Commentary

A compact, well-organised and functional performance from Atletico meant that they were easily able to confirm their place in the fifth round of the Copa del Rey. They were arguably the better of the two teams and deserve to progress but Reus can hold their heads high after putting in a great display against the Madrid giants. The Segunda B side gave their all and looked impressive at both ends of the pitch, and tonight's result, as well as the one they managed to earn two weeks ago, will no doubt do them the world of good as they continue their push for promotion to the second tier.
FULL-TIME: ATLETICO MADRID 1-0 REUS DEPORTIU
The corner is dealt with well by the Reus defence before Carrasco runs the ball out of play for a goal kick, and the referee then blows his whistle for the final time before Badia is able to take it.
Great defending by Olmo! Saul charges into the right-hand side of the Reus penalty area before looking to unleash a shot from a tight angle, but the aforementioned defender gets over quickly and out-muscles the midfielder before poking the ball out for a late corner.
The fourth official has indicated that there will be two minutes of added time.
Another great opportunity for Torres! Atletico break away quickly through Siqueira on the left flank, who then moves the ball over to Oliver via Carrasco. The midfielder quickly tees up the aforementioned striker with a well-placed pass over to his right, but the former Chelsea forward ends up scuffing his shot over the top of the crossbar. Once again, he should have done a lot better with that chance.
Cassama flies down the right wing and cuts inside before cutting the ball back to Vaz. The Portuguese midfielder controls it well before quickly unleashing a low strike from 25 yards out, but it's slightly scuffed and fails to trouble Moya.
Gabi
Á. Correa
Atlético Madrid
Gabi comes on to take the place of Correa as Atletico look to shut out Reus with a five-man midfield.
Carrasco goes close! The Belgian darts down the left wing and beats Cassama before unleashing a low cross-cum-shot that deflects off the outstretched foot of Olmo before looping just inches past the far post. The resulting corner fails to result in a chance on goal, however, as Oliver clumsily strays into an offside position after the initial set-piece was dealt with well by the Reus defence.
Vaz twists and turns just outside of the Atletico penalty area as he uses his impressive skills to good effect, and he's eventually bundled over by Thomas in a dangerous position. Colorado steps up and unleashes a shot from the resulting free kick that loops over the wall with ease, but there's slightly too much power on the strike and it clears the top of the crossbar by several yards.
Fernando Rodríguez
Vítor
Reus Deportiu
Vitor seems to have picked up a nasty-looking harmstring injury, and he hobbles off the pitch to be replaed by Rodriguez.
Chance for Martinez! The left-back charges down the left wing and cuts inside before unleashing a thumping shot from 25 yards out, but it's hit straight into the arms of Moya, who is easily able to stop the full-back's effort as a result.
Reus initially get forward well after finding plenty of space down the right flank. Vaz then tries to tee up Carbia with a deft through-ball, but it's slightly overhit and is cut out by Moya before it is able to do so.
It's all Reus at the moment as they patiently work the ball around inside the Atletico half of the pitch. The hosts are now firmly on the back foot as they sit deep and continuously frustrate the visitors, who, despite their dominance in possession, are finding it difficult to do much with the ball.
Fran Carbià
Edgar Hernández
Reus Deportiu
Edgar receives a round of applause from both sets of fans as he's replaced by Carbia for the final 20 minutes.
Once again, Cassama looks bright whilst charging down the right flank, and he then cuts inside before sending a low cross towards the near post. It meets Edgar, who initially controls the ball well, but his second touch is poor and sends it rolling just over the byline and out for a goal kick.
Vaz, who has arguably been one of Reus' most impressive players this evening, penetrates the right-hand side of the Atletico penalty area before looking to shoot. He twists and turns but can't seem to find the space needed, forcing him into running out of the box before spinning and unleashing a low strike from 25 yards out that fails to beat the sea of red and white shirts camped in front of him.
A Reus attack breaks down, allowing Atletico to break away on a quick counter-attack. Carrasco flies forward before trying to play a one-two with Torres, but the latter's attempted pass back to the Belgian is poor and misses him completely before rolling into the hands of Badia.
The pace of the game has slowed down somewhat over the past few minutes, with Reus enjoying the vast majority of possession but failing to do much with it due to compact defending from the hosts, who are sitting incredibly deep inside their own half of the pitch.
Atletico sit deep, allowing Reus plenty of time on the ball as they push forward. Cassama does well to get down the right flank before trying to tee up Haro, but the substitute is quickly closed down and is unable to get on the ball, resulting in a goal kick for the hosts.
David Haro
Óscar Rico
Reus Deportiu
Reus have decided to make their first change of the evening, with Rico making way for Haro.
Y. Carrasco

Reus work the ball around patiently as they try to find a way through Atletico's compact back line, and Rico eventually decides to unleash a strike from 30 yards out. It's well hit but has slightly too much power behind it, sending it flying just over the top of the crossbar.

