That brings an end to our coverage of the Serie A match between Fiorentina and Inter at Artemio Franchi. Thank you very much for joining us. Goodbye!
Fiorentina travel to face Sampdoria next time out in Serie A and will be looking to bounce back. Inter, meanwhile, host Lazio after the second leg of their semi-final clash in the Coppa Italia with Juventus.
After a closely-fought contest at Artemio Franchi, Inter take all three points and climb to the top of Serie A. Following a bright start, Barella gave Inter the lead just after the half-hour mark with a perfectly-placed strike from range. The Nerazzurri doubled their advantage seven minutes into the second half through Perisic, before Lukaku had a third chalked off for offside. Fiorentina pushed to get back into the game in the closing stages, but Inter held on to claim all the points.
90' + 3' OVER! Malcuit lines up curling a shot from distance, and it just fizzes over the bar.
90' + 2' Martinez drives at Barreca down the right side of the hosts' penalty area, but his cross into the box evades everyone in the middle.
90' There will be four minutes of added time at the end of this match.
A. Pinamonti
R. Lukaku
89' With minutes left to play in his 50th Serie A appearance, Lukaku comes off to be replaced by Pinamonti.
88' Bonaventura tries his luck from range, but his shot sails well wide to the left.
86' CLOSE! Following Pulgar’s corner from the right, Kouame climbs highest in the centre of the box, but steers his header over Handanovic’s goal.
84' Inter have kept a clean sheet in their last three Serie A games: in the last three campaigns, only once have they kept four clean sheets in a row.
A. Barreca
C. Biraghi
82' Fiorentina make their fifth and final change of the match with Barreca coming on for Biraghi. It remains 2-0.
E. Pulgar
Yellow Card
81' Pulgar is the latest player to go into the book after cynically blocking Gagliardini as Conte’s side looked to break.
M. Darmian
I. Perišić
80' Inter are forced into making their third change. The injured Perisic goes off and is replaced by Darmian.
79' There will be a brief stoppage in play as Perisic is down and in need of treatment. He is signalling to the bench that he needs to come off.
78' OVER! The resulting corner is lofted into the centre of the area, and Skriniar rises highest but cannot keep his close-range header under the bar.
77' GREAT OPPORTUNITY! Lukaku shows great strength to shield the ball from Pezzella on the edge of the box before sending Martinez away in behind. The Argentine takes a touch to set himself and his effort deflects just past the far post off Martinez Quarta.
Lucas Martínez
Yellow Card
75' Martinez Quarta goes in late on Gagliardini and picks up a yellow card for fouling the midfielder deep inside Inter’s half.
E. Pulgar
V. Eysseric
74' It is a triple change for the hosts. Eysseric makes way for Pulgar. There are 16 minutes of normal time left to play.
A. Kokorin
D. Vlahović
73' Prandelli also brings off Vlahovic for Kokorin.
K. Malcuit
L. Venuti
73' Fiorentina make their second change of the match. Malcuit comes on for Venuti.
72' Bonaventura plays in Venturi down the right flank, but his cross is too close to Handanovic.
70' Should this result stay the same, Inter will do the league double over Fiorentina for the first time since 2013/14, under Walter Mazzarri.
68' JUST WIDE! The resulting corner is swung into the box by Brozovic. Dragowski misjudges the flight of the ball, and Bastoni heads the ball wide of the far post. That was a golden opportunity.
67' ANOTHER CHANCE! Barella picks the ball up midway inside the hosts’ half and floats a cross into the back post. Gagliardini meets it and steers his header towards the bottom-left corner, but Dragowski is once again down quickly to deny Inter a third.
66' WHAT A SAVE! Following a free-kick from an advanced position, the away side cleverly work the ball into a central area for Perisic. The winger sets himself and unleashes a fierce left-footed strike from range. Dragowski watches it all the way and dives down low to his left to claw the ball out of the bottom-right corner.
64' CLOSE TO A THIRD! Inter regain possession deep inside their own half and Hakimi drives to the edge of Fiorentina’s penalty area. The wing-back looks for Perisic at the back post, but Lukaku opts to take the chance on in the middle of the box, and sends a right-footed shot wide of the near post.
Lautaro Martínez
A. Sánchez
62' Just after the hour mark, Conte introduces Martinez, as he enters the fray in place of Sanchez.
