These two will meet again at the Parc des Princes in three weeks' time then. Barca have a job on their hands while PSG are firmly in the driving seat in this tie. The Parisians look serious contenders for the trophy once again. That's all for now. Goodbye!
Mbappe has become only the third player to score a Champions League hat-trick against Barcelona, and the first since Andriy Shevchenko did it for Dynamo Kiev in 1997. What a talent he is. Barca aren't out of this tie yet - recent history tells us that - but they'll have to be much better in Paris to have a hope of progressing. PSG were rampant in the second half especially.
PSG head back to France with a commanding first-leg lead after demolishing Barca on their own turf despite going behind. Mbappe grabbed a hat-trick in an outstanding performance, even if Barca wilted towards the end. Without Neymar and Angel Di Maria, this win is a statement from PSG.

To their credit Barca are still attacking for what would be a consolation goal at this point. The hosts force another two corners, the second of which Navas claims.
Marquinhos hands Barca a corner as we enter five minutes of added time. PSG see the attack off confidently as they have done all game.
PSG make a substitution. Kehrer replaces Florenzi at right-back.
Barca look disheartened and you can't blame them. They've been outclassed by PSG in every department. A comeback in the style of four years ago feels unlikely. Braithwaite heads comfortably wide from Dembele's cross.
Draxler's timing on the pass to Mbappe for that goal was perfect, his awareness superb. PSG deserve this convincing victory.
GOAL! BARCELONA 1-4 PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN! Mbappe gets his hat-trick with a ruthless finish! Barca give the ball away on the edge of PSG's penalty area and PSG punish them. It's three versus two at the back and Draxler draws in the Barca defenders before laying off to Mbappe who makes no mistake.
PSG also make a change as they look to shut the game down. Pereira, a defensive midfielder, is on for Kean.
Barca substitution. Braithwaite replaces Griezmann who's had the odd chance here.
Barcelona have conceded three or more goals in back-to-back Champions League home games for the first time. This Barca side are a shadow of the team that last lifted the trophy back in 2015.
Navas feints to play out from the back and almost hands Barca a goal! The PSG keeper knocks the ball against Griezmann and is very lucky to see it drift wide of the far post. That could easily have been a calamitous error.
Kean clears at the near post as Barca come again. PSG will be most interested in keeping the scoreline the same over the last 10 minutes now. A two-goal lead is a handy one to take back to Paris.
Pique is the last Barca player to make way. Barca's 21-year-old youth product Puig is on for him.
Pedri goes off. He'll be replaced by the winger Trincao.
Meanwhile Barca make a flurry of changes. Pjanic is on for Busquets.
PSG win a corner down the left. Mbappe plays it short to Paredes who pops it back over the top for the Frenchman to run onto. Griezmann catches Mbappe on the ankle as the ball goes out of play. Mbappe will need some seeing to from the physios.
Dembele tries to shoot from an acute angle ignoring two teammates in a better position. Navas gratefully watches the effort float high and wide.
Barca are recovering after conceding two goals in five minutes but the air has been sucked out of the game briefly. Alba crosses in from the left but Herrera is well-placed to cut it out.
PSG substitution. The excellent Verratti is replaced by Draxler. Verratti's just come back from a hip injury so Pochettino will be keen to protect him.
Barca make an instant substitution. Mingueza replaces Dest who's had a torrid time against Mbappe. Who wouldn't?
Paredes' free-kick for that goal was lovely. All Kean had to do was run in a straight line and the finish in the end was easy. No one in Barca colours was picking him up.
GOAL! BARCELONA 1-3 PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN! Kimpembe wins a foul down the left after being clipped by Pedri. Paredes floats it in and Kean nods it down and in at the far post! Barca are crumbling before our eyes.
Mbappe, now looking for his hat-trick, forces Ter Stegen to save with his legs at the near post. PSG are well on top.
Mbappe is the first player in Champions League history to score a brace away from home against Barcelona in the knockout phase. PSG are in a fantastic position now having come from behind to lead. The visitors have thrown away far larger leads than this one though...

