Commentary

Thanks for joining our commentary this evening. Until next time, goodbye.
The Champions League final is now set in Cardiff on June 3, with Real Madrid facing off against Juventus for the European title. What a match that will be.
Diego Simeone's men had their moments in the second half, but could not find a way past Keylor Navas in the Real goal, allowing Zinedine Zidane's men to advance once again.
Trailing 3-0 from the first leg, Atletico came out of the blocks like Usain Bolt, notching two early strikes through Saul Niguez and Antoine Griezmann to put the visitors on the back foot. However, a moment of brilliance from Karim Benzema unlocked their defence and allowed Isco to notch a crucial away goal.
Real Madrid will earn the chance to defend the crown and have the opportunity to become the first team to win back-to-back titles since the Champions League was reformatted in the 1992/93 season.
FULL-TIME: ATLETICO MADRID 2 (2) - 1 (4) REAL MADRID
90' + 3' THAT'S IT! REAL MADRID ARE THROUGH TO THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL!
90' + 3' The home fans are continuing to chant despite the torrid conditions at the Calderon now, with rain heaping down on the pitch.
90' + 2' SAVE! Griezmann is denied a consolation goal as his powerful left-footed strike is turned past the post by Navas. The keeper has had a great game this evening.
90' There will be two minutes of added time.
90' SAVE! Gabi strikes at goal from the edge of the box and although his effort takes a deflection, Navas makes a comfortable save down low to his right.
89' OVER! Ronaldo collects on the edge of the box and turns Godin, but he smashes his left-footed strike over the bar.
Morata
Isco
88' Isco scored the crucial goal this evening to take the wind out of Atletico's sails, and he now makes way for Morata.
87' Gabi lifts the ball into the box, but his cross is too high for Griezmann to latch on to at the back post.
Á. Correa
Yellow Card
85' Correa goes into the book for a shove on Ronaldo.
84' BLOCK! Ronaldo goes for the kill as he collects Isco's pass, but Gabi makes a vital challenge at the back to stop his progress on the edge of the box.
82' Gameiro has been off the pace since his arrival and his poor evening continues as he takes the ball away from goal on a counter-attack before losing possession.
81' Navas has to be alert at the back to stop Gameiro seizing on Filipe Luis' cross in the box, with the keeper punching the ball away from his six-yard box.
80' Varane makes an inch-perfect challenge to stop Griezmann's surge into the box. It's all hands on deck for the visitors at the back to see this one out.
79' Atletico's turn to make a last-ditch stop as Gabi prevents Ronaldo from latching on to Marcelo's cross at the back post.
78' Correa almost makes an impact with his first touch as he unlocks the Real defence down the left, but his low cross is taken off the foot of Gameiro by Ramos.
Lucas Vázquez
Casemiro
77' Casemiro is replaced by Vazquez for the visitors.
Asensio
K. Benzema
76' Asensio comes on for the final throes to replace Benzema.
Á. Correa
Koke
76' Koke makes way for Correa for the home side.
75' CLOSE! Benzema has had the ball on a string this evening as he almost weaves his way through another wall of red and white shirts, but this time an intervention from Partey stops his before he can shoot in the box.
74' WIDE! Marcelo lifts a dangerous ball over the top of the Atletico defence which is met by Benzema first time with a diving header. He gets the desired contact, but his effort clips the side-netting rather than the inside of the goal.
72' Gameiro wins a free-kick for the home side on the right flank following a foul by Casemiro. However, the visitors clear their lines with ease, while Godin gives away a foul in the box from the follow-up.
70' SAVE! Griezmann latches on to the ball in space and fires a left-footed strike on the half-volley towards the bottom corner, but Navas is there again to make a smart stop.
69' DISALLOWED GOAL! Kroos lifts a clever corner to the edge of the box for Modric to strike. He does not get a clean connection but his mis-hit finds its way to goal where Ronaldo helps it into the net. The linesman's flag goes up for offside, much to the dismay of the Portuguese.
67' Those saves from Navas may well have just sent his side to the final. A huge moment in the context of the game.
66' SAVE! Carrasco has a huge chance to bring his side back into the game as he weaves his way into the box, but his curling strike is saved by Navas. The rebound is up for grabs in the box and Gameiro latches on to it, only to be denied by a super reaction stop by the Real keeper.
64' Carrasco surges down the left flank and sends an inviting ball into the box, but Griezmann and Gameiro are on their heels, allowing Real to clear the danger.
62' Real are controlling the pace of the game now and slowly taking the tie away from Simeone's men.
61' Gabi collides with Casemiro after the midfielder offloads, with theatrics from the Brazilian attempting to yield a second yellow card from the referee. However, the official makes the correct decision by not producing the card.
58' WIDE! Benzema sends Marcelo down the left flank with a neat piece of skill and the Brazilian sends a low cross into the near post for Ronaldo's run. The Portuguese attempts a first-time strike, but puts his effort wide of the target.

