Commentary

That's all for now though, goodbye!
They may have failed to control the game, but Arsenal will be thrilled with their creativity going forward, with Saka looking especially bright. They look well set to dominate this group now, while Frankfurt have some work to do to challenge for top spot.
Well, Arsenal win 3-0 and looked comfortable in the end, but that doesn't tell the story of the first 70 minutes. In a breathless first half, both teams created a plethora of chances, with Arsenal fortunately taking the lead through Willock's deflected effort. The second half followed a similar pattern with Dost and Kostic missing big chances, before Kohr's late red card jeopardised any comeback. Arsenal capitalised on this by finally taking two of their many openings through Saka's brilliant curling finish and Aubameyang's late strike.
90' + 3' FULL TIME: EINTRACHT FRANKFURT 0-3 ARSENAL
90' Three minutes of stoppage time are added as Arsenal continue to stream forward.
89' Torreira looks for a fourth with a cushioned header from a Pepe cross, but it gently loops over the bar.
B. Saka
Assist
Arsenal
87' Saka's had a dream night and it gets better with his second assist - this time a threaded through ball splitting the heart of the defence!
P. Aubameyang
Goal
Arsenal
87' ANOTHER FOR ARSENAL! 3-0! The away side are rampant now and Saka's at the heart of it again! This time he dispossesses Kamada 30 yards from goal, before slipping Aubameyang clean through on goal and he makes no mistake on this occasion, rolling it beyond a helpless Trapp.
N. Pépé
Assist
Arsenal
86' Pepe selflessly laid that off to Saka after a superb run, and the Arsenal youngster finished it beautifully!
B. Saka
Goal
Arsenal
85' GOAL FOR ARSENAL! That makes it 2-0 and that should be the win secured now for the London club. Arsenal initiate another counter-attack with Pepe finding Saka in space on the edge of the box. The Arsenal attacker rolls the ball out of his feet, before slamming a curling effort into the bottom corner from 25 yards!
84' What a chance for Arsenal! Ceballos latches onto a long, aerial pass and hammers a volley across the face of goal, and Aubameyang - with an open net at his mercy - somehow manages to scuff his shot wide!
C. Chambers
Yellow Card
Arsenal
83' Chambers is now shown a yellow card for hauling down the dangerous Kostic 30 yards out.
D. Kamada
Yellow Card
Eintracht Frankfurt
82' Kamada's booked for a dangerous studs-up challenge on Ceballos - Frankfurt look like their frustration's getting the better of them.
A. Maitland-Niles
S. Kolašinac
Arsenal
80' Kolasinac makes way for Maitland-Niles as Arsenal, perhaps, seek to avoid a red card of their own.
D. Kohr
Yellow 2nd/RC
Eintracht Frankfurt
79' Red card for Kohr! Frankfurt's problems have just mounted considerably! Saka makes up for his earlier miss by drawing a cynical trip from Kohr, who's given a second yellow card for stopping the breakaway. The hosts are furious with the decision, but they can have little complaint there.
78' Arsenal almost wrap it up! Aubameyang's shot from 25 yards is deflected into the path of Saka in plenty of space, but with only Trapp to beat he hits a weak shot straight at the German goalkeeper.
77' Frankfurt might be running out of ideas slightly: Kostic wastes the latest chance by attempting a flamboyant bicycle-kick that drifts wide from the edge of the box.
S. Kolašinac
Yellow Card
Arsenal
75' Kolasinac dwells on a throw-in and the referee strictly books him for timewasting.
T. Chandler
D. da Costa
Eintracht Frankfurt
74' Da Costa is replaced by Chandler on the right flank with Eintracht looking for an injection of creativity to get back on level terms.
73' Eintracht’s last three meetings with English opponents have all finished level, with the German side drawing 1-1 with Chelsea in both legs of last season’s Europa League semi-final, before being eliminated on penalties. With the way this game's going, you wouldn't be surprised if they found an equaliser and continued this record.
Dani Ceballos
J. Willock
Arsenal
72' Willock is replaced by Ceballos as Arsenal search for a little more energy in midfield entering the final 20 minutes.
71' Frankfurt win a succession of corners and begin to pin Arsenal in their own half. None of their deliveries can quite produce an opening, however.
70' Paciencia turns David Luiz on the edge of the box and fires a left-footed shot comfortably into Martinez's arms. The sub's looked bright immediately after coming on though.
68' A breathless passage of play begins with Willock driving into the Frankfurt box and fizzing a shot into Trapp's legs, before Kostic breaks for the home side and wins a corner after his long-range effort is deflected behind.