Goal
Atlético Madrid
GOAL! Atletico have taken the lead! A looping cross from the left flank is only half dealt with by the Reus defence, sending it straight to Thomas. The Ghanaian then unleashing a side-footed bouncing strike from 25 yards out that flies through the clump of yellow shirts in front of him before finding the bottom right-hand corner of the net. The hosts now look incredibly relieved!
Atletico are finding it increasingly difficult to find a way through the determined Reus defence. Once again, Siqueira and Koke link up well on the left wing before the latter tries to send a cross into the box, but he's quickly closed down and is unable to do so.

Atletico score, but it's ruled out! Sloppy play by Martinez allows Gamez to fly down the right wing before being bundled to the ground by Vaz, resulting in a free kick for the hosts next to the corner flag. It's flung into the box, where Savic nods it over to Hernandez, who immediately rifles a volley into the back of the net, but just as he starts celebrating the referee blows his whistle and disallows it for a raised arm from the aforementioned defender.
And we're underway once again!
The two teams are making their way back out onto the pitch ahead of the start of the second half. Neither side have made any substitutions during the half-time break.
It's been a frustrating opening 45 minutes for Atletico, who really should be ahead after enjoying the vast majority of possession and, most importantly, chances on goal. Torres has been presented with three good opportunities to put his side ahead but has failed to take any of them, giving Reus the opportunity to slowly but surely work their way back into the game. As a result, they are now looking as likely as the hosts to grab a goal, meaning that they are surely going to up the ante even further during in a second half in which they need to scare at least twice if they are to have any chance of knocking out the La Liga side.
HALF-TIME: ATLETICO MADRID 0-0 REUS DEPORTIU
In stark contrast to the start of the evening, it's all Reus at the moment as they patiently pass the ball around Atletico. The minnows have grown into the game and have looked increasingly impressive, which seems to have unsettled the hosts slightly.
Atletico immediately push forward on a quick attacking move, with Oliver breaking into the Reus box before teeing up Correa, who then earns his side a corner. It's flung over to the back post, where it finds Hernandez, but the defender's looping header fails to find a red and white before bouncing over to Edgar.
Fantastic strike by Vaz! Reus patiently work the ball around deep inside the Atletico half of the pitch before the Portuguese takes the hosts completely by surprise with a thumping shot from 25 yards out. It's brilliantly struck by the attacking midfielder but Moya pulls off an excellent diving save to stop it from finding the back of the net.
Reus are starting to look far better when pushing forward, as there are plenty of pockets of space appearing inside the Atletico half of the pitch. They break away well again before Vaz tries to find Edgar with a through-ball, but it's slightly overhit and misses the striker before being collected by Moya.
A Reus attack breaks down, allowing Atletico to break away on a quick counter-attack through Correa. The Argentine flies towards the edge of the penalty area before unleashing a low strike, but it's poorly hit and it sails comfortably wide of the near post.
Martinez charges forward on a good run down the left wing before spinning and teeing up Rico. The midfielder then tries to find Edgar with a looping cross from 30 yards away, but it's slightly overhit and flies into the hands of Moya, who has had little to do thus far.
Once again, Atletico decide to sit back to give Reus a few moments on the ball as they look to try and drag the minnows out of shape before hitting them on the break. Instead, the visitors get forward down the right wing thanks to good play by Cassama and Colorado, but the latter is eventually outmuscled by Correa, who then shepherds the ball out of play for a goal kick.
Atletico are getting increasingly closer to an opening goal as they continue to put Reus under plenty of pressure. The visitors have done well thus far but are slowly starting to crack under the weight of the hosts' determined attacking moves.
Koke hits the crossbar! Torres holds up the ball well on the left wing before being fouled from behind, resulting in a free kick for Atletico. The aforementioned midfielder steps up and curls a great cross-cum-shot that beats everybody in the box before ricocheting off the woodwork. It then falls to Oliver, but his follow-up effort sails straight into the hands of Badia.
Torres goes close once again! The striker breaks through the Reus back line before going one-on-one with Badia. He controls the ball well before trying to beat the goalkeeper with a deft flick, but his overconfidence proves to be misplaced and the visitors' shot-stopper is able to keep out the cheeky effort with a well-timed diving save. The fomer Chelsea forward really should have done better with that chance!
A lofted pass from Thomas flies over the top of the Reus defence and into the path of Torres, who does well to keep the ball in play before spinning and sending it back to Siqueira. The Brazilian then curls a cross into the box, where it finds Oliver, but the midfielder is unable to make decent contact with the ball and, as a result, his effort fails to trouble Badia.
Atletico move the ball around well, with quick, one-touch passes characterising the attacking move. It ends with Thomas just outside of the penalty area, and he immediately beats two Reus players before trying to poke a pass through to Torres, but it's completely mishit and can only find the hands of Badia.
Siqueira charges down the left wing before sending a bouncing cross into the middle of the Reus box. It meets Correa, who immediately tries to spin past Moyano, but the defender is easily able to out-muscle the striker before clearing the danger.
What a save by Badia! Koke curls a beautiful cross into the Reus penalty area from the resulting set-piece, and it finds Torres in front of goal. The striker rises high and meets the ball well, but his effort on goal is pushed away by the visitors' goalkeeper before Savic knocks his follow-up the wrong side of the near post.