S. Amrabat
Yellow Card
60' Eysseric delivers an inviting corner from the right, and Lukaku heads it clear before Amrabat is booked for cynically bringing down Barella as he looked to launch counter. He can have no complaints with that decision.
58' Lukaku almost latched onto a deep ball over the top of the hosts’ defence, but Dragowski was alert to the threat and claimed it just inside his penalty area.
56' NO GOAL! Inter thought they had a third when Lukaku tucked in the rebound after Perisic’s initial shot was parried into a dangerous area, but, after consulting VAR, the Croatian was adjudged to have been offside earlier in the move. It remains 2-0.
54' Fiorentina have scored just 21 goals so far this season, the second fewest of any Serie A team.
A. Hakimi
52' Sanchez’s ball down the flank for Hakimi to chase was perfectly weighted, and the Moroccan did not have to break stride. After getting in behind, the wing-back picked his head up and put it on a plate for Perisic. A wonderfully well-worked goal.
I. Perišić
52' GOAL! Inter double their lead! Following some neat link-up play in the centre of the park, Sanchez plays a throughball in behind the hosts’ defence for Hakimi. The wing-back holds off his man and drives into the box, before squaring it for Perisic, who has the simplest of finishes at the far post. 2-0.
50' The home side win a free-kick in an advanced central position as Bastoni pushes Kouame to the floor. Biraghi’s deep delivery finds Pezzella at the far post, but the promising situation is dealt with by the visitors.
48' Sanchez almost jinks his way through several Fiorentina defenders, but Martinez Quarta is alert to the threat and knocks the ball behind for a corner, which comes to nothing.
47' Biraghi creates a yard of space for a cross down the left-hand side of the field, although his delivery is gathered by Handanovic.
46' We are back underway! La Penna, the referee, blows his whistle and La Viola get the second half kicked off.
C. Kouamé
Borja Valero
46' Prandelli also looks to freshen things up as he brings on Kouame for Valero.
R. Gagliardini
A. Vidal
46' Conte opts to make one half-time substitution, with Gagliardini replacing Vidal.
Despite the scoreline, Prandelli will be pleased with his team’s first-half display. The hosts have found joy down the flanks on numerous occasions, while Martinez Quarta has looked dangerous striding up from the back. Conte, meanwhile, will hope to see his side extend their lead after the break. Sanchez and Perisic have both drifted into pockets of space, and Fiorentina have thus far struggled to pick up either player.
Following an evenly-matched first half, Inter take a one-goal lead in at the break. After Barella was denied from close range early on, the Nerazzurri had to wait for the breakthrough. Just past the half-hour mark, Barella broke the deadlock as he curled a pinpoint strike from range into the bottom-right corner following a short corner. A fine double save from Handanovic denied both Bonaventura and Biraghi shortly after, before Lukaku spurned a goal opportunity to double Inter’s lead on the stroke of half-time.
45' + 1' GREAT CHANCE! Inter launch a quick counter down the left through Sanchez. The Chilean cuts onto his right foot and floats a cross towards the far post. Lukaku rises above Juilo, but sends his header over the bar. He has got to do better there!
45' There will be one minute of added time at the end of this half.
43' GREAT BLOCK! The set-piece is taken short, and Inter fail to clear Valero’s initial cross. The rebound drops to Eysseric a few yards out from goal, although his close-range shot is blocked by Lukaku.
I. Perišić
Yellow Card
42' Perisic picks up the first yellow card of the match after sliding in and taking out Venuti in an advanced position down the right-hand side of the field.
41' Martinez Quarta continues to find space on the edge of the away side’s penalty area. This time the central defender lashes a right-footed drive over the top of Handanovic’s goal.
39' The home side are pushing forward in their efforts to find an equaliser. Martinez Quarta goes for goal from distance, but his strike is closed down by Vidal.
37' SHOULD BE LEVEL! Martinez Quarta nutmegs Perisic down the right flank before picking out Bonaventura down the right side of the box. His close-range effort is tipped onto the bar by Handanovic, who is then quickly back to his feet to keep out Biraghi’s well-struck follow-up shot. That is the Inter goalkeeper at his best!
35' Skriniar launches a long, searching pass forward looking for Barella’s run, although Pezzella spots the danger and deals with it.
33' Inter have scored the most goals in Serie A this season, with Barella’s strike taking their total to 50.
