Thanks for joining our commentary this evening. Until next time, goodbye.
An entertaining contest end all square as Real Madrid return to the LaLiga summit, but will feel that they have dropped two points this evening. Marco Asensio put his side ahead in the first half, only to be pegged back by Tana's strike. Karim Benzema appeared to have secured the win for his team, but Sergio Araujo with the aid of fortune snatched a draw for Las Palmas.
CLOSE! Casilla almost makes a terrible mistake rushing out as El Zhar gets to the ball first, but the winger can only blast his effort off the keeper. That will end the contest as the referee blows for full time.
CHANCE! Madrid spurn another golden opening to snatch the points as Carvajal stands a cross up into the middle of the box, but Isco directs his header over the bar.
CHANCE! Benzema latches on to Modric's pinpoint cross at the back post, but he strikes his volley well over the bar. What an opportunity that was to win the game.
Yellow Card
Tana goes into the book for unsporting behaviour.
There will be four minutes of added time.
Benzema gets caught offside on the edge of the box, and the home side get a vital chance to take time off the clock.
Modric lets fly with a powerful strike from 25 yards, but Varas watches the ball all the way to make the save and then he gathers at the second attempt.
M. Lemos
M. Livaja
Merladet comes on for the final two minutes to replace Livaja.
The home side are up for this one now. Can they snatch all three points away from Madrid?
S. Araújo
GOAL!!! Las Palmas are level late in the game through Araujo. It's one of the most fortunate goals you will ever see as after Gomez found the forward with a delightful header, he smacked his effort off Cassila. The ball hit back off the keeper into the Argentine, who somehow kept it in play and nudged it towards the goal, before sliding with Nacho put it over the line.
El Zhar makes a good run down the right and he sends a dangerous cross into the box, but it sails narrowly over the heads of his team-mates in the box.
Real are doing a fine job of keeping the ball away from the home side. They're finding space with ease and are taking valuable time off the clock.
Final change for Real as Isco replaces Morata.
Las Palmas clear the danger from the corner as Gomez gets to the ball ahead of Bale and hammers it downfield.
Aythami attempts to clear the danger from a low cross into the box, but can only slice the ball behind for a corner.
Garcia heads the ball on from the free-kick, but it lands at the feet of Varane who clears the danger.
Yellow Card
Carvajal goes into the book for a loose challenge on Tana.
Las Palmas have lost their way going forward since losing Viera to injury. The midfielder was the driving force for the home side and they've lacked creativity in the final third since his departure.
Lucas Vázquez
Cristiano Ronaldo
An unhappy Ronaldo makes way as he chunters to himself all the way to the bench. Vazquez replaces the Portuguese, who does not make eye contact on his way past Zidane.
An incisive pass from Carvajal almost releases Benzema in the inside right channel, but Varas comes off his line to beat the Frenchman to the ball and to sweep it behind.
S. Araújo
Sergio Araujo replaces Momo for the home side.
K. Benzema
GOAL!!!!! Real regain the lead as Benzema converts from close range. Ronaldo broke through the defensive line courtesy of a throughball from Morata. Varas made a good save to deny the Portuguese, but Benzema pounced on the rebound to score.
Bale takes on Castellano and drives the ball towards the six-yard box, but there are enough yellow shirts to stop the cross, allowing Varas to gather at his near post.
K. Benzema
Benzema replaces Asensio for the final 25 minutes.
CHANCE! Benzema should score seconds after arriving on the pitch as Ronaldo's header falls to him at the back post, but it simply strikes off his leg and into the hands of Varas.
SHOT! Las Palmas string a few passes together on the edge of the box before Michel decides to shoot from distance, but his left-footed strike is tame and straight at Cassila.
Not the best moment in Carvajal's career as he collects a pass from Asensio and trips over his own feet in the box.
El Zhar and Michel link up down the right to send the Brazilian through into the inside right channel, but he kicks the ball straight out of play when attempting to put it across the face of goal.
T. Kroos
Yellow Card
Kroos jumps into the back of Gomez and gets booked.
Bale weaves his way through a crowd of players and knocks the ball through in his attempt to bear down on goal. Ronaldo seizes it and rounds Varas to slam his strike into the net, but the flag was up a long time for offside.
N. El Zhar
Jonathan Viera
Viera makes way due to his injury for El Zhar.
David García
Yellow Card
David Garcia heads into the book in his attempt to get Ramos carded for a handball.
There are problems for the home side as Viera has failed to get up from the ground after chasing Modric. He's heading off with a hamstring injury, which will be a blow considering he was his side's best player in the first half.
Modric bursts forward now and tees up Ronaldo on the right flank. He shoots first time, but Castellano makes the block to prevent the strike troubling Varas.
Ronaldo makes a good run to the edge of the box before sliding a throughball for the run of Nacho. The left-back tries to take on Michel, but the Brazilian guides the ball out of play.
