Commentary

That's all from us, we'll see you for the next match, goodbye!
Neither side moves up or down the table following this game, but Atleti are now just two points off new La Liga leaders Sevilla, who drew 2-2 with Alaves concurrently to this match to move above Real Sociedad on goal difference. Osasuna remain eighth, and can take positives from this performance if they're to continue with their strong start to the season.
In what was quite a dour game for large spells, it's hard to look beyond Yannick Carrasco as the stand-out player in this match. Four shots, five key passes, including the assist for the winner, and three successful crosses, amounted to a world-class performance from the Belgium winger. Outstanding.
What a finish to the game!!! It didn't look like a winner was going to come from either side, but up popped Felipe at the near post to head in a vital goal for Atletico that keeps them firmly in the La Liga title race!!! Osasuna gave a good account of themselves and had some of the best chances, but Atleti's quality shone through in the end to ensure that all three points stay at the Wanda Metropolitano!
90' + 3' FULL-TIME: ATLETICO MADRID 1-0 OSASUNA
90' + 2' OFF THE POST!!!! There's some unbelievable scenes as Herrera comes up for the Osasuna corner, but he's caught in no-man's land when Atletico clear and come forward on the break!!! Carrasco, depsite having a four-on-two overlap, shoots from halfway, and the ball agonisingly hits the post as it rolls towards goal!!!!
90' + 2' SAVED!!! Kike Garcia latches onto a loose ball from the edge of the box, and fires a shot across the face of goal, forcing Oblak into another save as he tips it around the post!!!!
90' + 1' We're into an additional three minutes of added wime at the end of this second half.
Roberto Torres
Manu Sánchez
Osasuna
89' Sánchez also comes off, and Osasuna's vice-captain, Roberto Torres, comes on for him.
Kike Barja
Moncayola
Osasuna
89' Moncayola is the next Osasuna player to be withdrawn, and Kike Barja enters the fray in place of him.
Carlos Martín
Yellow Card
Atlético Madrid
89' Martin nips in ahead of Sanchez to win the ball, but catches the Osasuna defender in the process and is yellow carded.
Y. Carrasco
Assist
Atlético Madrid
87' It's not come from his open play running and crossing, but Carrasco getting the assist is just reward for what been a very good performance from the Belgium winger!
Felipe
Goal
Atlético Madrid
87' GOOOOOAAAAALLLLLLLLLL!!!!! Finally a breakthrough for Atleti!!!! Martin's first involvement is to win a corner, and from the Carrasco ball in, Felipe rises higher than the rest at the front post, and heads the ball past Herrera into an empty net!!!! He's happy with that one, and so are the home fans, as they lead 1-0!!!!
Carlos Martín
Š. Vrsaljko
Atlético Madrid
85' Vrsaljko comes off for Atletico, and he's replaced by youngster Carlos Martín.
84' Moncayola has run his blood to water, almost, in this match so far. His 10.8 kilometers run is the highest of any player on the pitch, and he's helping Osasuna maintain a degree of control in midfield against the star-studded Atleti lineup.
David García
Yellow Card
Osasuna
82' David García clashes with Suarez in the air, fouls the Atleti substitute, and is booked for his troubles.
81' WIDE!!!!!! Carrasco skilsfully makes his way into the box and has space to shoot. He beats one, two, three players and just when the chance seems to have gone, fires a shot from the tightest of angles that just misses the post and crashes into the side netting!!!
80' A loose headed ball comes out to Kondogbia, who despite the crowd urgiung him to shoot, attempts to thread the ball back forwards for Cunha to latch onto. The execution doesn't match the intention though, and it rolls out for a goal kick.
78' Koke is down after being absolutely clattered by Herrera when competing for a cross. Had the Osasuna keeper not won the ball there, a penalty against him could've been on the cards.
77' There's a scramble in the box from an Osasuna corner, as Oblak competes for the ball in the air with David Garcia. The Atleti keeper eventually does gather the ball safely, and wins a free-kick for his side in the process.
Matheus Cunha
A. Griezmann
Atlético Madrid
75' Griezmann couldn't find that elsuvie opening goal, and Matheus Cunha is on in his place to hopefully do just that.