After a few minutes on the back foot, Reus are finally able to push into the Atletico half of the pitch once again. They patiently work the ball around before Cassama attempts to break down the right wing, but he's quickly dispossessed and the hosts regain possession once again.
Chance for Torres! Gamez flies down the right flank before sending a brilliant low cross into the middle of the box, where the former Chelsea striker is completely unmarked. He meets the ball well before unleashing a close-range strike, but it's not hit as well as he would have liked and, as a result, Badia is easily able to deal with the effort.
Sloppy defending from Reus allows Thomas to pick up the ball in a dangerous position just outside of the visitors' penalty area. The Ghanaian then tries to tee up Correa with a chipped pass, but it's underhit and is cut out by Cassama before it can find the aforementioned Argentine.
The resulting set-piece flies through a sea of shirts inside the penalty area before reaching Oliver on the right wing. The midfielder then sends a curling cross into the heart of the box, but Badia does well to cut out the danger with a comfortable take.
Gamez is clumsily bundled over by Martinez after beating the Reus defender with ease, resulting in a free kick for Atletico in a dangerous position on the right wing. The set-piece is curled into the middle of the box, but Edgar is there to clear the ball out for a corner.
Atletico work the ball around well deep inside the Reus half of the pitch before Oliver tries to tee up Torres with a well-placed through-ball, but the latter spends too long on the ball after receiving it and is dispossessed by Martinez before he can get a shot away.
Cassama does well to penetrate the Atletico penalty area before firing an attempted cross off Savic and out for Reus' first corner of the game. And we're off! Atletico get us underway, attacking from left to right.
The two sides are making their way out onto the pitch, with just a few minutes to go until kick-off.
Meanwhile, Reus boss Nato Gonzalez has made six alterations to the side that started two weeks ago, with Alberto Benito, Dinis Almeida, Rafa Garcia, Fran Carbia, Fernando Rodriguez and David Haro making way for Ismael Moyano, Angel Martinez, Vitor, Oscar Rico, Ricardo Vaz and Edgar Hernandez.
Diego Simeone has decided to make just one change to the Atletico side that started in the first leg, with Fernando Torres coming into the starting line-up to replace Luciano Vietto, who drops to the substitutes’ bench.
Reus Deportiu substitutes: Haro, Garcia, Carbia, Rodriguez, Bernabeu.
Reus Deportiu XI (4-5-1): Badia; Cassama, Olmo, Moyano, Martinez; Vitor, Folch, Rico, Colorado, Vaz; Edgar.

Atletico Madrid XI (4-4-2): Moya; Gamez, Savic, Hernandez, Siqueira; Koke, Thomas, Saul, Oliver; Correa, Torres.
There’s just over 15 minutes left to go until until kick-off, so let’s have a look at how the two teams will be lining up this evening…
Despite impressing in the first leg, Reus still have a mountain to climb if they are to pull off what will surely go down as one of the biggest shocks in Copa del Rey history. This is the furthest that the Catalan club have ever reached in the competition, and they are currently enjoying an excellent run of form domestically. With only one defeat all season and seven victories from their last nine league games, they currently sit top of their Segunda B group, three points clear of Villarreal’s reserve team. With nothing to lose and everything to gain, expect Natxo Gonzalez’s side to come out all guns blazing as they aim to give Atletico another scare.
What was meant to be a routine win against lower league opposition turned into a nervy encounter in south Catalonia, where Atletico were pushed hard by Reus in their first-leg clash away to the Segunda B Group 3 leaders. The La Liga side went a goal down after half-an-hour and, although they equalised soon after, it wasn’t until midway through the second half that they finally went ahead with what would prove to be the final goal of the game. As a result, Diego Simeone’s side head back to the Estadio Vicente Calderon with a 2-1 lead under their belts, but the Argentine manager has been adamant in the build-up to tonight’s game that the Rojiblancos won’t be underestimating their visitors and will be on their guard throughout the course of the evening as they look to comfortably book their place in the fifth round.
Good evening and welcome to our live text commentary of today’s Copa del Rey fourth round game between Atletico Madrid and Reus Deportiu.