57' Partey replaces Gimenez for the home side in an attacking move down the right.
K. Gameiro
Fernando Torres
56' Torres makes way for Gameiro up front.
55' WIDE! Real open up the home side at the back and Danilo tees up Isco for a strike on the edge of the box, only for the midfielder to pull his strike wide of the target.
53' Griezmann gets the ball out of his feet to smash a cross-field pass for Carrasco's run. He takes the ball on his chest after getting goal side of Marcelo, but the ball runs away from him and out for a goal-kick.
52' Atletico are lacking the energy and the urgency displayed in the early stages of the second half. Simeone's men need a spark from somewhere.
50' OVER! Griezmann lifts his effort over the wall, but the ball does not dip enough to travel under the bar. Close but not quite good enough from the Frenchman.
49' Isco is late on Gimenez as he raids forward down the right. The defender's effort flies over the bar, but the referee rightly brings back play for the foul from the Real man. Griezmann will be interested from this distance.
48' SAVE! Ronaldo blasts the ball at goal, but Oblak stands firm and beats the effort away with his fists. Marcelo latches on to the rebound on the edge of the box, but smashes his strike over the bar.
47' Griezmann brings down Kroos on the left flank and it will hand Ronaldo a shooting opportunity.
47' Real win an early corner down the left flank as Gimenez ushers Benzema out of touch. However, the home side clear their lines from the resulting cross.
46' We're back underway at the Vicente Calderon.
The players are back out on the pitch, so we should be underway again shortly.
Atletico need to score a further three goals this evening to advance to the Champions League final. They will need to come out firing from the off to have any chance of pulling off the most unlikeliest of feats.
What a first half of football that was! Atletico took the game to their city rivals and had them rocking thanks to goals from Saul Niguez and Antoine Griezmann. However, Isco delivered a hammer blow to the hope of Diego Simeone's men before the break, notching a vital away goal.
HALF-TIME: ATLETICO MADRID 2-1 REAL MADRID
45' + 3' The referee ends the first half.
45' + 2' WIDE! One last threat for Atletico before half-time fails to emerge as Savic heads Koke's cross wide of the post.
45' There will be two minutes of added time.
44' Torres collides with Navas as the keeper attempts to clear the danger. There is a slight delay as the Real man receives treatement on the pitch.
44' Atletico now need to score five goals this evening to progress. That away goal is a hammer blow for Simeone and his men.
Isco
Goal
42' GOALLLLL!!!! ISCO SCORES! A huge moment in the tie as Real notch an away goal. Benzema is the architect as he creates the opening with a sumptuous piece of skill to beat three Atletico defenders on the byline to tee up Kroos. The German's powerful strike is brilliantly saved by Oblak, but the rebound falls perfectly for Isco to slot the ball into the net. Could that be game over?
41' Real are struggling to threaten the home side at the back, with Kroos' latest corner flying into the hands of Oblak.
38' SAVE! Isco raids with menace down the left flank and he cuts inside Gimenez to drive at goal with his right foot, but his tame effort is saved with ease by Oblak.
Gabi
Yellow Card
37' Gabi is yellow-carded for being too vociferous in his appeals to the referee. The cards are mounting up this evening.
36' Carrasco breaks towards the edge of the Real box once again and he cuts inside on his left foot. However, he just overruns the ball and allows Modric to make an important interception.
Sergio Ramos
Yellow Card
34' Ramos is booked for being overzealous in his appeal to the referee.
D. Godín
Yellow Card
34' Godin goes into the book for his challenge on Ronaldo.
34' Tensions are simmering here as Ronaldo goes down under a firm challenge in the air from Godin. He does performs a few rolls on the deck to emphasize the point to the referee.
32' BLOCK! Zidane's men probe midway through the Atletico half, but are stopped from penetrating further. Casemiro tries his luck from distance, but his strike is blocked by Griezmann doing his defensive duties.
30' Marcelo goes on a charge through the inside left channel and he breaks into the box, only to be stopped by a solid intervention from Saul. Atletico are putting huge amounts of effort in all over the pitch.
27' Real are struggling to get a grip of the match. They cannot retain possession in the final third, which is leaving them vulnerable to the long ball over the top.
25' Saul is late on Isco as the midfielder offloads in the final third, presenting a free-kick in a decent position for the visitors.
24' Ramos has to be very careful at the back as he's left one-on-one with Carrasco and a bouncing ball, but the Real skipper clears the danger with ease.
22' Atletico's direct approach is causing issues for the visitors at the moment. The switch for Torres ahead of Gameiro appears to be working for Simeone.
20' Ramos attempts to guide Kroos' corner towards the net, but he can only send his effort over the bar. It's all going Atletico's way at the moment.
19' Marcelo raids down the left and wins a corner off the body of Gimenez. The visitors need to stem the tide somehow here. A spell in the Atletico half could be just what they need to spark themselves into life.
