Commentary

That's all for our live coverage from the Polish Army Stadium, thanks for following along. Goodbye!
Mateo Kovacic's late strike denies Jacek Magiera's side a famous win as Los Blancos leave it late, rescuing a point after blowing a two-goal first-half lead in Warsaw. It was a memorable night, packed with drama after a predictable opening 35 minutes, but a disappointing result for both teams in the end who will feel they could have had all three points.
FULL-TIME: LEGIA WARSAW 3-3 REAL MADRID.
OFF THE BAR! Talk about late drama! Bale brings the ball down off his chest inside the box and sends a half-volley at goal from 10 yards, but it rattles off the frame before eventually being ushered behind for a goal-kick as Lucas tries to keep the pressure on! That should do it!
Pazdan has been superb tonight for Legia, a real stalwart in the air, and he makes another vital contribution to pressure Ronaldo into sending a header wide. The centre-half drops to the ground right after and will try to run precious second off the clock.
There will be three minutes added on at the end of this match.
Tension is very high here as the tempo picks up significantly with stoppage-time approaching. Of course to walk away empty handed would be a massive letdown for Legia, but given the way this match has unfolded, you have to admire them for not just sitting back here and playing for the draw. They're still going for it.
T. Jodłowiec
V. Odjidja-Ofoe
Tomasz Jodlowiec replaces Odidja-Ofoe for the dying minutes.
Dani Carvajal
Assist
Carvajal picks up a rather impressive assist there.
M. Díaz
Álvaro Morata
Mariano Diaz comes on for his Champions League debut, replacing Morata.

Goal
REAL MADRID LEVEL STRAIGHT AWAY! Well the celebrations are short-lived for Legia as Kovacic restores parity with a quite remarkable finish, guiding the ball into the far corner from 20 yards after a delicious back-heel from Carvajal.
T. Moulin
Goal
FROM 2-0 DOWN, LEGIA LEAD! DO YOU BELIEVE IN FAIRYTALES?! How could you not! Take a bow, Thibault, this is your moment! Odidja-Ofoe makes strides down the left as Real are exposed on the break. He picks out Prijovic in the centre, who tees up Moulin, and the midfielder bends a stunning first-time strike off the near post and into the back of the net!

Assist Aleksandar Prijović
Into the final 10 minutes now and Legia are looking stronger than ever. They're keeping really well organised in defence, allowing the visitors no way through. There's hardly an opening to be found. These Real Madrid players are hesitating as a result, and they're getting caught in possession far too often.
Frustration clearly setting in here for the visitors, who are struggling to create in attack. Legia are closing their gaps, showing excellent determination off the ball and Madrid are starting to show signs of fatigue. They're running out of time.
Marco Asensio
Fábio Coentrão
Marco Asensio replaces Coentrao in the second change of the night for the visitors.
A. Prijović
M. Radović
Aleksandar Prijovic is brought on here as Radovic is replaced, giving way to a warm receptions from his coaches and team-mates. It's his goal that has this match level.
Legia full of confidence here. They've tightened up at the back, doing well to keep Madrid on the perimetre. Lucas has provided the visitors with some excellent width, but it's becoming awfully congested in the central areas as Legia adopt an all-hands-on-deck approach in defence.
STAT: Legia Warsaw are one of three teams to have lost their three Champions League group games so far this season, alongside Club Brugge and Dinamo Zagreb.
Over again from Ronaldo! He really doesn't have his best with him today, does he? A delightfully cushioned delivery in from the right proves inviting for him, but the forward heads over the bar! He gets up and berates the referee, claiming he was pushed from behind, but that's an awful big stretch as the replay will show.
M. Kucharczyk
N. Nikolić
A first change of the evening for Legia as Michal Kucharczyk replaces Nikolics.
Morata slips, but does well to regain his footing and make something of a lost cause, winning a free-kick in the centre of the pitch, about 25 yards from goal. Ronaldo stands over and takes, but his effort is too central as Malarz parries easily.
The visitors have clearly upped the urgency here, committing a wealth of bodies forward in search of the goal they so desperately crave. Checking in for a second on the other Group F match, and Dortmund lead at the moment, 1-0 in the 65th minute. Real Madrid would surrender first place if these results hold.
Lucas Vázquez
K. Benzema
Lucas Vazquez enters the fray as Zidane makes his first change of the night, with Benzema the one replaced.
STAT: After winning their first two Champions League home games (1995/96 group stages), Legia Warsaw have failed to win any of the last three (D1 L2) without scoring a single goal in those three games.
Well what a game we have on our hands now! Legia looked a fish our of water when Benzema gave the visitors a 2-0 lead, but parity has been restored in Warsaw and this match is now perfectly poised as we reach the hour mark!
T. Moulin
Assist
Moulin provides the assist.