Iñigo Pérez
D. Brašanac
Osasuna
75' Brašanac comes off for Osasuna, and Iñigo Pérez takes his place on the field.
G. Kondogbia
Marcos Llorente
Atlético Madrid
75' Llorente is withdrawn for Atletico, and Geoffrey Kondogbia is introduced.
74' Atleti have an overlap on the left and can break forward, but De Paul's first-time ball for Carrasco is overhit and goes out for a throw-in. He could've taken his time there, and another attacking chance goes begging.
72' The half has really settled down now, as neither side commits too many bodies forward for any particular attack. An opener may well come, but it's going to take one of these teams to really change the way they're going about this game, as the ball seems to be moving at a snail's pace at the moment.
70' An Osasuna corner is headed clear, and Oier's first involvement is to spray a woeful rebound shot well wide of the target.
68' Atletico play some beautiful one-touch football down the right to tee up Vrsaljko, but he wastes all that hard work by slicing a cross straight behind the goal, to trouble no one but the ball-boys.
Oier
Lucas Torró
Osasuna
66' The booked Torró also comes off, and club captain Oier comes on for him.
A. Budimir
E. Ávila
Osasuna
66' Ávila is brought off in Osasuna's first change, and Ante Budimir replaces him.
R. De Paul
T. Lemar
Atlético Madrid
65' Lemar is also withdrawn by Simeone, and Rodrigo de Paul comes on in his place.
L. Suárez
Á. Correa
Atlético Madrid
65' Diego Simeone wants more attacking firepower up front for his side, so who better to introduce than Luis Suarez? The Uruguayan comes on for Correa.
63' Osasuna win the ball high up the field and have a three-on-two. The ball falls to Kike Garcia, who looks to chip Oblak, but his effort isn't good enough to fool a keeper as good as the man between the sticks for Atleti and he catches the shot with ease.
61' Lemar has been playing with added vigour in this second half. Two of his three shots have been blocked, but he's completed a team-high 43 passes inside the Osasuna half, and has also completed two good crosses into dangerous areas.
59' Correa latches onto a ball forward from Carrasco and tries to shoot from a tight angle. He struggles to keep the ball in, and the eventual shot comes from outside the field of play.
58' BLOCKED!!! A great cross from the right by Vrsaljko is met by the head of Lemar. His head is powerful, and on-target, but Unai Garcia meets the ball and deflects it just wide of the post for another corner to the home side!
Lucas Torró
Yellow Card
Osasuna
56' Torró is booked by the referee, after another foul on Correa.
56' BALL IN THE NET!!!!! A Koke ball for Correa sees him unselfishly tee up Griezmann, who slots the ball past a helpless Herrera and into the net!!! However, both Atleti strikers were miles offside from the original ball, and so the goal is disallowed.
54' A Lemar cross from the left almost opens up a shooting chance, but his ball is just behind the head of Griezmann and Osasuna come forward on the break.
52' Carrasco beats Vidal on the break and sends Lemar on a forward run. He looks to have the pace but Unai Garcia gets back in cover, to prevent the France midfielder having a one-on-one opportunity against Herrera.
51' Lemar looks to drive into the box, but is crowded out and tees up Hermoso. He unleashes a wayward cross with far too much power, that flies well over the goal and out of play without threatening at all.
49' CLOSE!!! Llorente gets the run on Sanchez and crosses into the six-ayrd box. Herrera dives out to punch clear, but it only lands as far as Correa. He tees up Carrasco at the back post, but the winger can't get his shot aay in time and the ball is cleared away.
48' Koke's corner finds Vrsaljko in the box, but he can't direct his header goalwards and it spins away and out of play.
47' Vrsaljko gets around the outside of Sanchez, and crosses into the box. It's headed away by David Garcia, but behind for the first Atleti corner of the second half.
46' We're back underway for the second half, as Atletico continue their hunt for three points at home!
It's almost time for the second half, as both sides head back out onto the pitch at the Wanda Metropolitano!
