Commentary

Arsenal have one more pre-season game against Lazio while Chelsea will now look forward to their Community Shield tie against Manchester City. Neither side was entirely convincing today but both have shown they can offer plenty of surprises in the long season ahead. That's all for now. Bye!
Well, that was a stereotypical game of two halves: Chelsea dominated proceedings in the first half while Arsenal finally pegged them back in the second. Both sides will be happy with their day's work, although Chelsea will be disappointed to have let the victory slip right at the end.
FULL-TIME: ARSENAL 1-1 CHELSEA (ARSENAL WIN 6-5 ON PENALTIES)
Iwobi is tasked with winning the match – and he does! 6-5 – Arsenal win on penalties!
Ruben Loftus-Cheek has had a very successful summer, but his penalty is saved by Cech! A tame penalty which Cech dives right to reach.
Ozil keeps the shootout alive with a casual swish of his left foot. It’s going to sudden death.
Piazon is Chelsea’s fifth taker. He slots it away. Five out of five for Chelsea!
Maitland-Niles puts it in the top corner. When is someone going to miss?! 4-4.
Emerson keeps Chelsea’s run going with a shot down the middle. 4-3 Chelsea.
Guendouzi, who’s had a fine game, jogs forward and sticks in the corner, beating Bulka. 3-3.
Victor Moses, composure personified, takes one steps and rolls it into the far corner. 3-2 Chelsea.
Reiss Nelson keeps it level. 2-2.
Abraham, the substitute, takes a confident penalty to maintain Chelsea’s lead. 2-1 Chelsea.
Lacazette steps up and puts it away without any fuss. 1-1.
Cech has stopped one penalty already today. Drinkwater smashes it straight down the middle but Cech just parries it into the top corner. 1-0 Chelsea.
Penalties it is then to decide who gets the points. Arsenal have recent experience of penalties - they lost a shootout with Atletico Madrid last Thursday.
Sarri looks furious that Ampadu has given that free-kick away, and rightly so. Chelsea were looking to see the game out before that. Nevertheless, a draw is no less than Arsenal deserve. They've really turned up in the second half.
END OF 90 MINUTES: ARSENAL 1 - 1 CHELSEA
A. Lacazette
Goal
90' + 3' Ozil taps the ball to Reiss Nelson who whips it across the six-yard box to Lacazette. The French striker didn't know much about it but it bounces off him and goes in! Penalties to come!
R. Nelson
Assist
90' + 3' That really was a fabulous assist by Nelson who hit the ball with venom across the box. Arsenal will feel that goal was completely deserved.
90' + 3' CHANCE! From Ozil's free-kick, the ball falls to Lacazette but Bulka makes a fine stop!
90' + 2' Ampadu gives away another naive free-kick after being lured away from goal. This might be Arsenal's last chance.
90' + 1' Sokratis attacks the corner which is cleverly taken low towards the edge of the box and crossed back in. The ball goes out of play.
90' Arsenal keep on coming. This time it's Christensen who clears from Lacazette. Arsenal have another corner. There will be three added minutes.
89' Guendouzi keeps it moving in Arsenal's midfield but there's a block of Chelsea blue ahead of him. Arsenal try to pass the ball through with some rapid-fire one-twos but Chelsea stand firm.
88' Drinkwater sprays a pass to Victor Moses and Maitland-Niles closes him down quickly. Chelsea pass it back. Time is running out for Arsenal.
86' Nelson takes on Ampadu on the right wing and beats both his opponent and himself, kicking the ball out for a goal-kick.

83' Bulka makes a fantastic save from Iwobi after he gets away a shot in acres of space! Arsenal have a corner again.
83' Arsenal need to find that equalising goal now. Chambers roams free down the right, who passes it inside to Nelson who elects to cross rather than shoot, but...
82' The shot count is now Arsenal 11 - 13 Chelsea. Arsenal will be disappointed not to get a draw from this game.
81' Drinkwater takes the free-kick which is headed away by Sokratis.
80' Ampadu shows some great feet but is taken out by Guendouzi, who's been imposing himself with and without the ball.

75' CHANCE! Chelsea's midfield gifts it to Lacazette who nutmegs Christensen and is in behind but somehow snatches it wide!