M. Radović
Goal
HOLD YOUR HATS, LEGIA ARE LEVEL! Well who would have predicted this?! Poor all around from Real Madrid there. Radovic takes a harmless pass and is able to walk forward into attack, with Bale giving up chase and Varane not closing down. He drives a strike towards the far post and it escapes some very poor goalkeeping from Navas to draw the hosts level!
Disappointing by his standards! Real Madrid win a free-kick virtually dead centre, a couple yards outside the area. Bale winds up taking it, but he drills an effort harmlessly over the bar. Perhaps the real headline there is Ronaldo letting the Welshman take...
STAT: Real Madrid have failed to score only once in their last 48 (including today) Champions League group games (Paris SG 0-0 Real Madrid, October 21 2015).
HE'S GONE CLOSE! Nervy moments there for Real Madrid as they concede a free-kick on the edge of the area. Guilherme takes and clearly has Navas beaten, but his effort drifts no more than an inch over the bar! Excellent effort from the Brazilian!
Good bit of interplay from the visitors, searching to restore their two-goal advantage. Ronaldo gets on the end of the move, but he goes a bit wide as he makes a difficult angle for himself for a shot, which winds up crashing into the side netting.
Despite Legia getting the second half restarted, it's Real Madrid who knock it around confidently, enjoying the lion's share of possession in these first few minutes, though no chances created of yet. Legia ended the first half on a high, but they haven't carried that momentum with them through the break it seems.
Back underway in Warsaw...
Gareth Bale opened the scoring after just 57 seconds, Real Madrid's fastest-ever goal in the Champions League, and Karim Benzema doubled their advantage just after the half-hour mark. The LaLiga outfit were unlucky not to have more, but their inability to convert chances was punished by Vadis Odidja-Ofoe's wonder-strike as Madrid's lead is cut to one heading into the interval.
HALF-TIME: LEGIA WARSAW 1-0 REAL MADRID.
There will be just one minute added on at the end of this first half.
There's a spring in the step of these Legia players now, with Odidja-Ofoe's goal lighting a bit of a fire under them. There's actually some noise in the stadium now too, with what appears to be the media members, club and stadium staff cheering their side on. It's no more than some scattered echoes, but it's better than nothing!
STAT: Real Madrid have won none of their last three away games in the Champions League (D2 L1).
Guilherme Marques
Assist
Guilherme picked him out with a pass from the right flank and is credited with the assist.
V. Odjidja-Ofoe
Goal
A WONDER STRIKE FROM OUT OF NOWHERE! Lethargic defending from Real Madrid, Nacho especially, who doesn't at all close down on Odidja-Ofoe. The Belgian cuts onto his left and from 20 yards out he smashes an unbelievable effort into the far top corner! It's his first goal for the club and what a time this is to score it!
Real Madrid continue to be in complete control. There's no doubt that the atmosphere, or lack there of, has put a damper on the spirits of these Legia Warsaw players. They're used to having excellent support, but that's far from the case tonight with this game being played behind closed doors.
Malarz called into action again! It's a 12th shot of the night for Real Madrid, as they aim to match their 32 managed at the Bernabeu. Bale gets on the end of another tidy ball from Kovacic, and brings it down neatly, but his half-volley is parried at the near post by the keeper.
G. Bale
Assist
An assist for Bale to go with his goal.
K. Benzema
Goal
SUMPTUOUS INTERPLAY! Outstandingly worked there as Real Madrid double their lead! Kovacic bends a delightful ball through to pick out the run of Bale on the right. The Welshman pulls it back for Benzema in the centre, who produces a confident first-time finish at the near post!
STAT: Legia have won only one of their nine games against Spanish opposition, in all competitions (D2 L6): against Atletico Madrid at home in the 1970/71 European Cup quarter finals (2-1 – they were ousted on away goals).
Well isn't he just a joy to watch! Bale produces an exquisite touch to get around a defender and into a nice pocket of space on the edge of the area, but sends a shot blistering over the bar, skimming the roof of the net. Some effort, that, needing to be just a few inches shorter.
The hosts are having no success trying to get into the ascendency. They're lacking quality in their passing, as the brief moments in possession are becoming even shorter. They need to dig deep and get some momentum on their side, perhaps building off the excellent work of their keeper.
You get the sense that a second goal for Real Madrid is imminent, and that would surely be too much for Legia to overcome. Complete dominance from the visitors over the last 10 minutes has resulted in a slew of chances, but Malarz is holding firm in goal.
SOMEHOW SCRAMBLED CLEAR! A corner lands directly in the centre of the Legia penalty area, following another sharp save from Malarz to deny Bale. Ronaldo and Benzema have a clear path to it, but they both attack simultaneously as neither can get a shot off, with the keeper stranded!
STAT: Gareth Bale's goal tonight (57 seconds) is the quickest that Real Madrid have ever scored in the Champions League.
PENALTY APPEALS DENIED! Radovic has a legitimate shout here as he's clearly dragged to ground by Modric. The only question is whether or not he went down easy, and the theatrical nature of his fall probably didn't help his cause. Legia earned the right to protest that decision, though.