It's hard to see an opener in this match coming from anywhere else but the boot of Atletico's Griezmann. He's had three shots already, one of which was blocked, and two interceptions too, suggesting that he's more than capable of winning the ball high up the pitch to create an attacking chance for the home side!
It's not been the prettiest of first-halves and the chances have been at a minimum, but there were some inclinations that Atletico Madrid do have the firepower to put this game to bed, should they be the first to score. Osasuna haven't been a clear second-best though, and that long-range shot from Torro was by far the most exciting that the action got in the first half., Both sets of fans will hope that the second half is far more watchable!
45' + 5' HALF-TIME: ATLETICO MADRID 0-0 OSASUNA.
45' + 4' Lemar dribbles into the box skilfully, under severe pressure from Vidal, but is eventually dispossessed by Unai Garcia.
45' + 3' Osasuna fire a long ball forward on the break, and Oblak is forced to come out of his goal to clear the ball into touch as Avila bears down on him!
45' + 1' We're one minute into three of injury time at the end of the first half.
A. Griezmann
Yellow Card
Atlético Madrid
45' Griezmann is booked for colliding with Osasuna keeper Herrera, who is still down and being given treatment.
45' WIDE!!!! Llorente plays a beautiful one-two with Correa and cuts the ball back to Griezmann. He's under heavy pressure from both Herrera and Cruz, and can't quite get his shot on target as is rolls just wide of the left-hand post!
44' Griezmann looks to create some shooting space but is crowded out, and Lemar's subsequent shot is blocked, but the home side retain possession and continue on the attack.
42' It's not looking good for Vrsaljko, who is still down and being given some serious attention by the home side's medical staff.
40' There's a mid-air clash between Vrsaljko and Sanchez that sees both fall to the floor, and the Atletico full-back is in need of treatment.
38' AMBITIOUS!!!! Hermoso spots Herrera well off his line and, from just behind halfway, fancies his chances with a looping shot that lands on the top of the net!!! The retreating Herrera probably had it covered, but that's two long-range efforts in just a few minutes now!
37' Koke dinks a lofted pass into the box with his forwards waiting, but it's easily headed away by Cruz and the chance breaks down.
35' WOW!!!!!! Play breaks down for Osasuna and there's a loose ball about 35 yards out. Torro decides to have a crack and smashes the ball first-time towards goal, drawing a diving save from Oblak!!!! That would've been a goal-of-the-season contender, and luckily Oblak saw the flying shot just in time!
33' Kike Garcia has the ball in the box and lays it off for Moncayola. He looks to cross, and the low driven ball skids across the face of goal, but with no one there to meet it, the ball goes out for an Atleti goal kick.
32' The home side win a corner, but Lemar's ball to Hermoso has far too much weight on it, and loops away for a throw-in to Osasuna.
30' The runs forward of Osasuna on the break are becoming less and less frequent. The arm-wrestle in midfield is slowly turning the way of the champions, whose formation switch to a 4-1-4-1 has seen them establish more dominance in the middle of the park.
28' Carrasco has been arguably Atletico's most creative player since switching flanks. Three key passes already, on top of a successful cross, suggests that the opener to this game may very well come from the left side of the pitch.
26' Avila sets off on a run forward and gets past both Lemar and Koke, but upon trying to get around Felipe, the Brazil defender expertly dispossesses the Osasuna striker and plays the ball back to his goalkeeper.
24' BLOCKED!!!! Carrasco latches onto Hermoso's throughball and cuts the ball back across goal. Griezmann's waiting, but his shot is blocked off the upper body of Unai Garcia. Griezmann shouts for handball, but he's a lone voice as the referee waves away any protests.
22' Correa, who has moved out to the right-hand side, is again brought down by Torro, gaining Atletico another attacking free-kick.
21' Osasuna break forward and Brasanac's cut-back is met by Avila on the volley. It's powerful and low, but Felipe is there to block the shot and the home side clear!
20' WIDE!!!!! Griezmann again goes close!!! Koke feeds the ball to the France forward in the box, who turns an looks to place a shot in the top corner. Herrera's beaten, but so is the post as the ball rustles into the side-netting!!!
