16th Finals

That's all from us for Eintracht Frankfurt's 2-1 win over Arsenal. Thanks for staying with us and goodbye for now!
The win means Frankfurt are now second in the group with the ball in their court in terms of qualification for the knockouts after Standard Liege and Vitoria drew. As for Arsenal, they're still almost certain to qualify, but they'll have to wait for the final match to secure their spot. Since they beat Standard 4-0 in their first fixture, they'd have to lose by five goals in the reverse to miss out. In the meantime, Arsenal are back in domestic action against Norwich, while Frankfurt travel to Mainz this weekend.
The expression 'a game of two halves' really rings true here. Arsenal were on top in the first half against a seriously poor Frankfurt side and took the lead through Aubameyang in stopage time, but Martinelli was guilty of missing some great chances to create a bigger cushion. The Gunners couldn't find the same intensity after the break and collapsed in a 10-minute spell in which Kamada scored twice to turn the game around. It's now seven games without a win for Emery and Arsenal.
Gonçalo Paciência
Yellow Card
90' + 2' Paciencia is shown a yellow card for preventing Martinez from taking the goal-kick after his shot went wide.
90' + 2' MISS! It should be three! Da Costa gets space for a cross and picks out Paciencia who hits it first time, but it's wide from close range!
M. Guendouzi
Yellow Card
90' + 1' Frustration is boiling over and it's Guendouzi next to be shown a yellow card for a robust challenge on Gacinovic.
90' We're into three minutes of added time at the end of the game.
89' That's beautiful from Saka - he just shifts his bodyweight to get away from his marker, drawing a challenge from Kostic. Saka then goes down in the box, the crowd call for a penalty, but the referee waves it away.
88' You just couldn't see this coming in the first half! Eintracht have been poor domestically and in Europe - losing two of their four group games, more than they had in their previous 18 in the competition - but they've turned the game around within a 10-minute spell after the break.
G. Xhaka
Yellow Card
86' Xhaka now goes into the book, but not for the foul on Paciencia, which was debatable to begin with. He's shown a yellow card for dissent.
84' Kostic again has space to attack on the left. He passes back to Kohr, who returns the ball to Kostic with a one-two, but the cutback is blocked.
82' Kamada on the break feeds Kostic to his left. He cuts inside and tries to pick out Kohr with a pass into the middle, but it's cut out.
80' Arsenal don't look at all like scoring. If only they had options on the bench they could have brought on! Well, Pepe and Lacazette were those options, but Emery has already made all three substitutions.
78' Check this out for a turnaround - in the first half, Frankfurt failed to find the target, while Arsenal tested Ronnow six times. Now fast forward to the second half and Frankfurt have had four shots on target - scoring twice - while Arsenal haven't at all.
L. Torreira
S. Mustafi
76' Mustafi took a hit during Kamada's second goal and he won't be able to continue, with Torreira replacing him. It sees Xhaka drop into the back four.
S. Mustafi
Yellow Card
74' Mustafi is the next to go into the book with a challenge from behind on Paciencia. He's suspended for the final group game.
73' Saka wins a free-kick off Da Costa in a good position here to the left of the goal. Xhaka steps up, but it's a poor delivery. Willock nearly makes something of it, but Frankfurt clear.
73' Arsenal are pushing a lot of players forward in search of their equaliser, but they risk leaving themselves exposed to a counter-attack, as Gacinovic demonstrated just a few minutes beforehand.
71' Arsenal are on the attack with a lovely free-flowing move, but Chambers is caught offside as he tries to put Ozil's throughball back into the box. There's some life in the Gunners yet.
70' Gacinovic is in here with a chance to make it 3-1, but Sokratis gets across and blocks! How's Gacinovic getting in behind? Arsenal's defensive line are so high and caught totally unaware of his run.
68' What a turnaround from Frankfurt! They're now on course to win just their second away game against English opponents. They've only won once beforehand in six games in England, a 2-1 victory coming all the way back in 1967 against Burnley in the Fairs Cup.
66' In the process of Kamada's second, Mustafi took a knock and needs treatment from the physios. He's hobbles off the pitch, but will play on for now.
D. Kamada
64' GOAAAL! GOAAAL! FRANKFURT LEAD 2-1!! It's Kamada with a brace! The warning signs were apparent, but Arsenal didn't react to the changing flow of the game. All from a poorly defended corner - the ball drops to Kamada in space at the edge of the box and he tucks a low shot into the bottom-left corner.
63' GOOD SAVE! Frankfurt move the ball well across the pitch and Kostic has a chance to test Martinez, forcing him to drop down low to his right and palm his effort behind for a corner.
63' Anxiety is spreading among the Arsenal players and they're rapidly losing confidence as Frankfurt gain momentum. The visitors have a corner, what can they pull out the bag? They go short and Kamada plays it in, but it's a poor ball and Arsenal can break.
62' Ozil has a chance to launch a counter-attack, but he turns back instead and puts Tierney under some pressure with a looping cross-field pass, forcing the left-back to turn back to his keeper. That's a good chance for a break wasted.
