UEFA Europa League

Thanks for joining our commentary this evening. Until next time, goodbye.
Brighton face Liverpool on the road in their next Premier League match on Wednesday. Tottenham host Chelsea in their next outing on Thursday.
Brighton and Hove Albion secure their first home win of the Premier League season, defeating Tottenham 1-0 at the Amex Stadium. Leandro Trossard scored the only goal of the game in the first half to deliver the three points. The Seagulls could have won by a wider margin, but Aaron Connolly and Neal Maupay missed opportunities. The result moves Graham Potter's men seven points clear of the relegation zone, while Spurs lose their second game on the bounce.
90' + 4' Tottenham have one final chance to pump the ball forward in a desperate search for an equaliser.
90' + 3' The Seagulls battle to win a corner on the left flank. The home side are almost over the line.
90' + 1' Vinicius takes possession in the right inside channel and he forces a pass to Son. He offloads into space for Lamela, but the Argentine sees his effort blocked by a wall of Brighton defenders.
90' There will be four minutes of added time.
89' March does well at the back for the Seagulls. First he intercepts Vinicius' pass to Bergwijn before drawing a foul from the Dutchman. The free-kick will allow the home side to take further time off the clock.
87' Lamela lines up an ambitious strike at goal from the free-kick, but his effort is comfortably saved by Sanchez.
D. Burn
Yellow Card
86' Burn catches Son with an arm to the face and goes into the book. Spurs have a free-kick in a useful position.
84' WHAT A BLOCK! Alderweireld keeps Spurs in the game as he denies Connolly with a goal-saving block. Gross surges into the right inside channel and cuts his cross back to Connolly. The forward should have a simple finish, but his goalbound effort is diverted wide of the post by Alderweireld.
84' Vinicius steers an offload back to the feet of Moura, but he sees his effort charged down by Dunk.
81' Spurs appeal for a penalty as Webster's clearance hits Dunk on the arm, but it was right by the side of the Brighton skipper along with being in close proximity to his team-mate. The referee rightfully dismisses the claim.
80' Sissoko and Son try to force the issue down the right flank, but the Brighton defence holds firm to clear their lines.
A. Lallana
N. Maupay
79' Lallana is on to offer his experience in the midfield in the closing stages to replace Maupay.
A. Connolly
L. Trossard
79' Connolly replaces Trossard in the final third for the home side.
77' Gross releases Trossard through on goal and the winger surges into the box. Lamela gets back to make the covering challenge, although the Belgian was offside anyway. Trossard appears to have hurt himself as a result of the tackle.
75' CHANCE! Davies rolls an offload to Vinicius and he curls a left-footed strike towards goal with power on the turn. Sanchez does brilliantly to react to turn his effort past the left post.
75' SAVE! Son cuts in from the left flank and shoots towards goal. His effort lacks power and Sanchez picks it out of the air with ease.
E. Lamela
T. Ndombèlé
74' Ndombele hobbles off the pitch after the challenge by Maupay and is replaced Lamela.
73' CHANCE! March steers a cross into the box from the left flank and Maupay does well to drift between Rodon and Alderweireld. He rises to head at goal, but can only glance his header wide of the target.
D. Burn
J. Veltman
72' Veltman is withdrawn for Burn, which could see a reshuffle for the home side. White may slide out to wing-back, while Burn slots into the defence.
N. Maupay
Yellow Card
71' Maupay slides in hard on Ndombele and goes into the book.
68' SHOT! Mac Allister is teed up following excellent interplay between Gross and Trossard. He shoots with power, but Hojbjerg gets in the way and diverts it into the arms of Lloris.
T. Alderweireld
Yellow Card
67' Alderweireld is late on Mac Allister in the middle of the park and goes into the book.
64' BLOCK! Alderweireld puts in another desperate block at the back for the visitors, denying Mac Allister in the left inside channel. Brighton cut open Spurs with ease as Gross and Maupay combine to release the Argentine attacker, but he could not get through Alderweireld.
Lucas Moura
G. Bale
61' Bale has been underwhelming to say the least tonight. He is withdrawn for Moura for the visitors.
61' Brighton break with menace in the final third, but neither Maupay nor Trossard can pull the trigger following a cutback from March in the box.
60' Davies makes a vital block in the left inside channel to prevent Veltman's cross from finding Gross in the middle. The German would have had an opening at goal if not for the Spurs left-back.
58' Brighton continue to be the more active team in the final third. Mourinho is beginning to look a tad concerned by his side's performance in the second half.
56' SAVE! Lloris has to react on the line to deny White. The defender steers an effort towards goal following a cross from Gross, which takes a deflection, but the Tottenham keeper makes the save before gathering at the second attempt.

52' There has not been a huge response from the visitors since the restart. Mourinho will be demanding more from his team.
51' Sissoko cuts a pass back to Son on the edge of the box, but he sees his effort charged down by Webster.
49' Brighton continue to work the ball well in the final third. Maupay and Trossard combine, but the offload from the latter inadvertently finds Gross in an offside position.
46' We're back underway at the Amex Stadium.
Carlos Vinícius
D. Sánchez
46' Sanchez is withdrawn for the visitors and is replaced by Vinicius. Spurs will change their shape to accommodate the forward.
Jose Mourinho will be furious with Tottenham's display in the first half. They didn't lay a glove on the Seagulls in the final third. It was going to be difficult without Harry Kane, but Spurs have been lacklustre to say the least in their forward play. Brighton have not won at home this season therefore there's still hope for the visitors to force a positive result from the contest.
Brighton and Hove Albion lead Tottenham 1-0 at the break in their Premier League clash. Leandro Trossard notched his first goal since the opening day of the season, converting Pascal Gross' cutback into the bottom-right corner. The Seagulls have been in complete command, but were not able to get the second goal to give them comfort heading into the second period. There's still work ahead for Graham Potter and his men.
45' + 1' WIDE! Maupay gets the better of Sanchez in the left inside channel and turns away from goal. He offloads to Mac Allister, who takes a touch before firing at goal. However, the Argentinian slices his effort wide of the right post.

