Commentary

Graham Arnold will take that result, still lots of work ahead for the Australians before facing some more serious action in tournaments to come.  Mabil, Deng and Arzani looked an exciting combination over the final 15 minutes as the Socceroos finished off Kuwait with two late goals.  Kuwait 0 Australia 4.
A comfortable win from the Australians, Kuwait were more lively in the second half but not up to the class of the Australians.
FULL TIME - Kuwait 0 Australia 4.
90' + 3' The referee brings an end to the game and a comfortable victory for the Socceroos.  Kuwait 0 Australia 4.
90' + 1' Two minutes of additional time to be added.
89' Great moment for Awer Mabil in his debut with a right foot shot from the right hand side of the box beating the goal keeper and finding the bottom left of the net. Juric the assist with a deft left foot pass releasing Mabil.  Kuwait 0 Australia 4.

46' Jackson Irvine down early after the restart holding his left arm, seems he got some contact there, seems a little sore, getting some treatment.
46' Kuwait get the ball rolling in the second half with the kick off.  Australia leading 2-0.
Kuwait have looked fragile in defense despite the Australians having not creating a huge amount of opportunities, but all the same Graham Arnold would be happy with the start.
A solid but far from outstanding first half from the Socceroos. Disaster in the 12th minute for Kuwait when they conceded an own goal, that was then followed by a simple put away from Giannou as the Australians took a strangle hold on the game early.
HALF TIME - Kuwait 0 Australia 2.
45' + 1' Rogic the corner for Australia, but that's the half over as the referee calls half time
45' + 1' Lechie a shot from inside the box and a great save from Qallaf as he tips the shot over the bar.
43' Luongo with a good run to the edge of the box he tries to find Giannou but he is caught on his heels and an opportunity missed as Kuwait clear.
42' Australia with 62% of possession to date.
41' Irvine finds Kruse on the left but Kruse can't pull his cross back far enough from inside the box and that's an easy clearance from Kuwait.
40' Giannou blazes away with a shot from long range but that one goes way over the top of the goal.
39' Risdon a good run and cross from the right but Kuwait again manage to scramble in defense, before Lechie can get a clear shot from the loose ball.
36' Sainsbury wins a free kick in his defensive half for the Australians.

29' Another corner conceded by Kuwait, Rogic to swing the ball in from the left, Irvine a nice climb in the box but the attempt is blocked.
28' Kuwait certainly seem more composed in attack than defense.
26' Foul against Behich but the Australians are able to defend the set piece and clear the danger zone for the time being.
25' Kruse close to finding Lechie running onto the ball in the box but this time Kuwait are able to scramble in defense and clear the ball.
24' Things looking ugly for Kuwait at the moment, they look all at sea especially in defense.
22' AUSTRALIA 2-0. Giannou scores his first goal for Australia and the Australians second of the game from point blank range.  Irvine floated the ball into the danger area, Kuwait again failing to clear the ball and Giannou pounces and beats the keeper to his left.

4' Rogic with an early strike on goal but that is easily taken by Qallaf, still a nice early sighter for Rogic.
3' Australia with some early possession as Kuwait struggle to clear their defensive half.
1' In goal for Australia tonight is Danny Vukovic while for Kuwait its Hameed Al Qallaf.
1' Underway in Kuwait, Australia with the kick off.
Not far off a start as both teams line up for the respective National Anthems.
Interesting to note the head to head between the two countries in 11 games played Kuwait hold the advantage with 5 wins to 4, 2 games have ended in draws.
Graham Arnold takes charge for the first time after taking the reins of the Australian team after the FIFA World Cup earlier in the year.  Arnold has vowed to introduce a free-flowing style back into the Socceroos style of play, so the game is of huge interest today.
Welcome to Al Kuwait Sports Club Stadium for the International Friendly clash between the home team Kuwait up against the visitors Australia.