M. Özil
Gabriel Martinelli
60' Arsenal losing their lead has forced Emery to turn to the bench and he takes off Martinelli - who had a great first half, but was perhaps guilty of being wasteful - for Ozil. What can he orchestrate?
D. Abraham
Yellow Card
59' Another booking for Frankfurt. Abraham this time catches Guendouzi's ankle and is booked.
59' Eintracht still on the front foot for now! And they have a free-kick inside the Arsenal half. Kostic wellies it goalwards, but it's straight at Martinez and easy for him to take the sting out of it.
57' Martinez - the Arsenal keeper - couldn't do anything about that goal, but he should rightfully be furious with his defenders. Sokratis, in particular, didn't get tight to his man and gave him too much space for that shot.
D. da Costa
55' Da Costa with the assist, passing inside to Kamada, but it's all about the finish and the way Kamada created space with a tidy shimmy and drop of the shoulder.
D. Kamada
55' GOOOAAAL! FRANKFURT EQUALISE! Will Arsenal come to rue their missed chances? Kamada punishes the Gunners for their profligacy and drags Frankfurt level with a wonderful left-footed strike into the bottom-left corner. It's his first European goal!
54' Kostic, though, has a chance for a cross, but Mustafi gets it clear and he gets some distance behind it. Arsenal on the back foot for the time being.
52' It's only 1-0 for now. Arsenal without a doubt should have this game in the bag already, but Ronnow has just about kept the visitors in it. He's the only Eintracht player to deserve credit really.
50' Arsenal on course to go through to the knockouts for now and, if they were to do so, it would be the 20th consecutive season that they've got past the group stage in either the Champions League or Europa League. The last time they failed to do so was the 1999-2000 season.
48' WILLOCK DENIED! Martinelli starts the second half just as he began the first - on fire! He feeds Willock with a great throughball and the midfielder tries to dink it over the keeper, but Abraham is there to get a touch on it and divert it behind!
48' From the short Arsenal corner, Xhaka beats his marker with some superb trickery and picks out Chambers, but he blasts it over the bar! Sure he's a defender, but he's got to be hitting the target from around eight yards out!
46' KICK-OFF! Action resumes in north London with Arsenal up by one.
D. Kohr
G. Fernandes
46' A second change for Frankfurt as Fernandes makes way for Kohr.
M. Gaćinović
André Silva
46' A change for Frankfurt before the second half kicks off - Gacinovic is coming on, with Silva coming off after failing to have an impact up top.
This has been an abysmal performance from Eintracht so far, though. They're not helping themselves and so frequently tend to give the ball away to Arsenal in dangerous positions. Their ageing defence, too, are having problems coping with the youthful exuberance of both Martinelli and Saka on the flanks.
Arsenal lead 1-0 at the break thanks to an Aubameyang goal that came just as Arsenal seemed to be fading. They started excellently and should have gone ahead in the 16th minute when Martinelli saw an effort saved then another cleared off the line in quick succession. The Gunners did lose some of their composure when Luiz went off with an injury after 31 minutes, but - as he so often does - Aubameyang popped up with a vital goal in stoppage time.
45' + 5' Danger, though, for Arsenal as Kostic gets into a good crossing position, but Tierney is well placed to cut it out.
45' + 5' And Arsenal head straight up the other end and Aubameyang picks out Xhaka at the edge of the box, but he slips at the wrong moment and scuffs his effort wide!
45' + 2' Xhaka is okay for now and has come back onto the pitch.
B. Saka
45' + 1' Well, it didn't look as though Saka touched the ball at first, but replays suggest it took the faintest of touches off him before reaching Aubameyang.
P. Aubameyang
45' + 1' GOAAAL! ARSENAL LEAD 1-0! Great play again from Martinelli to create a yard of space for himself on the right and he fizzes a low cross into the six-yard box, left by Saka and Aubameyang is there to drill it home. It takes a touch off Ronnow's foot and he very nearly manages to knock it over the bar, but it's over the line and Aubameyang now into double figures for the season.
45' We're into five minutes of added time at the end of the half.
43' Another break play for another injury - Xhaka now with a knee issue picked up in a clash with Sow requiring treatment from the physios. Torreira again is sent to warm up.
42' RONNOW SAVES! Willock does exceptionally well to pick out Saka through traffic in the box and the teenager draws another good save from Ronnow at his near post. And Chambers with a volley on the follow-up forces Ronnow into another save!
40' Guendouzi, long to Saka on the left, but it's inaccurate and Abraham heads it away. He's set up a decent move for Frankfurt, but they can't make much of it and end up giving away a goal-kick to Arsenal.
38' Frankfurt finally work the ball into a decent position here - Silva feeding Da Costa to his right, but it's a poor ball from the wing-back and Sokratis heads it behind for a corner. Arsenal, though, looking shaky since losing Luiz!
36' Xhaka attempts to pick out Aubameyang with a long pass over the Eintracht defence, but it's a little overhit this time and runs throught to Ronnow.
Gabriel Martinelli
Yellow Card
34' A second yellow card of the game, this time going to Martinelli - he's lunged into Kostic, but does make contact with the ball!