Barca have improved in this second half but PSG have still had the best chance of the half through Kean. You sense that PSG are biding their time.
Barca knock the ball around on the edge of PSG's box but can't quite get through. Dembele tries to break down PSG's stubborn defence with a cross from the right and is equally unsuccessful. The winger takes a snap shot from the right of the box and Navas makes an easy save.
Messi whips the corner towards the back post where Griezmann is waiting to gobble it up. Herrera puts enough pressure on Griezmann to make sure the Frenchman's header is not a good one. PSG goal-kick.
This free-kick is in prime Messi territory. The Barca captain steps up and swishes it towards goal but PSG's defensive wall does its job. Barca have a corner.
Alba plays in a cross. It lands to Pedri who tries to tiptoe through but finds himself crowded out. Messi earns a free-kick in a promising position as he gets caught by Kimpembe.
PSG are full of ideas. Mbappe plays a one-two with Icardi to burst into the box but the return pass from Icardi has a touch too much power on it. Barca get the goal-kick.
There's a real ebb and flow to this game. Alba plays the ball inside for De Jong who dinks the ball towards Griezmann. Marquinhos is there to deal with it.
PSG come again and Barca block Paredes' shot from outside the box. Mbappe pulls out a few party tricks as he heads for the box but can't create a shooting opportunity on this occasion.
There's no sign of PSG resting on their laurels. They can win this and they know it. Ter Stegen makes a fantastic fingertip save from Kean, raising his arm as the Italian aims for the top centre of the goal after a PSG breakaway.
Verratti has a shot blocked. Up the other end Griezmann's waiting in the middle for service from De Jong but the ball doesn't find the Frenchman. These two teams are starting to ramp things up again.
Pedri threads a ball through for Messi in the box but Messi uncharacteristically miscontrols it with his left foot and the chance vanishes. Even football gods are human.
Mbappe is really up for this game. Kean spreads the play to his counterpart on the left flank. Mbappe darts inside and fizzes an effort past the right-hand post.
Barca get the second half going. Alba quickly gets caught offside from Lenglet's throughball.
Pochettino wisely withdraws Gueye from the action at half-time. Herrera will replace him in PSG's midfield for the second half.
PSG have now scored in their 20th consecutive Champions League away game. Only Real Madrid have had a longer streak of 22 games between 2010 and 2014. PSG are true heavyweights these days and are going toe-to-toe with Barca here, although Gueye's yellow card will cause them concern. If Pochettino leaves him on you can bet that Barca will look to make the most of it.
Barca and PSG go in level at the break after a spellbinding first 45 minutes. The ties between this pair never disappoint. Barca grabbed the lead through Messi's penalty before Mbappe levelled for PSG minutes later. PSG have a slight advantage now in the form of an away goal, but there are surely more goals to come here.