CHANCE! Real break down the left flank and Ronaldo tees up Bale on the edge of the box, but Varas gets down to make a good save, while Asensio is caught offside trying to attack the rebound.
We're back underway in this LaLiga clash.
The players are back out on the pitch, so we should be underway shortly.
Las Palmas hit back just before the break to level the scores and it's a deserved scoreline at the break. Real Madrid have not been clinical in the final third and were duly punished when Tana found the net. Zidane will want an improvement in the final third in the second half.
The referee draws the first half to a close.
Viera and Ramos tussle for the ball and the Madrid skipper gets the free-kick, but the home side are trying to get under his skin here.
CHANCE! Kroos sends an arcing pass over to the right flank for the run of Bale. The Welshman takes the ball in stride and strikes on the half-volley with his right foot, only to be denied at the near post by Varas.
Ramos jumps into the back of Gomez and Las Palmas want to see a card from the official, but the referee opts against booking the Madrid skipper.
The home side deserve to be back into the contest. They've been a good match for Real thus far and are pressing the visitors into mistakes.
GOAL!!! Las Palmas are level as Tana finds the back of the net. The forward finished well with a left-footed strike into the bottom corner after Varane had failed to clear Castellano's cross to safety. Game on.
Livaja tries to capitalise on a mistake from Ramos, but Varane stops him in his tracks on the edge of the box to quell the attack.
Las Palmas were beginning to come into the game, but just like that Real are ahead. That's the danger of playing open football against a team with Madrid's quality.
GOAL!!! Madrid take the lead as Asensio nods home from close range. Nacho should take the majority of the credit as his bursting run down the left flank and strike forced a good save from Varas, but the midfielder was there to convert the rebound.
Morata went down quite theatrically in the box and Garcia was unimpressed with his attempts, pleading with the referee to book the Spaniard. However, his appeals went unrewarded.
SAVE! Bale makes another surge into the box and he fires the ball across the face of goal. Varas comes off his line to parry the ball away from the net, and David Garcia scoops the ball away, despite the efforts of Morata.
Viera lifts another ball behind the Madrid defence for Tana's run, but this time the forward is flagged offside by the linesman.
Space opens up for Viera to strike at goal from distance, but he does not get enough power on the effort to beat Casilla's dive.
CHANCE! Viera lifts the ball over the Real backline for the run of Tana, but the forward can only produce a tame effort at goal, which is saved with ease by Casilla.
CHANCE! Carvajal raids down the right flank and cuts the ball back into the middle. Ronaldo and Morata attempt to scramble the ball home, but the home side get enough yellow shirts in the way to make blocks in the six-yard box before David Garcia is fouled.
Roque Mesa
Yellow Card
Roque goes into the book for blocking Modric's free-kick from two yards away.
Momo sends the ball into the box, but Ramos gets up highest in the area to clear with authority.
Varane brings down Livaja and the home side earn a chance to threaten from a free-kick 35 yards from goal.
David Garcia makes another vital intervention at the back to stop Morata's pass from finding Ronaldo. It's a very open game thus far.
CHANCE! Momo finds space down the left flank and sends a low pass into the middle for Viera, but he cannot make solid contact with his effort, sending his strike wide of the post.
Bale surges past three players and into the box, but as he pulls the trigger with his left foot David Garcia makes a vital block to stop his strike.
Morata has had a strong start to the game and continues by pulling off Michel on the left. He takes the ball in stride and cuts back on to his right foot to shoot, but Varas makes a comfortable save.
CHANCE! Ronaldo controls a loose ball on his chest and lets fly with a volley from 25 yards. Varas scrambles across his line, but watches the ball travel safely past the post.
SLIP! Ronaldo collects a low pass from Morata on the right, but with the goal gaping he loses his footing and spurns the opening.
PENALTY SHOUTS! Morata sends a cross into the box and the ball strikes Artiles. Real want a penalty for handball, but the referee dismisses their claims. Ronaldo picks up the ball and gets jostled out of possession by Michel, but then falls to the ground. Once again the referee waves away his appeals.
It has been utter dominance from Madrid thus far. Las Palmas cannot get a kick at the moment as Zidane's men are encamped in their half.
CHANCE! Kroos lifts his cross into the box and Morata powers a header towards the net after beating his marker in the air, but Varas makes a fine save to turn the ball over the bar.
Nacho goes down under Michel's challenge and Real have a free-kick on the byline on the left flank. Kroos will take the set-piece.
CHANCE! Kroos robs Momo in the middle of the park and drives forward towards the edge of the box. The German shoots with his left foot, but Varas makes a comfortable save.
Michel comes out of the defensive line to make a strong tackle on Ronaldo. He wins the ball and helps his side clear the danger. The Brazilian had to win that challenge otherwise his side would have been open on the flank.
Ronaldo collects on the left and cuts back on to his right foot with the aid of a few stepovers. He opens up space for a strike, but scuffs his effort well past the post.
The home side put Real under pressure at the back, forcing Ramos into an early mistake as he sends the ball out for a throw-in.
