After an incredibly entertaining affair, Liverpool progress to the quarter-finals after beating Bayern Munich away from home. Mane opened the scoring for the away side after 26 minutes with a delightful goal before Matip turned the ball into the back of his own net 13 minutes later following Gnabry’s cross from the right. Mohamed Salah
84' Salah has been a real threat all evening and the Egyptian managed to work a yard of space and float the ball in towards the far post for Mane, who applied the finishing touch to beat Neuer from close range. That is a wonderful delivery from Salah.
S. Mané
84' GOAL! Mane makes it three! Moments after coming on, Origi slides the ball out to the right for Salah who delivers a sublime cross into the box with the outside of his foot and Mane is there to turn it home from close range. 3-1.

L. Goretzka
Javi Martínez
72' Bayern respond to going behind by making another change. Goretzka replaces Martinez with less than 20 minutes to go.

47' Thiago wins a free kick just inside the Liverpool half after being clipped by Mane. The set-piece is swung in from deep, but the away side clear their lines.
46' We are back underway! Bayern get the second half kicked off.
Bayern will be pleased with how they performed towards the end of the first half but know that there is work to be done following Mane’s goal. James grew into the game and the half wore on and will be vital to Bayern finding another goal in the second half. Liverpool, meanwhile, will be delighted to have secured a crucial away goal. The away side, and in particular Mane, looked dangerous on the break when Bayern began to step up and come forward in search of goals. The Reds front three will be a huge threat in the remaining 45 minutes with Bayern needing another goal.
Following a highly competitive opening half, Bayern and Liverpool are level at the break. 30' Martinez spots Lewandowski ahead of him picking him out with a smart pass. The Polish striker opens up the space on the edge of the box before firing his shot straight at Alisson.
28' No Liverpool player has scored more away goals in European competitions than Sadio Mane who is now level with Firmino and Steven Gerrard.

25' Martinez is in quickly to steal the ball away from Firmino a few yards outside the Bayern penalty area, and the Brazilian brings down the Bayern man. Free-kick to the hosts.
23' Firmino drills the ball out to the left for Robertson who plays it back inside for Mane. The Liverpool attacker looks to slide the ball into the box for Firmino, but it runs all the way through for Neuer who easily claims it.

17' Sule switches the play all the way over to the left-hand side, but the flag is up for offside against Ribery who just made his run a little too early.
15' The hosts are beginning to dictate the tempo of the match as Liverpool continue to press Bayern inside their half. The play advances into the path of Lewandowski who wins a free-kick off Matip.
J. Henderson
13' Liverpool are forced into an early change as the captain, Henderson, is replaced by Fabinho as a result of that earlier injury.
12' Henderson had resumed play following that earlier knock, but is now down again and may need to be replaced.
11' PENALTY? A looping ball into the box comes down to Lewandowski who is able to control it and the Polish striker goes down under pressure form Matip. The Bayern attacker looks towards the referee for a penalty, but the referee waves play on.
9' OVER! Bayern work the ball neatly inside the Liverpool half and it eventually gets played into the path of Thiago who fires a curling right-footed effort over the bar from 25 yards out.
8' Thiago looks to float the ball down the left side of the field for Ribery, but Matip gets across to cut out the ball and concede a throw-in.
7' There is going to be a brief stoppage in play as Henderson is down and in need of some attention. The Liverpool skipper appears to be in some discomfort with what seems to be an ankle injury.
5' Liverpool’s front three are doing a good job of pressing the Bayern defence and on this occasion force the ball all the way back to Neuer who clears it long. Matip beats Lewandowski in the air and the away side win the ball back.
4' Henderson brings down James on the edge of the Bayern area after Robertson’s threatening run down the left-hand side was cut out by Rafinha. Free-kick to Bayern.
3' Gnabry almost gets in behind of Robertson after a delightful ball from deep, but Alisson was alert to the threat and quickly came off his line to claim the pass.
2' Liverpool are enjoying a good spell of early possession in the opening few minutes but Bayern force them backwards and eventually win a throw-in inside their own half after a hopeful ball down field by Alisson.
1' Kick-off! We are underway here in Munich as Liverpool get the game started.
The teams are out and kick-off will soon be upon us here at Allianz Arena.
Bayern Munich have won only one of their eight matches in European competitions against Liverpool. Their last victory came in the Cup Winners’ Cup back in November 1971 with two goals from Gerd Müller and one from Uli Hoeness in a 3-1 win in Munich.
The home side are yet to taste defeat in this year’s Champions League campaign and come into this second leg clash having won four of their seven games in the competition. Liverpool, meanwhile, are yet to win any of their three away fixtures in Europe. The Reds will however be hoping to at least replicate Ajax’s 1-1 draw at the Allianz in the group stage of the competition as they look to progress.
Bayern make two changes from their last outing against Liverpool with Rafinha replacing the suspended Kimmich, whilst Ribery also comes in to replace Coman who drops to the bench following recent injury problems. The visitors, on the other hand, also make two changes from the first leg with Van Dijk retuning from suspension to replace Fabinho, whilst Milner starts in place of the injured Naby Keita.
LIVERPOOL SUBS: Simon Mignolet, Dejan Lovren, Fabinho, Adam Lallana, Xherdan Shaqiri, Daniel Sturridge, Divock Origi.
BAYERN MUNICH SUBS: Sven Ulreich, Jerome Boateng, Renato Sanches, Leon Goretzka, Woo-Yeong Jeong, Alphonso Davies, Kingsley Coman.
LIVERPOOL (4-3-3): Alisson; Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joel Matip, Virgil van Dijk, Andrew Robertson; Jordan Henderson, Georginio Wijnaldum, James Milner; Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino.
BAYERN MUNICH (4-2-3-1): Manuel Neuer; Rafinha, Niklas Sule, Mats Hummels, David Alaba; Javi Martinez, Thiago Alcantara; Serge Gnabry, James Rodriguez, Franck Ribery; Robert Lewandowski.
Bayern Munich will come into this match full of confidence having secured a 0-0 draw in the reverse fixture several weeks ago. Liverpool, however, will be optimistic that they can progress after denying their hosts a crucial away goal at Anfield.