18' Real are rocking at the back and need a sustained period of possession to bring this game under control.
A. Griezmann
Penalty Goal
16' GOALLLLL!!!! GRIEZMANN CONVERTS! We have a game on our hands now! Griezmann banishes his demons of his penalty miss in the Champions League final last season as he strikes his spot kick through the gloves of Navas into the net. The Real keeper should save the effort as it was poorly struck, but he just couldn't get a strong enough hand on it to keep it out.
15' PENALTY TO ATLETICO! Torres is brought down by Varane in the box and the referee points to the spot.
Koke
Assist
12' Koke lifts a delightful cross in from the right and the quality of his delivery is rewarded by a fine header from Saul.
Saúl
Goal
12' GOALLLLL!!! SAUL HEADS HOME!!! GAME ON! Atletico take the lead on the night and reduce their arrears to two goals as Saul powers a header past Navas at his near post. The delivery from Koke was sublime and the midfielder rose highest in the box, producing a bullet of an effort to find the back of the net.
12' OVER! Carrasco collects 30 yards from goal and he goes for the strike from distance, but Marcelo deflects his effort over the bar.
11' A frenetic start to the game, with both teams enjoying early chances. Atletico need that breakthrough though to open up the match.
10' Carrasco again threatens down the right and he swings a dangerous cross into the six-yard box, but no player in a red and white shirt is there to convert.
8' Carrasco goes on the surge down the right flank and he cuts inside into the box, but cannot offload under pressure. He looks to the referee for a foul, but the official waves play on.
7' SAVE! Modric swings a free-kick in from the right flank and Casemiro rises highest at the back post. His effort is on target and is travelling at speed, only for Oblak to make a fine diving stop.
S. Savić

6' Savic goes into the book for bringing down Isco on the flank, handing Real a free-kick in a decent position.
6' OVER! Koke swings the ball in from the resulting corner and Torres has a free header. The Spaniard sends his effort into the deck, but it bounces just over the bar.
5' SAVE! Carrasco sends a low cross into the box and Koke on the stretch guides an effort towards the bottom corner, but Navas turns the ball past the post.
Danilo
Yellow Card
4' Danilo catches Filipe Luis with a high boot and goes into the book.
3' Ronaldo collects a loose ball on the edge of the Atletico box, but his strike is tame and straight at Oblak.
2' OVER! Griezmann registers the first effort of the game as he blasts a left-footed strike over the bar from 30 yards. The Frenchman will need to be at the peak of his powers this evening.
1' Ramos and Torres collide in the air, sending the Real skipper tumbling to the deck. The referee awards a free-kick to the visitors.
1' We're underway in this semi-final second leg.
The players are out on the pitch to a cauldron of noise at the Vicente Calderon. We should be underway shortly.
STAT ATTACK! Atletico have won 17 of their 22 Champions League home matches under Simeone's tenure.
That stat is a daunting prospect for Simeone's men, but Barcelona proved that anything is possible by overturning a four-goal deficit in the round-of-16 against Paris Saint-Germain.
STAT ATTACK! No team has overturned a three-goal deficit in the semi-finals of the Champions League.
Real have made just the one change from their side that claimed a comfortable win in the first leg. Daniel Carvajal misses out due to injury and is replaced by Danilo at right-back.
Simeone has made two changes to his side from their first-leg defeat. Jose Gimenez replaces Lucas Hernandez at right-back, while Fernando Torres leads the line alongside Antoine Griezmann, ousting Kevin Gameiro from the line-up.
Real subs: Rodriguez, Casilla, Kovacic, Vazquez, Asensio, Morata, Nacho.
REAL (4-3-3): Navas; Danilo, Varane, Sergio Ramos, Marcelo; Modric, Casemiro, Kroos; Isco, Benzema, Ronaldo.
Atletico subs: Maya, Tiago, Correa, Hernandez, Gameiro, Partey, Gaitan.
ATLETICO (4-4-2): Oblak; Gimenez, Savic, Godin, Filipe Luis; Koke, Gabi, Saul, Carrasco; Griezmann, Torres.
The team news has been announced and we'll start with the home side.
We should be set for a thrilling contest, with Los Blancos still determined to become the first side to successfully defend the Champions League crown since the competition changed its format in the 1992/93 campaign.
Ronaldo put on a masterclass of clinical finishing last week to put his side in command. Atletico will have to come at Real this evening, opening up opportunities for the Portuguese and his team-mates on the break.
Diego Simeone's men have a lot of work ahead of them this evening to have a hope of reaching the final. Cristiano Ronaldo's hat-trick in the first leg has handed Zinedine Zidane's men a huge advantage, with the home side needing a huge turn of events at the Vicente Calderon.
Following Juventus' triumph over Monaco last night, we know the Bianconeri will be playing in the final in Cardiff on June 3. The question is will it be Real or Atletico joining them?
Good evening and welcome to the live commentary of the Champions League semi-final second leg clash between Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid.