Gonçalo Paciência
B. Dost
Eintracht Frankfurt
66' Dost - who's been guilty of wasting a few openings so far - is replaced by Saturday's goalscorer, Paciencia.
65' Eintracht attempt an intricate routine from the set-piece, but they get it all wrong and end up harmlessly lofting a cross out for a goal kick.
J. Willock
Yellow Card
Arsenal
64' Kostic turns Willock on the edge of the box and wins a dangerous free-kick that also earns the Arsenal man a yellow card.
63' Kolasinac makes a foray forward and delivers a deep, looping cross from the left that Hinteregger just manages to nudge clear.
D. Kohr
Yellow Card
Eintracht Frankfurt
62' Kohr is booked for cynically dragging Pepe down as Arsenal attempt to get another counter-attack started.
N. Pépé
E. Smith Rowe
Arsenal
60' Smith Rowe is replaced by Pepe as Arsenal seemingly look to double their advantage.
58' What a chance for Frankfurt! Kostic is allowed to advance all the way into Arsenal's box from the left-wing, and he picks out Silva perfectly eight yards out. Silva has plenty of time, but opts to strike it first time and his effort flies desperately over the bar.
56' Arsenal have a succession of non-threatening corners cleared before Frankfurt finally regain possession.
55' Arsenal hit the bar! Xhaka swings in a free-kick from near the corner flag and it loops over everyone and clips the bar! Surely he didn't mean that?
53' Torreira loses it carelessly to the pressing Frankfurt midfielders in his own half, and Kohr fires a pass to Kostic who can only hit a tame shot safely into Martinez's grasp from distance.
51' Willock and Saka play a sharp one-two, before the former plays a searching pass forward that Hinteregger does brilliantly to poke away from Aubameyang.
49' Another big chance for Frankfurt! Kostic slips Silva in behind David Luiz, and the Brazillian can't keep up, leaving Silva free to fire a wasteful shot over the onrushing Martinez from eight yards.
48' Mustafi does excellently to cut out Da Costa's low cross just as Dost was circling to tap it in.
47' Big chance for Frankfurt already! The hosts have a corner cleared, but only as far as Kamada who flights in a second delivery that finds Dost free six yards out, but he can only plant his header wide of the left hand post. He didn't realise how much time he had there!
46' There were 21 shots in the first period as the game veered out of control. Both teams recklessly threw men forward and you wonder if either will take a more conservative approach.
45' Frankfurt get us underway for the second half attacking from left to right.
Arsenal will be hoping to tighten the game up in the second period, but if the next 45 minutes is anything like the first half you wouldn't be surprised if there were more goals in this.
That was an exciting, end-to-end 45 minutes which I'm sure delighted the neutral. Both teams look fragile at the back, but potent going forwards and it resulted in a half of many openings. Arsenal started brightly, with Torreira squandering a huge chance from Saka's measured cross. However, Frankfurt worked their way into the game and were unfortunate not take the lead from one of Kostic's many opportunities. However, Arsenal grew in strength and capitalised on a nervy defence to take the lead through Willock's deflected strike.
45' + 1' HALF TIME: EINTRACHT FRANKFURT 0-1 ARSENAL
44' Big save from Martinez! Da Costa gallops down the right before squaring the ball to Kohr, who slips Silva in behind the Arsenal defence. The Frankfurt striker hammers a low shot from eight yards at an angle, but Martinez is there again to parry the fierce effort to safety.
42' Arsenal have really exploited Eintracht's back three when they counter. They always have four, quick attacking players available to run at the German side's defence and it's causing the hosts a lot of problems.
40' The hosts look exposed again as Saka races away again to create a three on three, but Hasebe slides across to dispossess him and remove the danger.
B. Saka
Assist
Arsenal
39' Saka's looked promising on Arsenal's left flank, and he converts this into a deserved assist after an incisive breakaway.
J. Willock
Goal
Arsenal
38' GOAL FOR ARSENAL! 1-0! Saka kickstarts an Arsenal counter-attack by jinking past Kohr, before sliding Willock in behind the Frankfurt defence. The Arsenal attacker cuts inside before hitting a curling effort that takes a wicked deflection and loops over Trapp, off the underside of the bar, and in!
36' Saka bursts in behind Da Costa, and almost threads a pass across the face of goal to Aubamyeang but Hasebe slides in to make a great interception and cut out the danger.
34' Despite their obvious defensive frailty, Arsenal have had four shots inside the box - three of which they should have converted. Frankfurt will be wary of their creativity on the break as this game wears on.
32' Great save from Trapp! Arsenal have another huge chance to take the lead as Xhaka does brilliantly to rob Sow on the halfway line, before releasing Smith Rowe clean through. However, Trapp zooms out quickly and Smith Rowe can only place his shot straight at the German goalkeeper!