37' BLOCK! Bale is in the right place at the right time for the visitors. Dunk rises to power a header at goal from Gross' corner. His effort travels towards the target, but the Welshman is well positioned to head it over his own bar.
37' Mac Allister gets the ball out of his feet 25 yards from goal and lines up a drive. Sanchez puts his body on the line to divert his effort over the bar.
36' March floats a cross into the box, but the Tottenham defence are resolute as Alderweireld rises to win the all-important first header.

32' Trossard runs at the Tottenham defence and surges all the way into the right inside channel. He cuts a pass back to Maupay with his back to goal, but Alderweireld makes the crucial intervention to prevent the forward firing at goal.
30' WIDE! Spurs have space in the final third as Son offloads to Bergwijn on the edge of the box. The Dutchman strikes an effort low on his right foot towards goal, but Sanchez watches it past the left post.

20' Mac Allister lines up an overhead kick in the Tottenham box that evades Maupay and allows the visitors to clear for now. Spurs are under huge pressure at the back.
19' The Seagulls probe down the right flank once more. Davies has to clear behind for a corner from Veltman's cross.
18' Six of Trossard's seven Premier League goals have come at the Amex Stadium.
P. Groß

9' Hojbjerg releases a pass to Bale, and the Welshman turns to fire at goal, only to blast his attempt wide. However, Bale was offside anyway.
8' Bissouma catches Hojbjerg late and gives away a free-kick in the middle of the park. The Brighton man avoids a booking for his challenge.
7' Bale tries to challenge Webster in the air, and the Welshman wins a free-kick for the visitors.
5' The Seagulls are attempting to get their foot on the ball in the early stages of the game to build a rhythm to their passing game.
3' OFF THE POST! Brighton come inches away from taking the lead. Maupay turns and offloads to Mac Allister in the box. He works a pass in tight quarters towards Gross. The German strikes an effort with the outside of his right boot, but the ball hits the post and bounces away from goal.
2' Bergwijn leads a break up the field down the left flank and feeds Son. The South Korean tries to pick out Bale on the right flank, but misplaces his offload out for a throw-in.
1' We're underway at the Amex Stadium.
Brighton and Hove Albion have lost five of their seven Premier League matches against Spurs (W1 D1), with their only win coming at the Amex Stadium last season.
Spurs are without Kane due to his ankle injury sustained against Liverpool. The England captain's absence triggers one of four changes that Mourinho has made to the side that started against Liverpool. Bale replaces Kane in the final third, while Sanchez and Alderweireld return to the backline. Doherty, Dier and Aurier make way as Sissoko gets the nod to start at right wing-back. Spurs' 16-year-old prospect Devine features on the bench for the first time in a Premier League game.
Brighton are unchanged from their side that drew 0-0 against Fulham. Maupay continues to lead the line with Trossard. Potter starts with March and Veltman in the wing-back positions. Webster, White and Dunk have been solid of late and will look to defy Spurs this evening, aiming to keep a third clean sheet on the bounce in the league.
TOTTENHAM SUBS: Matt Doherty, Harry Winks, Erik Lamela, Joe Hart, Eric Dier, Japhet Tanganga, Lucas Moura, Carlos Vinicius, Alfie Devine.
TOTTENHAM (3-4-3): Hugo Lloris; Joe Rodon, Toby Alderweireld, Davinson Sanchez; Moussa Sissoko, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Tanguy Ndombele, Ben Davies; Gareth Bale, Steven Bergwijn, Son Heung-min.
BRIGHTON SUBS: Aaron Connolly, Adam Lallana, Jakub Moder, Steven Alzate, Jose Izquierdo, Percy Tau, Andi Zeqiri, Christian Walton, Dan Burn.
BRIGHTON (3-5-2): Robert Sanchez; Ben White, Lewis Dunk, Adam Webster; Joel Veltman, Pascal Gross, Yves Bissouma, Alexis Mac Allister, Solly March; Neal Maupay, Leandro Trossard.
Tottenham's inconsistent form has seen them fall off the pace in the Premier League title race and they are now battling for a place in the top four. Jose Mourinho and his men were well beaten by Liverpool last time out, suffering a 3-1 defeat on home soil. Spurs need to muster a response to their disappointing result, although the absence of Harry Kane will make life difficult this evening.
Brighton have strung together two valuable results over the last two weeks to distance themselves from the relegation zone in the Premier League. The Seagulls are four points clear of the drop zone, but their win over Leeds United and goalless draw against Fulham last time out have edged them away from danger for now. However, Graham Potter and his men cannot afford to rest on their laurels and need a strong outing tonight.
Good evening and welcome to the live commentary of the Premier League clash between Brighton and Hove Albion and Tottenham at the Amex Stadium.
