Commentary

Thanks for joining our commentary this evening. Until next time, goodbye.
Barcelona are next in action against Rayo Vallecano on the road in LaLiga on Wednesday. Real Madrid are in action on the same day against Osasuna at home.
Real Madrid move back to the top of LaLiga by defeating Barcelona 2-1 in the first Clasico of the season at Camp Nou. David Alaba put the visitors ahead in the first half, scoring a stunner after orchestrating a break out from the back. Madrid had to wait until stoppage time to put the game away as Lucas Vazquez pounced on a rebound after Marco Asensio was denied. Sergio Aguero did notch his first Barca goal, but it was too little too late for Ronald Koeman's men. The Dutchman is back under the spotlight after a high-profile defeat.

Sergi Roberto
F. de Jong
77' Sergi Roberto enters the action to replace De Jong in the Barcelona midfield.

S. Agüero
Ansu Fati
74' Fati is withdrawn for the final 16 minutes as Aguero enters the action. It would be timely for the Argentine to notch his first Barca goal today.
73' OVER! Dest collects and offload from Fati on the edge of the box and curls a left-footed strike towards goal that travels just over the bar.
72' Madrid break with pace down the left flank and Mendy sends a dangerous cross into the box. Benzema miscues his finish from close range, but was offside anyway before Valverde slams the follow-up into the side-netting.

62' SAVE! Modric hooks an offload inside for Benzema, who has his first real opening at goal of the game. However, Benzema scuffs his strike from 12 yards into the ground and Ter Stegen makes the block with his body. It was a huge chance for Los Blancos to take command of the game.
62' Modric latches on to a cutback from Vazquez and raids inside to shoot on his left foot from the edge of the Barca box, but Garcia blocks his effort with his chest.
60' Rodrygo is played through on goal by Vinicius and only has Ter Stegen to beat. However, Dest gets back with a desperate boot and knocks it away from the forward before he can pull the trigger. Great defending by the USA international.

Yellow Card
58' Pique protests to the referee about the decision and goes into the book.

46' We're back under way in El Clasico.
Philippe Coutinho
Óscar Mingueza
46' Koeman has altered his attacking options at the break. Coutinho replaces Mingueza, which will see Dest drop back into the defence.
Carlo Ancelotti will be delighted with his side at the break. They've played well on the counter and defended the threat of Memphis Depay. Alaba's strike was the perfect team move, and Los Blancos will fancy their chances of creating more advantageous situations on the counter in the second half.
David Alaba has handed Real Madrid a 1-0 lead over Barcelona at the break in El Clasico. Alaba started and finished a brisk counter for Los Blancos, blasting a left-footed strike past Marc-Ander ter Stegen to put the visitors ahead. Sergino Dest should have scored for Barcelona beforehand, while Gerard Pique headed just wide of the post in response to Alaba's effort. It is a close contest at Camp Nou.
45' + 1' HALF-TIME: BARCELONA 0-1 REAL MADRID
45' There will be one minute of added time.
45' BLOCK! Alaba produces a huge block at the back to deny Fati. Busquets clips a ball over the top for Alba to chase in the left-inside channel. 39' BLOCK! Madrid break with pace down the left flank as Vinicius sends Benzema into the left-inside channel. The Frenchman hangs up a cross for Kroos to attack, but Alba gets across to divert his volley behind.
38' Depay lifts another corner into the Madrid box. On this occasion Pique can only loop a header into the air. Mingueza takes possession and tees up Garcia to strike, but his effort is tame and straight at Courtois.
37' Barcelona are pressing to get back into the game. Garcia brings the ball forward from the back and sees his drive from 20 yards deflected behind for a corner.
35' CLOSE! Barca are inches away from striking back. Depay whips a corner into the box with pace from the right flank that Pique attacks. He glances his header across the face of goal, but it just drifts wide of the left post with Courtois beaten.