33' Hasebe with a poor clearance to Guendouzi, who heads the ball up to Aubameyang in a dangerous position. Abraham, though, reads the threat and cuts it out before Aubameyang can feed Saka to his left.
M. Guendouzi
David Luiz
31' Luiz picked up an injury earlier in the half and he's unable to continue, clutching his chest ever since. Guendouzi comes on to replace him in midfield.
30' Ronnow needs treatment, so the physios have come on to help him out. Guendouzi's also out warming up on the sidelines as Luiz won't be able to continue.
29' Saka nearly gets in behind, but Ronnow rushes off his line to prevent him getting a shot away. He's picked up an injury in the process - brave goalkeeping to close Saka down. But what a threat Saka is with his pace and footwork.
27' This Eintracht side look totally different to the one that beat Bayern Munich 5-1 at the beginning of this month - they're struggling to find any rhythm or coherence to their game and at the back, in particular, they're disorganised.
25' Luiz, wide to Martinelli. He dinks a ball through to Chambers - who's making a great run into the box from right-back - but his first touch lets him down.
23' After an early flurry of chances for Martinelli, the game's just settled down a little with Frankfurt in possession, but they've struggled all game to maintain it. They give the ball away again and Aubameyang wins a throw out on the left.
21' Eintracht are ever so vulnerable at the back! Xhaka sends a free-kick into the box and there's a miscommunication between Ronnow and his defence, with both very nearly missing the ball entirely!
F. Kostić
Yellow Card
20' The first booking of the game goes to Kostic - he tries to win the ball off Chambers and ends up clambering all over him and pulling him back to do so. Worthy of a yellow card, says the referee.
18' A reminder that Arsenal won the reverse fixture against Eintracht 3-0 on matchday one, in what was the first ever meeting between the sides.
16' OFF THE LINE! From the second corner, Martinelli gets to the near post to meet Xhaka's corner, but Fernandes now clears it off the line! Arsenal so close to going in front!
16' SAVE! Martinelli feeding Willock on the right for a cross, but Fernandes blocks for an Arsenal corner. It's Xhaka's delivery, and a great save from Ronnow to deny Martinelli at the near post! A really poor defensive header from Da Costa back across goal sets that chance up!
14' Luiz is clutching his rib cage as he walks off the pitch gingerly, but he's back on for the time being. How much longer, though, is up for debate.
12' Play's halted temporarily for Luiz to receive treatment - he took a blow while winnning back the ball off Silva and seems to be winded. Torreira and Guendouzi have been sent to warm up.
11' GREAT CHANCE! Saka gets a yard of space out on the left and he crosses into the box, but Willock and Aubameyang seem to get in each other's way! It's Aubameyang that gets his head to it, but it's wide.
10' A chance now for Frankfurt to build an attack from a goal-kick, but their passing is way off the mark and Arsenal easily regain the ball.
8' How much of a difference will Luiz make tonight? It's no secret that Arsenal have a leaky defence - 27 goals they've conceded in all competitions so far, so to have an extra body shielding the defence is prudent. But Luiz's positional sense isn't the best, so it remains to be seen whether he's the right option.
6' Corner to Eintracht - a good delivery into the six-yard box from Kamada, but Arsenal head behind for a second corner. Eintracht go short this time, looking to switch the angle of the cross, but Luiz clears. Paciencia is lurking just behind so a vital header from Luiz.
4' Could there be a chance for Arsenal early on here? It's a poor clearance from Ronnow straight to Saka, but the teenager can't quite get the ball out of his feet to pick a pass.
3' An early tactical change for Arsenal with Luiz moving into holding midfield and Willock pushing on to make a three behind lone striker Aubameyang in a 4-2-3-1. From right to left then, the back four now comprises Chambers, Sokratis, Mustafi and Tierney.
1' KICK-OFF! Eintracht get the game started.
Don’t go anywhere because the teams are out and kick-off is on the way.
A sixth start of the season for the highly-rated Martinelli. Seven goals in 10 appearances he’s scored so far, with three coming in three Europa League games - a goal every 90 minutes in the competition.
Six changes from the Southampton draw for the Gunners today with a more youthful feel to the side - the likes of Nelson, Willock, Saka and Tierney all start. But the headlines of course go to Xhaka, who’s back in the first team since his spat with his own fans against Crystal Palace last month. Aubameyang wears the armband, though. The same goes for Eintracht - just five survivors from their 2-0 defeat at home to Wolfsburg on the weekend.

If you think of Arsenal against German sides, the constant thrashings at the hands of Bayern Munich instantly spring to mind. But more generally, the Gunners have lost more European home games against German sides than they have against opponents from any other nation.
Unai Emery is a manager under pressure, but a result against Eintracht and safe passage to the next round of the Europa League would perhaps go some way to relieving some of the tension engulfing the club. A middling season in the Bundesliga sees Eintracht residing in 10th, so a cup run would be equally as welcome - and a win in London would see them go just a point behind Arsenal with a game to play.
Hello and welcome to live coverage of matchday five in the Europa League. It’s Arsenal up against Eintracht Frankfurt at Emirates Stadium.
