8th Finals
UEFA Europa League

Thank you for following our coverage today. Until next time, goodbye!
The Blues will be looking to build on their momentum when they host Sheffield United in the Premier League on Saturday. The same day, Rennes travel to face Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint-Germain at Parc des Princes.
Chelsea ease to a comfortable 3-0 victory over Rennes at Stamford Bridge. A pair of first-half penalties from Timo Werner was followed by Tammy Abraham's strike early in the second as the Blues consolidated their place at the top of Group E in the Champions League.
90' + 3' Chance! Giroud onside as he peels away at the far post to meet Hudson-Odoi's cross, but is unable to direct his header on target.
90' + 1' We are into the first of three added minutes at the end of this game.
R. Del Castillo
Yellow Card
89' Del Castillo is booked for a foul on Werner.
87' Chelsea going through the motions as the clock ticks down at Stamford Bridge. Their focus will be fully on preserving this clean sheet.
85' Rennes threaten once more with Hunou turning and shooting on the edge of the box. But his effort is always rising.
83' Good save! Following a good move by the visitors down the right, the ball is pulled back to Grenier on the edge of the area. However, Mendy is alert to deny the substitute.
81' This will be Rennes' third consecutive defeat on English soil. They were also beaten by Aston Villa in the 2001 Intertoto Cup and Arsenal in the 2018-19 Europa League.
M. Kovačić
Yellow Card
79' Kovacic has his name taken after accidentally catching Grenier in the face with his trailing arm.
A. Hunou
S. Guirassy
76' A quiet game for Guirassy comes to an end. He is replaced by Adrien Hunou.
C. Hudson-Odoi
H. Ziyech
75' That was Ziyech's last action in this game. He goes off to be replaced by Callum Hudson-Odoi.
74' Good save! A poor ball presents another opportunity for Chelsea to attack. Ziyech threads the ball through for Giroud, but the substitute is denied by Gomis.
72' Things do not get any easier for Rennes, whose next outing being a trip to the French capital to face Paris Saint-Germain. They will certainly have their work cut out there.
70' Can Chelsea see this out with another clean sheet? If they did, it would be the first time the Blues had started a Champions League campaign with three on the bounce since the 2009-10 season.
A. Rüdiger
Thiago Silva
68' Another change for Chelsea sees Silva go off to be replaced by Antonio Rudiger.
67' GREAT DEFENDING! A marvellous crossfield ball from Silva releases James down the right. The England full-back delivers a terrific cross, which Da Silva just gets his toe on the end of to prevent Werner from completing his hat-trick.
Yellow Card
65' Jorginho is booked for a late challenge on Del Castillo.
B. Chilwell
63' The final Blues sub sees Emerson introduced in favour of Chilwell.
O. Giroud
T. Abraham
63' Olivier Giroud replaces Abraham in Chelsea's second change.
M. Kovačić
N. Kanté
62' Chelsea also make three changes. The first sees Mateo Kovacic come on for Kante.
J. Doku
M. Terrier
62' Jeremy Doku comes on for Terrier in the visitors' final substitution.
R. Del Castillo
Y. Gboho
62' Gboho is replaced by Romain Del Castillo in Rennes' second sub.
C. Grenier
S. Nzonzi
62' A triple-change for Rennes. The first sees Nzonzi make way for Clement Grenier.
60' As we hit the hour mark at Stamford Bridge, it is very much one-way traffic in Chelsea's favour. Can they add more goals?
57' Barring a miraculous turnaround, Rennes are on course for what would be their sixth consecutive defeat on the road in Europe. Their main focus will be on keeping the score down.
54' Chelsea looking so comfortable inside the opening 10 minutes of the second half. The Blues in cruise control as they close in on a second victory in this season's Champions League.
52' Abraham's first goal since the end of September is also Chelsea's 16th at Stamford Bridge in their last five games. The Blues will certainly sense a great opportunity to add to that tally here.
R. James
50' James was the provider with a terrific cross for Abraham to attack.
T. Abraham
50' ABRAHAM!!! 3-0 CHELSEA! The Blues have been knocking on the door and they have their third goal! Good link-up play down the right sees James deliver a delicious cross, which Abraham turns home from inside the six-yard box.
49' Good defending! Almost a third for Chelsea, but Aguerd makes a crucial intervention with Abraham waiting for a tap-in from Chilwell's cross.
47' Good save! Great reflexes from Gomis to deny Abraham, who latched onto Jorginho's precise through ball. It would not have counted anyway, however, as the offside flag had been raised.
46' AWAY WE GO! We're off and running again as Chelsea get the ball rolling.
A. Truffert
J. Lea Siliki
46' Rennes make a change at the break with Lea Siliki replaced by Adrien Truffert.
A very comfortable opening 45 minutes for the Blues, who will be targeting more of the same after the restart. As for Rennes, it will more than likely be a case of damage limitation with their numerical disadvantage.
