Commentary

Thanks for joining our commentary this evening. Until next time, goodbye.
Arsenal face Premier League leaders Liverpool at Anfield in their crunch clash on Saturday, while Brighton play Everton at the Amex Stadium.
Arsenal are forced to settle for a point on the road against Brighton and Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium. The Seagulls were the better side this evening and deserved their point, although they didn't quite have the quality when it mattered the most to push for the victory. Unai Emery's men had a bright start to the contest and took the lead through Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. However, they lost their way and were never able to gain the upper hand. Jurgen Locadia capitalised on a defensive mistake from Stephan Lichtsteiner before rounding Bernd Leno to equalise. There were chances for the home side in the second half, but Locadia, Davy Propper and Solly March were unable to find the net. Both sides take a share of the spoils.
90' + 3' FULL-TIME: BRIGHTON AND HOVE ALBION 1-1 ARSENAL
90' + 3' Andone nearly weaves his way through the Arsenal defence in the dying seconds, but Sokratis comes up with a vital block to stop his cutback.
90' + 2' Arsenal win a corner, but they fail to put the home side under pressure. It appears as though they will have to settle for a point.
90' There will be three minutes of added time.
89' Propper wins the ball high up the field and feeds Bernardo. He sends a cross to the back post for the run of March, but the winger fails to take the delivery in stride.
88' Brighton continue to work hard at the back and Knockaert quells an attacking move from Torreira, earning a goal-kick for his team.
A. Knockaert
J. Locadia
86' Locadia is withdrawn for Knockaert.
84' CLOSE! Arsenal almost sneak a goal out of nothing. March clears the ball, but it strikes the leg of Iwobi and rolls towards the net. Fortunately for the hosts, it keeps going wide of the target, although Ryan was concerned to say the least.
82' Locadia collects in space on the left flank and he cuts back to send a right-footed cross into the box, but Sokratis is well placed to head clear of danger.
S. Kolašinac
Yellow Card
81' Torreira was not happy that he did not get a free-kick in the final third and his outburst has earned him a booking.
80' WIDE! Torreira loses out on the edge of the Brighton box and the home side turn defence into attack. Stephens finds Locadia in space on the left flank and he opens up room for a drive at goal, but he places his strike just wide of the target.
F. Andone
G. Murray
79' Murray is replaced by Andone for the home side.
77' OVER! Stephens releases March with a lofted ball over the top and he breaks away from Xhaka. Leno is off his line, which sees the winger go for goal first time with a lob, only to clip his attempt over the bar.
75' Bernardo loses possession on the edge of his own box to Ramsey and the Welshman finds Aubameyang, but before the striker can pull the trigger, Duffy is across to make the vital intervention. A huge moment for the Seagulls.
73' Ramsey offloads into space for Maitland-Niles and he tries to force a cutback towards the Welshman in the middle, but the home side have enough men back to clear the danger.
71' Bernardo loses out to Maitland-Niles, allowing the Arsenal man to surge forward into space. However, the Brighton full-back gets back to make the vital challenge on the edge of the box.
A. Maitland-Niles
L. Koscielny
70' Koscielny makes way for Maitland-Niles, which may see Lichtsteiner shift inside.
70' There has been no impetus about Arsenal's play in the second half. The Seagulls have nullified their threat and may fancy their chances of snatching all three points.
68' Ramsey tries to curl an ambitious offload towards the run of Lichtsteiner, but his pass evades the Swiss in the right inside channel and travels out for a goal-kick.
67' Arsenal's last shot on target came in the 30th minute - they've only had one attempt in the second half so far.
66' This is a test of Arsenal's mettle this season. Under Arsene Wenger, the Gunners lost the fixture at the Amex Stadium in the last campaign. It appears today's result could be a good barometer of their progress under Emery.
64' The Gunners are still struggling to find their way in the second half. Brighton are the team that are knocking the ball around with relative ease.
A. Ramsey
A. Lacazette
62' Lacazette has not been able to get into the game in the second half and he makes way for Ramsey.