18' Griezmann is again the target of a Carrasco cross, this time from a deeper position, but Cruz is there to head the ball away for an Atletico corner.
17' Osasuna reply straight away, and a high, hanging cross from the left lands on the head of Kike Garcia. It's on target, but not powerful enough to trouble Oblak, who catches the ball with ease.
16' OVER!!!! A first real chance for Atleti as Carrasco wins a loose ball on the byline. He cuts inside to cross for Griezmann, whose glancing header flies just over the top of the crossbar!!!!
15' A good spell of possession ends badly for Osasuna, as Atletico drive them back away from their goal. the eventual cross does come from Sanchez, but it's quickly clared before David Garcia brings Griezmann down upon receiving the ball.
13' Atletico Madrid are the only opponent that Osasuna coach Jagoba Arrasate has faced in La Liga losing every match, with six defeats in twelve games against the champions.
11' Osasuna are working the ball in and round the Atletico box, just biding their time as they look to carve out an opening. There's not much of a press coming to match it from the hosts, though, and they're clearly waiting for Osasuna to make a mistake or directly challenge a defender.
9' Lemar does well to retain possession as he links up with Correa, who eventually hits a wayward shot on the turn that doesn't trouble Herrera in the slightest.
8' Osasuna have won just one of their last 30 visits to Madrid sides in LaLiga, beating Leganes 1-0 in August 2019, and have failed to score in 10 of their last 13 trips to the Spanish capital.
6' The floated ball in from the free-kick is headed away, but Lemar hits a rebound on the half-volley, which misses Herrera's left post by about five yards.
6' Torro brings down Correa in a dangerous position, and Atleti have their first free-kick of the match.
5' Carrasco has moved over to the lefrt-wing, with Llorente filling in on the right and Lemar drifting centrally. The two link-up down the left but the chance comes to nothing as Unai Garcia intercepts.
3' Brasanac and Sanchez link up well down the left, before the former is fouled by Savic for the match's first free-kick.
2' Atleti have won their last six matches against Osasuna in LaLiga, scoring a total of 18 goals in the process. It’s their longest winning streak against the Navarrese in the top-flight.
1' Correa kicks off for Atleti, and we're underway in this match!
The Wanda Metropolitano is rocking as the two sides come out, and kick-off isn't far away now!
Captain Oier and vice-captain Roberto Sanchez are both on the bench for Osasuna in this game, so centre-back David Garcia will lead the side at the heart of a five-man backline, looking to eradicate the threat held by the considerable firepower in Atletico’s ranks.
Joao Felix, who has scored four goals in four games against Osasuna in La Liga, misses out for Atletico altogether in this match, whilst top-scorer Luis Suarez can only make the bench, with a front-two of Angel Correa and Antoine Griezmann preferred by Diego Simeone.
OSASUNA SUBS: Dario Ramos, Oier Sanjurjo, Roberto Torres, Kike Barja, Ruben Garcia, Jonas Ramalho, Cote, Ante Budimir, Inigo Perez, Robert Ibanez, Javi Martinez, Jesus Areso.
OSASUNA (5-3-2): Sergio Herrera; Nacho Vidal, Unai Garcia, David Garcia, Alvaro Cruz Armada, Manuel Sanchez; Jon Moncayola, Lucas Torro, Darko Brasanac; Kike Garcia, Chimy Avila.

ATLETICO MADRID (4-4-2): Jan Oblak; Sime Vrsaljko, Stefan Savic, Felipe, Mario Hermoso; Yannick Carrasco, Koke, Marcos Llorente, Thomas Lemar; Angel Correa, Antoine Griezmann.
Osasuna have enjoyed a bright start too, and are eighth on 19 points. A win in this match would see them rise to fifth in the table, one place below the home side.
Champions Atletico are still five points off the pace in La Liga’s title challenge, but this game is one they have in hand over surprise leaders Real Soceidad, as Diego Simeone’s side look to close the gap at the top of the ladder.
Hello and welcome to live coverage of this La Liga fixture, between Atletico Madrid and Osasuna.
