Commentary

Thanks for joining our commentary this evening. Until next time, goodbye.
Arsenal will play Manchester City in the League Cup final at Wembley. An own goal from Antonio Rudiger and a strike from Granit Xhaka has seen them through after they were forced to come from behind from Eden Hazard's early strike. Arsene Wenger continues to hold the edge over Antonio Conte in their meetings, with the loss leaving the Blues to focus on their battles on three fronts.

87' Mustafi clips Barkley 35 yards from goal and it hands Chelsea a free-kick in a decent position. Alonso and Hazard stand over the ball.
86' Xhaka makes a run from deep to latch on to Ramsey's ball over the top, but he sends his volleyed effort wide of the post.

79' Time is running out for Chelsea, who have created next to nothing in the second half. Do they have something up their sleeve here?
77' Chelsea break back down the left flank and Alonso drills a low ball across the face of goal that has to be turned behind by Monreal at the back post.
76' CHANCE! IWOBI IS DENIED! Arsenal surge through the Chelsea line as Bellerin releases Ozil down the right. The German cuts the ball back for Iwobi, but his low strike inside the box is stopped by the foot of Caballero.

The midfielder instinctively sticks out his leg and diverts the ball past Caballero into the net.

49' Arsenal have started the second half with a stronger intent than the first period and they're on the front foot this time rather than the Blues.
47' OVER! Xhaka latches on to a loose ball just outside the Chelsea box and goes for a strike on his left foot. However, he can only blast his effort over the bar.
46' We're back underway at the Emirates Stadium.
It remains all square in the League Cup semi-final clash between Arsenal and Chelsea, although the match will not be decided by penalties this evening due to Eden Hazard's strike. The Belgian put the Blues ahead in the seventh minute, converting Pedro's throughball past David Ospina. However, Arsenal drew level when Antonio Rudiger put the ball into his own net, with the Gunners benefitting from two deflections inside the box. Both sides struggled to create after their initial bursts, which will have frustrated Arsene Wenger and Antonio Conte on the sideline.

A. Rüdiger
Own Goal

12' GOALLLLLLLL!!!!!!! ARSENAL ARE BACK ON LEVEL TERMS! It's a bizarre one for the Gunners as Monreal heads at goal. It takes a huge deflection off the head of Alonso before striking Rudiger flush on his head. The ball travels with speed past Caballero to find the back of the net. 5' DISALLOWED GOAL! Pedro believes that he has nodded Chelsea in front from Azpilicueta's lofted pass, guiding his effort into the top corner. However, the flag is raised against the Spaniard for offside.
4' Chelsea play the resulting corner short to Moses, who goes for the strike. However, he fires a tame effort on his left foot wide of the post.
3' Iwobi wins the ball from Moses, but loses possession on the edge of his own box. Bakayoko goes for the strike, but sees his effort deflected behind for a corner.

STAT ATTACK! This will be the fifth meeting in all competitions between the two sides this season – the third time they’ve met five times in a single campaign and first since 2003-04 (also 1946-47).
Chelsea make one change from their win over Brighton. Pedro returns from his one-match suspension to replace Michy Batshuayi. Eden Hazard leads the line supported by the Spaniard and Willian in a three-man attack.
Arsenal make only one change from their win over Palace at the weekend. David Ospina replaces Petr Cech between the sticks, with Matt Macey coming on to the bench.
Chelsea subs: Drinkwater, Barkley, Zappacosta, Batshuayi, Cahill, Luiz, Eduardo.
CHELSEA (3-4-3): Caballero; Azpilicueta, Christensen, Rudiger; Moses, Kante, Bakayoko, Alonso; Willian, Hazard, Pedro.
Arsenal subs: Ramsey, Chambers, Maitland-Niles, Kolasinac, Macey, Nelson, Nketiah.

The team news has been announced and we'll start with the home side.
Chelsea crushed Brighton in their Premier League clash at the Amex Stadium last week. Eden Hazard scored a brace, while Willian and Victor Moses also found the net. Like the Gunners, Antonio Conte's men are searching for reinforcements. Ross Barkley has arrived, but once again must settle for a place on the bench this evening.
Without Alexis Sanchez, the Gunners put four goals past Crystal Palace in 22 minutes to secure a dominant victory last time out. The deal sending Sanchez to Manchester United has since been completed, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan moving to the Emirates. The Armenian will not be in action tonight, leaving Arsenal to rely on Mesut Ozil, Alexandre Lacazette and company to steer them into the final.
The two sides played out a goalless draw in the first leg of the contest at Stamford Bridge. The tie remains in the balance, although Arsenal will be aiming to capitalise on home advantage. Nothing has separated the two sides in the Premier League this term, with both matches ending in stalemates, including their 2-2 draw at the Emirates at the begininng of the month.
Good evening and welcome to the live commentary of the League Cup semi-final clash between Arsenal and Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium.