59' CHANCE! Propper misses a huge opportunity to put his side ahead. Gross switches play to release Locadia on the left flank and the winger tees up Propper on the charge in the box. The Dutchman sees his first effort blocked, but the ball bounces back towards him to strike on the half-volley, only for him to place his strike wide of the target.
G. Murray
Yellow Card
58' Murray takes out Guendouzi from behind and goes into the book.
57' Arsenal are trying to up the ante and find their rhythm in their passing game. However, the home side's pressing is making life difficult to move the ball out from the back.
55' The Seagulls have come out with energy in the second half and are putting the visitors under pressure across the pitch.
53' WIDE! March has success down the right flank and he whips a dangerous cross into the middle. Propper rises to head at goal, only to send his effort wide of the target.
51' From the resulting corner, Leno commits to claim the cross, but he gets caught in the process. He boots the ball out of play after making the catch to receive treatment.
50' SAVE! Bernardo leads a breakout from the back for the home side, fending off three challenges before working the ball to March. The attack looks to have petered out before March drops his shoulder and fires at goal on his left foot towards the bottom corner, but Leno turns the ball behind for a corner.
48' Lacazette raids forward through the middle of the field and tries to fire at goal. His effort is charged down, but Lichtsteiner forces a ball across the face of goal, but Montoya is on hand to head behind.
46' We're back underway at the Amex Stadium.
A. Iwobi
M. Özil
46' Ozil is withdrawn at the break and is replaced by Iwobi. The German was not at his best in the opening 45 minutes.
It has been the story of Arsenal's season that they've not been at their best in the opening 45 minutes. The Gunners played good football at times, including their move to take the lead through Aubameyang. However, they allowed the contest to drift and were punished for a piece of loose defending, leaving the match in the balance at the break.
It's all square at the break between Brighton and Hove Albion and Arsenal at the break at the Amex Stadium. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang put the Gunners ahead with a neat finish, but the home side levelled 10 minutes before half time when Jurgen Locadia pounced on a long ball over the top and converted from close range. It has been a scrappy game, but Chris Hughton will be satisfied with the effort of his team after going behind in the early stages of the contest.
45' + 2' HALF-TIME: BRIGHTON AND HOVE ALBION 1-1 ARSENAL
Martín Montoya
Yellow Card
45' + 2' A poor piece of control leads Montoya straight into a challenge with Guendouzi. The full-back is booked for his loose challenge.
45' There will be one minute of added time.
44' The Gunners have played within themselves in the first period, which has been a common theme throughout the opening half of the campaign.
42' Torreira wins a free-kick on the right flank and Xhaka whips the ball in with pace from the set-piece, but Bernardo is well placed to head behind for a corner.
40' OVER! Montoya is afforded space to raid down the right flank and he floats a cross into the box for Murray to attack, but he guides his effort over the bar.
38' Locadia has scored just his second Premier League goal and first since his debut in February, ending a run of 17 appearances without a goal.
37' Locadia goes down under pressure in the box from Lichtsteiner, but referee Taylor tells the forward to get to his feet.
J. Locadia
Goal
35' GOALLLLLLLLLLLL!!! LOCADIA EQUALISES!! 1-1!!! Out of nothing Brighton are back in the game. The home side go from defending a corner to scoring at the other end of the pitch. A simple long ball from Propper releases Locadia in behind the Arsenal defence after Lichtsteiner failed to clear with a header. Leno committed himself racing off his line, allowing the forward to knock the ball past the Arsenal keeper before slotting the ball home. Locadia notches his first goal of the season.
33' Ozil almost works the ball into the path of Aubameyang in the box, but for once the Gabonese's first touch lets him down under pressure from Montoya.
32' The Gunners are looking a threat every time they push forward. Brighton's backline without Dunk are looking vulnerable.
30' CHANCE! A simple ball over the top from Lichtsteiner releases Aubameyang behind the Brighton defence. He takes the ball in stride and hammers an effort at goal on the half-volley. However, Ryan gets down low to make a fine stop with his right hand to save his team.
