just shy of two-thirds possession for PSG against the hosts.
12' The visitors have found more ball so far, but Lille are holding firm at the back so far. Early days yet though.
10' Lille promptly counter from the set-piece and now it is Navas who has to make a much-needed stop before the hosts can prise open the PSG defence in earnest.
8' Kean romps after a rather tasty long ball that skips beyond his grasp as it is pushed out for a corner, mere moments after Ikone saw a strike blocked down the far end. Maignan claims cleanly.
T. Kehrer
Yellow Card
6' That being said, as soon as Mandava threatens one of the first Lille breaks of the game, Kehrer promptly pile-drives him and picks up a surprisingly early booking.
5' PSG are finding their early purchase down the wings, which is perhaps not too surprising giving the fluidity and width they have with their wing-backs against Lille's more conventional back four.
3' This clash has the makings of an effective workout for PSG's typically omnipresent title credentials. Thomas Tuchel was under the cosh a few weeks ago but his side are back on the warpath now.
1' We are underway in this Ligue 1 tie between Lille and Paris Saint-Germain!
The teams have emerged at Stade Pierre Mauroy and we're moments away from kick-off.
With six efforts this season, Burak Yilmaz leads the scoring charts for Lille - but at just 20 per cent, he has the worst conversion rate in the top ten Ligue 1 scorers this term.
PSG ran out 2-0 winners in both this fixture and the reverse last season, Mauro Icardi and Angel Di Maria snagged the goals in the first instance; a Neymar double did the damage the second time around.
Subs: Kylian Mbappe, Leandro Paredes, Sergio Rico, Ander Herrera, Julian Draxler, Mitchel Bakker, Colin Dagba, Timothee Pembele, Bandiougou Fadiga.
PARIS SAINT GERMAIN (3-5-2): Keylor Navas; Thilo Kehrer, Marquinhos, Presnel Kimpembe; Alessandro Florenzi, Rafinha, Idrissa Gueye, Marco Verratti, Layvin Kurzawa; Angel Di Maria, Moise Kean.
Subs: Orestis Karnezis, Tiago Djalo, Xeka, Jonathan David, Isaac Lihadji, Timothy Weah, Adama Soumaoro, Cheikh Niasse, Domagoj Bradaric.
LILLE (4-4-1-1): Mike Maignan; Zeki Celik, Jose Fonte, Sven Botman, Reinildo Mandava; Jonathan Ikone, Benjamin Andre, Boubakary Soumare, Jonathan Bamba; Yusuf Yazici, Burak Yilmaz.
The hosts meanwhile favour a sturdy attack, with Yusuf Yazici and Burak Yilmaz up front. Former PSG youngster Timothy Weah is on the bench.
Kylian Mbappe - who celebrates his birthday today - is on the bench once more, reportedly with muscular problems. It will be interesting to see if the striker plays a part here.
But they couldn't have asked for a much tougher fixture to follow up. Christophe Galtier's side are among the early pacesetters this term and will be far from a pushover for the champions.
It has been a positive week for Thomas Tuchel's side. An emphatic win on Wednesday over Lorient was buoyed by the news Neymar's lay-off will not be as bad as feared, with the Brazilian expected to be back in January.
It's second versus third today, with the summit the prize for the winner here. Three points for either side takes them to the top of Ligue 1 - and puts them in the driving seat.
Hello and welcome to live coverage of the 2020-21 Ligue 1 season as Paris Saint-Germain look to bolster their title hopes at the expense of rivals Lille at Stade Pierre Mauroy.