BENZEMA TURNED ASIDE! A fine save by Malarz to deny the striker following some terrific work from Morata in the build-up. The Spaniard saw his excellent run halted, before Benzema collected the loose ball, cut onto his right and curled an effort towards the far post.
NEARLY THE SECOND! Three free-kick is off the wall and behind for a corner. Kroos takes the subsequent delivery, and it's met by the head of Varane, but Malarz does really well to get across and keep it out before Odidja-Ofoe scrambles clear!
Moulin catches Bale from behind, conceding a free-kick in a threatening position a few yards outside the box, just to the right of goal. Malarz has gone down in the meantime, however, though it's not entirely clear what happened to the Legia goalkeeper, who hasn't been involved for the larger part of the last five to 10 minutes.
Despite dominating possession, it's all been rather stale from Real Madrid going forward, since grabbing the opener. They haven't asked anything else of Malarz, while Legia seemed to have found a way to tighten up a bit. It's still easy for the visitors to move through midfield, but there's little space for them when they get into attack.
Legia are starting to get their footing. They're committing a few more bodies forward when they win the ball back, and their latest attack sees Bereszynski make a good run into space down the right, but his final ball into the area leaves plenty to be desired.
STAT: Legia faced 32 shots in the previous matchday against Real Madrid which is the most faced by any side in a single Champions League fixture this term; surpassing the 31 Borussia Dortmund attempted against Legia Warsaw.
Possession being dominated here by the visitors, who pass their way around midfield patiently and confidently. Legia have yet to prove stern opposition, unable to disrupt their rhythm in possession. It's all too easy for Real Madrid thus far.
The backdrop is strange, with the Legia forced to play this match behind closed doors following crowd disturbances during their 6-0 defeat to Dortmund. This usually hostile venue is quiet and barren, making the task that much harder for the home side.
It's the absolutely worst imaginable start for Legia, with Magiera stressing in the build-up how important it was for his side to come flying out of the gate. Instead they face another deficit and have an awful lot of work cut out for them. The only thing working in their favour right now is time.
G. Bale
Goal
STUNNER! ABSOLUTE STUNNER! It took all of 57 seconds for Gareth Bale to break the deadlock! Ronaldo flicks a header on, into the path of the Welshman, who absolutely hammers a volley into the top corner from just over 20 yards out! It's a sensational strike!
Cristiano Ronaldo
Assist
Ronaldo with the assist, but that was all in the individual brilliance of Bale.
AND WE'RE OFF! Real Madrid get us underway, attacking left to right.
The final change sees Alvaro Morata come in to partner Karim Benzema up top as Real Madrid look to pack an even greater attacking punch, with James Rodriguez out.
Five changes made by Zinedine Zidane from the drubbing they issued Legia in Madrid. Daniel Carvajal, Nacho and Fabio Coentrao come into defence, with Danilo, Pepe and Marcelo replaced, with Sergio Ramos still out injured. Mateo Kovacic is brought into midfield as Marco Asensio is denied another Champions League start.
Jacek Magiera makes three changes from the reverse fixture. Michal Pazdan is a welcome return from injury and reclaims his spot at centre-half, pushing Jakub Czerwinski to the bench. Michal Kopczynski comes into midfield at the expense of Tomasz Jodlowiec, while Nemanja Nikolics leads the line, with Michal Kucharczyk dropping out of the side to make room.
SUBS: Danilo, Lucas, Asensio, Diaz, Tejero, Casilla, Isco.
REAL MADRID (4-4-2): Navas; Carvajal, Varane, Nacho, Coentrao; Bale, Kovacic, Kroos, Ronaldo; Benzema, Morata.
SUBS: Prijovic, Cierzniak, Czerwinski, Jodlowiec, Kucharczyk, Broz, Hamalainen.
LEGIA WARSAW (4-2-3-1): Malarz; Bereszynski, Rzezniczak, Pazdan, Hlousek; Kopczynski, Moulin; Guilherme, Odidja-Ofoe, Radovic; Nikolics.
CONFIRMED TEAM NEWS:
At the bottom of the group, Legia have yet to pick up a point through their three matches, suffering a 6-0 defeat to Borussia Dortmund in their only home game. They will undoubtedly do everything in their power to put together a better performance for their supporters tonight.
They can book their place to the last-16 tonight with a win, coupled with a Dortmund victory over Sporting. The real battle in Group F, however, is for first place. At the halfway point of the group phase, Madrid and Dortmund remain tied at seven points.
Real Madrid cruised to 5-1 victory, claiming all three points in the reverse fixture at the Santiago Bernabeu, but it figures to be a lot less straightforward this time around as they visit chilly Warsaw.
Hello and welcome to live coverage from the Polish Army Stadium as Legia Warsaw search for their first points of the group stage when they play host to a Real Madrid side looking to punch their ticket to the knockout phase.