30' What a chance for Arsenal! Aubameyang's looking threatening on the break and this time he races onto Saka's pass before crossing for Willock who fires a half-volley just wide from five yards. That was similar to Torreira's glaring miss earlier.
28' Da Costa shimmies his way past a few challenges down the right-hand side, before delivering a cross that's blocked for a corner. From the set-piece, Hinteregger's volley slams against Mustafi and Arsenal clear.
27' Well, Arsenal looked bright in the opening 10 minutes, but since then the hosts have dominated. Kostic has been afforded far too much room by Chambers and he's been the architect of many of these Frankfurt opportunities.
25' Dost cuts the ball back from the byline towards Da Costa on the edge of the box, but he can only hit a weak shot straight at Martinez.
23' Great save from Martinez! Kostic is released in behind Chambers again, and he advances into the box before lashing a fierce effort across the face of goal which Martinez superbly fends to safety!
22' Aubameyang takes on Abraham just outside the box and works enough space for a shot across the face of goal that swerves a few yards wide from 20 yards.
21' Frankfurt go close again! Kostic is wide open down the left flank once more, and this time he hammers a cross low into the six-yard box, where it deflects off a defender before Dost picks up the loose ball and fires an effort just over the bar.
20' Silva finds a little space in the box for the hosts now, but he can't quite engineer room to shoot and Arsenal clear the danger for a corner.
18' Huge chance for Frankfurt! Kostic times his run perfectly and finds himself clean through on goal after Silva's measured pass. All he has to do is slide a pass across goal for a tap in, but he elects to slash a shot at the near post and it rifles into the side netting!
17' After the physio comes on, Torreira's deemed okay to play on for the time being.
16' Torreira's in a lot of pain here and will need treatment. The midfielder was trying to latch onto a cute Saka reverse pass, but Trapp got there first and Torriera landed awkwardly avoiding the German goalkeeper.
14' Arsenal miss another big chance! Sow attempts a rangy switch but miscalculates his pass entirely and it runs to Saka. The young left-winger speeds towards goal and only has to slip Aubameyang behind in a two on one situation, but Hasebe does brilliantly to cut out the pass and stop a certain goal!
M. Hinteregger
Yellow Card
Eintracht Frankfurt
12' Hinteregger is booked for cynically tugging Smith Rowe's shirt just inside the Arsenal half.
11' Sow drives through an inviting gap in the Arsenal midfield before laying it off to Silva. The Portuguese striker takes a touch and cracks off a shot from 25 yards that slides just wide of the far corner.
9' Aubameyang stretches the Frankfurt defence by sprinting onto a hopeful Willock through ball, before Smith Rowe sends in a looping cross that just evades Saka at the back post.
7' Frankfurt initially waste a set-piece near the centre circle, but the defender Hinteregger stays up and he almost reaches the second ball into the box before it drifts to Martinez.
5' Arsenal go close! Torreira had to score! A smart interchange between Saka and Aubameyang sends the former to the byline, and he stands up a perfect cross to the far post for an unmarked Torreira, who inexplicably cushions his volley from six yards over the bar. What a let-off!
4' Kostic makes progress down the left flank and eventually finds a square pass to Sow 25 yards from goal, and he lashes a shot straight at Martinez.
3' The home fans are creating an intense atmosphere and Arsenal will naturally be fearful of Frankfurt's home record. Including qualifiers, Eintracht are unbeaten in their last 16 home games in European competition (W12 D4), since a 1-2 defeat against Palermo in the 2006-07 UEFA Cup.
1' Willock turns Kohr on the halfway line but runs into the sturdy Frankfurt backline and the away side surrender possession early on.
1' Arsenal get us underway attacking from left to right.
The players are emerging from the tunnel here and kick off is seconds away!
Today will be the first ever competitive meeting between the clubs, but Arsenal will still have reason to fear playing away in Germany: they’ve lost their last four away European games against German opponents, scoring twice and conceding 13 in the process.
Frankfurt make three changes from their disappointing defeat to Augsburg on Saturday, with Dost, Kostic and Kohr all experienced pros entering the XI. Arsenal, meanwhile, make seven changes as they name a notably youthful side. The untested, attacking triumvirate of Saka, Willock and Smith-Rowe should be exciting to watch in particular.

Hello and welcome to this Europa League Group F fixture between Eintracht Frankfurt and Arsenal. Both sides were eliminated by Chelsea in the latter stages of last year’s competition and will once again target winning the Europa League as a means of qualifying for the Champions League in 2020. A victory today for either club will put them in the driving seat for winning the group even at this early stage.