A. Sánchez
31' Fiorentina overloaded the box in seeking to deal with a direct corner, and Sanchez’s quick thinking caught them out. Barella picked up a dangerous position outside the box and made the hosts pay.
N. Barella
31' WHAT A GOAL! Barella with a wonderful strike! Sanchez opts for a short corner down the left, linking up with Vidal, before the former slides a pass towards the edge of the box for Barella. The Italian gets the ball out of his feet and curls an inch-perfect strike beyond Dragowski and into the bottom-right corner. There was no stopping that! 1-0.
30' Sanchez’s cross towards the back post is sent back into the box by Perisic, before Pezzella heads it behind for a corner. The resulting set-piece is easily dealt with.
28' Lukaku picks the ball up in a tight area on the edge of La Viola’s box, and shows some neat close control to create the space for a shot. Pezzella, however, stands tall to block the effort.
27' Amrabat sends a corner from the right towards the penalty spot, which Lukaku powerfully heads clear.
25' In seeking to regain possession, Vidal pushes Valero to the ground midway inside the Inter half. Fiorentina are awarded a free-kick.
23' Perisic cuts inside from the left flank and lays the ball off to Vidal. After his initial cross is headed away, the away side regroup and loft another delivery in the box. The loose ball falls to Perisic, but his well-struck shot is blocked by Pezzella.
21' There will be a brief stoppage in play as Bastoni is down and in need of treatment following an aerial collision with Vlahovic.
19' Following some patient play, Inter look to progress down the left with Perisic. The winger attempts to drive at Venuti, but the wing-back uses his strength well and watches the ball behind for a goal-kick.
17' After Inter fail to clear their lines from a corner, Biraghi sends a cross back into the box. Vlahovic forces a save from Handanovic, but he is adjudged to have fouled Bastoni when rising to meet the delivery.
15' Perisic receives the ball down the left flank and shapes to cut inside before driving down the line and crossing. Dragowski watches the delivery all the way and easily claims it.
14' Prandelli’s team are beginning to find their rhythm in this fixture, as they continue to knock the ball around patiently looking to work an opening.
12' WIDE! Eysseric picks up the loose ball just outside of the visitors' box, and pulls a first-time shot just wide to the left of Handanovic’s goal.
10' Martinez Quarta picks out Amrabat in the centre of the field, and he sends the play down the left through Biraghi. The wing-back floats a cross into Inter’s box, which De Vrij steers away.
8' After losing possession on the edge of the hosts’ box, Hakimi impedes Valero and Fiorentina are awarded a free-kick.
6' WHAT A SAVE! Sanchez dribbles his way towards the edge of the box before laying it off to his right for Hakimi. The wing-back picks out Barella in the centre of the box, and Dragowski sticks out a strong left hand to claw the midfielder’s close-range effort away.
5' Following a corner to the left, which is conceded by Skriniar, Martinez Quarta rises above Vidal but heads the ball well over the bar.
4' Amrabat switches the play to Venuti, and he opts to play the ball back in field, before Fiorentina drive forward down the left wing. A cross into the box is then nodded to safety by De Vrij.
2' After some bright play down the right flank, Lukaku knocks the ball beyond the hosts’ defence, but Hakami is flagged for offside by the referee's assistant.
1' Kick off! The referee, Federico La Penna, blows his whistle and Inter get the game underway.
The teams are out, and kick-off will soon be upon us here at Artemio Franchi.
Fiorentina are winless in their last seven Serie A meetings against Inter (D4 L3), after having won five of the previous six.
Although Cesare Prandelli’s team have only won two of their last six home matches in Serie A, they have not lost at Artemio Franchi in that time. They have, however, kept just two clean sheets on their home unbeaten run. La Viola currently sit 11th in the table, and a win will take them one point behind 10th-placed Sampdoria. On the road, Antonio Conte’s team have lost just once in their previous six outings in the league. Should they defeat Fiorentina, the Nerazzurri will climb to the top of Serie A, one point ahead of their local rivals, AC Milan, who will have a game in hand.
The hosts make three changes from the side that drew with Torino last time out. Julio and Valero replace the suspended Nikola Milenkovic and Gaetano Castrovilli, while Franck Ribery makes way for Eysseric. Following their midweek Coppa Italia clash, Antonio Conte also makes three alterations to his team, recalling Hakimi, Perisic and Lukaku, who start in place of Darmian, Young and Martinez.