25' WHAT A MISS! DEST HAS TO SCORE!!! The USA international blazes a golden opportunity over the bar from 12 yards out. Depay makes a lung-bursting run into the Madrid box and cuts a low ball back across the penalty area. Fati edges it into the path of Dest, who only has to beat Courtois. However, he loses his composure and skies his effort.
24' OFFSIDE! Benzema threads Vinicius through on goal and he bursts into the left-inside channel. He rounds Ter Stegen to open up space to fire at goal on his left foot, but then opts to go back on to his right foot. Alba gets back to block his eventual strike, although the offside flag goes up late.
22' The referee has to calm tempers after Alba reacts to Vinicius' appeal for a spot-kick. There was not a great deal in the contact between Mingueza and Vinicius, prompting the reaction from the home side.

11' Depay beats Vazquez to the ball and then goes down as the Spaniard catches him with an outstretched leg. Barca get the free-kick, but Vazquez avoids further punishment.
10' The opening 10 minutes have been cagey to say the least. Both sets of players are playing it safe when in possession.
8' Barca's high press forces a mistake from Courtois at the back as he places his offload out towards Vazquez over the head of the full-back.
6' Depay collects on the left flank and tries to turn his way into the Madrid box, but Militao and Vazquez are there to apply the pressure to force him away from goal.
4' The home side are looking to bring Fati into the game whenever possible down the left flank. He has been their spark this term.
2' Rodrygo attempts to put Pique under pressure at the back, but the defender turns out of trouble before offloading to Busquets.
1' We're under way in El Clasico.
Barcelona have not won any of their last four games against Real Madrid in LaLiga (D1 L3) – should they fail to win this game, it will be their longest winless run in the competition against a specific opponent since May 2008, also against Los Blancos (D2 L3).
Ancelotti has kept matters simple for the contest as he has named an unchanged team from the line-up that thrashed Shakhtar Dontesk during the week. Benzema leads the line alongside Vinicius and Rodrygo in the final third. Militao and Alaba continue to anchor the defence despite the presence of Nacho on the bench.
Barcelona have made two changes to their side that beat Dynamo Kiev during the week. Fati comes back into the side in the final third in place of Luuk De Jong, who drops to the bench. Garcia gets the nod to return in the heart of the defence alongside Pique as Lenglet makes way from the backline.
REAL MADRID SUBS: Daniel Carvajal, Jesus Vallejo, Nacho Fernandez, Eden Hazard, Marco Asensio, Marcelo, Andriy Lunin, Federico Valverde, Mariano Diaz, Eduardo Camavinga, Luis Lopez, Antonio Blanco.
REAL MADRID (4-3-3): Thibaut Courtois; Lucas Vazquez, Eder Militao, David Alaba, Ferland Mendy; Luka Modric, Casemiro, Toni Kroos; Rodrygo, Karim Benzema, Vinicius Junior.
BARCELONA SUBS: Riqui Puig, Yusuf Demir, Neto, Philippe Coutinho, Clement Lenglet, Luuk de Jong, Sergio Aguero, Sergi Roberto, Samuel Umtiti, Inaki Pena, Nicolas Gonzalez, Alejandro Balde.
BARCELONA (4-3-3): Marc-Andre ter Stegen; Oscar Mingueza, Gerard Pique, Eric Garcia, Jordi Alba; Frenkie de Jong, Sergio Busquets, Gavi; Sergino Dest, Memphis Depay, Ansu Fati.
Real Madrid put their recent woes behind them with a dominant victory over Shakhtar Donetsk during the week in the Champions League. Carlo Ancelotti's men were stunned by Sheriff in the Champions League and Espanyol before the international break, while an allowance from LaLiga allowed the club to postpone their last LaLiga outing amid a number of absentees. Los Blancos can move back to the top of LaLiga with a victory today, but they must conquer their inconsistency even against a weaker Barcelona side than usual.
Barcelona have stemmed the tide of pressure building against Ronald Koeman in the dugout with back-to-back wins since the international break. The Catalan club defeated Valencia in LaLiga last week before overcoming Dynamo Kiev in the Champions League. However, they now face the ultimate test in the first Clasico of the season. Their two wins over the past week will count for very little if they suffer a significant setback against Los Blancos today.
Good afternoon and welcome to the live commentary of the LaLiga contest between Barcelona and Real Madrid at Camp Nou.