HALF-TIME: BARCELONA 1-1 PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN
There'll be one more minute in what has been an absorbing first half.
ter Stegen makes a hash of a routine pass back and scoops the ball into the air in his own six-yard box. PSG get a corner out of it and Icardo powers a free header across the near post. It's a let-off for Barca.
Barca pass the ball around for a while, seeking to calm the game down. Gueye makes a rash challenge on Busquets and gives away a free-kick. The referee takes a kind view of it but Gueye is walking on thin ice now.
Barca defend Verratti's corner at the near post and PSG have another corner. Verratti's delivery this time is not much better and Barca see it off.
Mbappe powers down the left and earns a corner off Dest. There are few players you want to run at you less than the World Cup winner.
Kean goes straight for goal and forces ter Stegen to tip his snatched effort out for a corner. Again Barca handle it, but there's no let-up here at all. This game has lit up now.
Pique clears the corner and the Barca break is on! Griezmann races into the penalty area and drills the ball towards the bottom right corner. It's inches away from going in and PSG are glad to see it go out of play.
It's end-to-end at the moment! Kurzawa is in space in the box and drags a shot just wide of the right-hand post. ter Stegen gets a vital touch. It'll be a PSG corner.
That was a sumptuous assist from Verratti who's had an excellent start to the game. We've got an exciting contest here!
GOAL! BARCELONA 1-1 PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN! Mbappe equalises swiftly and grabs PSG an away goal! Dembele goes to sleep and Kurzawa darts in behind to cross in first time. Verratti flicks it to Mbappe who shows quick feet to lash it past ter Stegen at the near post.
Messi's penalty was his 20th goal of the season for Barcelona in all competitions. It's the 13th consecutive campaign he's scored 20 or more goals for the club. The longevity and consistency of Messi's Barca career has been astounding.
Barca almost make it 2-0 straight away! PSG's defence parts like the Red Sea and Dembele gets a free shot in the penalty area from Messi. Dembele doesn't set himself though and fires a tame effort straight at Navas.
GOAL! BARCELONA 1-0 PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN! Messi steps up and smashes the penalty kick past Navas into the top right corner. No goalkeeper was going to stop that.
PENALTY TO BARCELONA! Messi comes deep and searches for de Jong with an over-the-top ball. de Jong goes down in the box with Kurzawa making accidental contact. The referee has no hesitation - he points to the spot!
Mbappe takes a tumble just in front of PSG's box. The referee isn't interested. Gueye rushes in and gives away a foul. The midfielder's got to be careful. He's got to last the rest of the game on a yellow card.
Paredes fires in the free-kick but can't find a PSG head. It's hard to tell which side is going to draw first blood here. Both have had their moments.
Mbappe jinks down the left and fires in a cross which Barca head away. The Frenchman gets the ball back shortly after and Barca's young American full-back Dest trips him up. PSG now have a nice-looking free-kick.
PSG manage to handle Messi's free-kick, intercepting Dembele and Pedri's instinctive shots. Verratti takes a risk by sliding in his own box to steal the ball from Griezmann. It's an excellent tackle.
Gueye earns himself the game's first yellow card for bringing down Pedri about 40 yards out.
Chance for PSG! Mbappe has a huge amount of space to pick out a pass for Icardi. Icardi's one-on-one with ter Stegen but can only trickle a feeble shot towards goal. Barca manage to block and scramble it out for an inconsequential PSG corner. Icardi should have done better.
Kurzawa comes in late on de Jong and gives away an obvious free-kick near the touchline. The referee waves away a few players expressing their opinion and gives a warning to the PSG left-back.
Chance for Barca! Messi wriggles forward from deep again to slide in Griezmann to the left of the box. Griezmann takes a touch and tries to shoot low at the near post. Navas quickly closes down the angle and makes the block. Barca get a corner which PSG clear.
It feels as though PSG have had a lot of possession so far, an unusual amount for an away side at Camp Nou. It's only 48 per cent but that's an achievement away to Barca.
Paredes plays the corner towards the near post. Griezmann comfortably heads it away.
Kean makes a good run down the right after Gueye dispossesses the dawdling Pedri. The Italian wins PSG the first corner of the game.
Gueye passes down the line looking for Kean but Lenglet positions himself well to cut it out. Up the other end, Messi drops deep to find Pedri. Florenzi is soon there to shut the door.
Kean receives a spot of treatment after going down following a clash of heads. Thankfully PSG's young striker, playing wide right here, looks good to continue.
Navas booms a pass forward from the back and Barca win the second ball. Dembele picks up possession out wide and cuts inside onto his left foot. His speculative shot ifrom range is blocked.
PSG have started the better in these opening minutes. Gueye tries his luck from distance and fires wide.
Barca find themselves under pressure early on as Verratti floats a ball over the top for Mbappe to chase. Mbappe has Pique beaten for pace but thankfully for Barca their goalkeeper ter Stegen rushes out to sweep up.

Can Pochettino's PSG get an away goal or two to take back to France?

PSG are arguably the stronger force these days having narrowly lost the final of this competition last season. While Barca are looking to make it to the Champions League quarter-finals for a 14th consecutive season, then, Ronald Koeman's team will have to be at their best to overcome Mauricio Pochettino's PSG side. Let's do this!
Barcelona will remember the last time they met PSG in the Champions League round of 16 very well. Four years ago Barca overturned a 4-0 first-leg defeat with a 6-1 victory to become the first - and so far only - side to qualify with the next round after losing the first leg by four or more goals. It's a memory PSG would no doubt prefer to forget.