Two penalties from Timo Werner have given Chelsea breathing space at half-time against Rennes, who have also been reduced to 10 men following the dismissal of Dalbert.
45' We are going to have three additional minutes at the end of this first half.
43' Three goals in three games for Werner in this season's Champions League. The German has now been directly involved in 13 goals in his last 14 appearances in this competition.
T. Werner
Penalty Goal
41' WERNER!!! 2-0 CHELSEA! Same side, same result for Werner as he doubles his and Chelsea's tally! The German sends his penalty high into the roof of the net and the Blues are cruising here.
40' RED CARD FOR DALBERT! Rennes are down to 10 men as Dalbert is shown a second yellow card for that handball incident. It appeared harsh in all fairness.
40' PENALTY TO CHELSEA! VAR comes into play after Abraham's shot appears to hit the arm of Dalbert. Following a lengthy delay and consultation with the pitchside monitor, the referee points to the spot.
37' A worry for Chelsea as Mount stays down after he is accidentally caught on the back of the ankle by Traore. The England international is limping as he gets to his feet, but should be alright to carry on.
35' Of course, Chelsea are looking to continue their impressive defensive record of recent times. The Blues arrived in this game off the back of four consecutive clean sheets in all competitions.
33' Bourigeaud whips the free-kick towards goal from a tight angle. His delivery flashes wide of the far post, although Mendy appeared to have it covered.
H. Ziyech
Yellow Card
32' Ziyech is booked for bringing down Dalbert, who was threatening to burst into the penalty area from the left flank.
30' Zouma forward as Chelsea force a corner on the far side. The Blues opt to take it short and Rennes do well to deal with the danger.
28' Should Ziyech score today, he would become only the third Chelsea player to score in his first two Champions League starts for the club. The other two to achieve the feat were Didier Drogba and Daniel Sturridge.
N. Kanté
Yellow Card
26' Kante is shown a yellow card for kicking the ball away after Zouma was penalised for dragging down Giurassy.
24' Ziyech looks to race onto a long through ball. However, Gomis is quickly out of goal to beat the winger to it in the nick of time.
22' Chelsea can be pleased with their performance so far as we hit the midway point in the first half. The Blues have generally been in control and look good value for their lead.
20' The visitors look to threaten with Dalbert delivering a cross from the left. However, his delivery is easily dealt with by Zouma.
18' The French side have now conceded 19 goals in their last 13 away games in Europe. They have kept just one clean sheet during that span.
16' Rennes try to play out from the back but loose possession allows Kante to put them under pressure. Fortunately for the visitors, they are able to snuff out the midfielder's threat on this occasion.
14' The Blues now five goals to their name in Group E already. Werner's penalty was also their 14th goal in five home games.
12' Chelsea lead courtesy of Werner's ninth goal in his last 14 Champions League appearances. It is also the seventh goal he has been directly involved in during his seven most recent outings in Europe's premier competition.
T. Werner
Penalty Goal
10' GOAL!!! 1-0 CHELSEA! Werner steps up and although Gomis gets a hand to his penalty, the power takes it beyond the Rennes goalkeeper. The Blues lead at Stamford Bridge.
Dalbert Henrique
Yellow Card
9' Dalbert is booked for bringing down Werner in the box.
9' PENALTY TO CHELSEA! The referee points to the spot after Werner is tripped by Dalbert in the box. The German is going to take the kick himself...
8' Good try! Controlling the ball just outside the area, Ziyech looks to lob Gomis with a quickly taken volley. However, his effort is just too high on this occasion.
7' The visitors have a half-hearted appeal for a penalty after the ball strikes the hand of Zouma in the box. But the referee is not interested.
6' Rennes launch their maiden attack and force the first corner of the game. Can they test the Chelsea defence with this opportunity?
4' Chelsea have only been beaten once in their last 15 home games in the Champions League group stage. The Blues have been victorious in nine of those.
2' A positive run down the right by James, who delivers an inviting cross, but Rennes just about manage to scramble the ball away.
1' OFF WE GO! The referee blows his whistle and Rennes get us underway!
The two teams are making their way out onto the field. Kick-off is just moments away.
This is the first-ever meeting between the sides. Chelsea are aiming to continue their impressive record against French opposition in the Champions League, having lost just once in their previous nine outings.
As for Rennes, Julien Stephan makes two changes from Saturday's victory against Brest in Ligue 1. There are recalls for Yann Gboho and Benjamin Bourigeaud, with Jeremy Doku and Romain Del Castillo dropping to the bench. Daniele Rugani and Eduardo Camavinga miss out through injury.
Frank Lampard makes just a single change to side that began Chelsea's 3-0 win over Burnley on Saturday. Jorginho returns in midfield to captain the side in place of Kai Havertz, who misses the game after testing positive for Coronavirus. Christian Pulisic is also absent with a hamstring injury.