29' SAVE! March is played into acres of space down the right flank and he works the ball back into the feet of Murray. The striker shoots first time, only to be denied by a save from Leno.
27' OVER! Arsenal clear the initial danger from the corner before Montoya lines up an effort from distance, only to hammer his strike well over the bar.
26' Gross battles his way into the final third and strikes the ball off the legs of Koscielny. The referee points for a corner, although replays suggest that the ball deflected back off Gross at the last second.
24' DISALLOWED GOAL! Murray believes that he has notched the equaliser for Brighton, only to see the effort chalked off. He latched on to March's cut back in the middle, but failed to connect with his strike. However, he closed down Leno and was able to bundle the ball over the line. For a second the referee almost pointed back to the centre circle to award the goal, but then made the decision to award a free-kick to the Gunners.
22' BLOCK! Gross twists and turns in the final third before pulling the trigger on a right-footed strike, but Koscielny deflects it wide for a corner.
21' Duffy tries to send a backpass towards Ryan. For a second it almost interests Lacazette, but the ball skips away back to the Brighton keeper.
20' The home fans in the Amex Stadium are growing frustrated with Brighton's struggles in the early stages. They're failing to string together a series of passes, which will concern Hughton.
18' Lichtsteiner, Lacazette and Aubemeyang exchange passes in the right inside channel to attempt to open up the Seagulls again. However, the Swiss just cannot pick out a team-mate in the middle with his low cross.
16' Aubameyang has been directly involved in 30 goals in 32 Premier League appearances for Arsenal (23 goals, 7 assists).
15' Lichtsteiner presses forward and he gets in behind Bernardo, but his cutback towards Lacazette in the middle is cut out by Duffy.
13' Propper lines up a shot to nothing from 20 yards as he is afforded space and time by the Arsenal defence to fire at goal. His attempt is tame and straight at Leno, who makes a comfortable stop.
12' March takes the resulting corner, but he fails to beat the first man with his low delivery into the box. A disappointing attempt from the winger.
11' Lacazette loses possession in his own half and Propper tries to capitalise with a ball over the top towards March, but Kolasinac clears behind for a corner.
9' Arsenal have come out of the traps quickly today and are putting the pressure on the home side high up the pitch. There's no room for Brighton to play out from the back at the moment.
A. Lacazette
Assist
7' Lacazette wins possession from Balogun before teeing up Aubameyang for his strike.
P. Aubameyang
Goal
7' GOALLLLLL!!!! AUBAMENYANG FINDS THE NET!! 1-0 ARSENAL!! Brighton pay the price for failing to clear their lines as Aubameyang curls an effort past Ryan. Balogun was robbed in his own box by Lacazette. The Frenchman tried to carve out space for a strike himself, but was unable to find a path to goal. He offloaded towards Aubameyang, who guided his effort beyond the Seagulls keeper into the top corner.
5' Sokratis attempts to head the resulting corner from Xhaka towards the net, but the home side have enough men back to clear the danger.
4' SAVE! Ryan prevents Aubameyang from opening the scoring. The striker latches on to a lofted pass into the right inside channel and first time he tries to scoop an effort over the top of the Brighton keeper. However, Ryan manages to backpeddle to tip the ball over the bar.
3' Xhaka makes a mistake at the back and it allows Murray to feed Bernardo down the left flank for the home side. However, he slices his cross over the bar.
2' Lacazette lines up a strike from distance, only to fire a tame effort straight at Ryan.
1' We're underway at the Amex Stadium.

Brighton are slipping down the Premier League table due to a run of three defeats on the bounce. Chris Hughton's men are well above the relegation zone, but they cannot afford to get sloppy with the potential of moving comfortably clear of trouble on their agenda.
Arsenal got back to winning ways last time out by defeating Burnley on home soil thanks to a brace from Pierre-Emerick Aubamenyang along with a late strike from Alex Iwobi. The result moved the Gunners level on points with Chelsea, although one place out of the Champions League places in fifth. Unai Emery's men had a wobble suffering back-to-back defeats to Southampton and Tottenham, but another win this evening would signal that they're on the right track again.