A. Lacazette
P. Aubameyang
71' Aubameyang is replaced up front for Arsenal by Alexandre Lacazette.
71' Mkhitaryan runs directly towards the Chelsea defence but is fouled by Ampadu. Arsenal work it back to him out wide right and Ampadu gives another foul away in the corner.
A. Maitland-Niles
S. Kolašinac
70' Kolašinac signals to be subbed and is replaced by the versatile Ainsley Maitland-Niles.
68' Kolasinac pulls up after giving a foul away against Ampadu. It looks like a recurrence of the problem he had in the first half.
66' Iwobi tries to go around Zappacosta on the wing but Zappacosta stands firm.
64' Abraham goes on a mazy run alone towards the Arsenal defence but they pinch it back. Mkhitaryan has an optimistic shot from outside the box and Caballero dives down to catch it comfortably.

61' Drinkwater makes a run forward from midfield after Bellerin switches off. Christensen tries to find him but he is ruled offside.
60' There's movement on the bench. Chelsea have an extended spell of possession in the middle of the park.
59' Alonso hoofs it forward for Morata down the left-hand channel but Morata doesn't make the run.
58' Aubameyang gets loose in the box and tries to square it, but the ball is turned to safety by Azpilicueta.
57' CHANCE! Pedro's corner from the right meets the head of Rudiger who heads it wide under no pressure at all!
56' Hudson-Odoi whips it into the corridor of uncertainty from the left but Cech reads it well, kicking it clear. Barkley picks it up and has a shot which is blocked, winning Chelsea a corner.
55' Arsenal are on the front foot early in this second half but can they make it count? Guendouzi nearly gets caught out for the second time this game after a short pass to his team-mates. He could get punished for those eventually.
53' Caballero is forced to rush out for a header just outside the area after Smith-Rowe threatens in behind Chelsea's back four. It comes back to Smith-Rowe, who fires the ball towards the far post. Kolasinac shoots from distance but it rises over the bar.
51' Arsenal try to piece an attack together with Ozil as the architect but they have nowhere to go. Chelsea force the ball back to Arsenal's defence with ease.
49' True to their stereotype of ineffectual dominance, Arsenal had 61% possession in the first half but only two shots with none on target. Chelsea finished the half with 39% possession and 10 shots. New managers, same story so far.
47' Morata tries to wriggle his way in behind and Sokratis panics, putting it out. From the corner, Hudson-Odoi tests Cech from distance but Cech catches the ball comfortably.
A. Christensen
David Luiz
46' David Luiz has also come off for Andreas Christensen who had a lot of game time in Chelsea's defence last year.
D. Drinkwater
Cesc Fàbregas
46' Cesc Fàbregas is replaced by Danny Drinkwater in the heart of Chelsea's midfield.
46' The second half gets underway and Chelsea have made two substitutions.
It will be interesting to see whether Arsenal give Hudson-Odoi so much space behind them in the second half. The 17-year-old winger scared them with his pace time after time in the first half, and Arsenal might need to neutralise him if they want to get anything from this game.
That was a fascinating first half in which Chelsea started much the better team and could have gone a few goals ahead before Arsenal really got into gear. Arsenal started stirring towards the end of the half, though, and could have equalised but for Aubameyang's miskick.
45' + 2' HALF-TIME: ARSENAL 0-1 CHELSEA
45' + 1' Morata loses the ball and Arsenal push forward. David Luiz wins the ball and looks to go on the attack but the referee blows the whistle for half-time.
45' There will be one additional minute here.
44' Arsenal are desperate to equalise before half-time. They get another corner after hard work from Bellerin. It's a poor corner and Barkley boots it clear.
43' Arsenal win a corner after Bellerin scrambles the ball to Kolasinac at the far post. Azpilicueta is alert and clears it. The corner leads to nothing.
41' CHANCE AGAIN! Hudson-Odoi gets behind the back of the Arsenal defence once again and finds himself one-on-one with Cech who saves! The ball loops up and looks like it will drop into the net but is headed away by Mustafi before it does.
40' Chelsea are trying to find their footing again with a lot of triangle passing in the middle of the park. Kolasinac makes a late challenge on Pedro and catches his ankle. Foul, but no card.
38' Smith Rowe cleverly back-heels it into the path of Kolasinac, who is tackled fairly by Chelsea as he steams into the box. He stays down for a while but seems to be OK.
36' Arsenal are finding joy on the counter-attack. Bellerin again finds himself with space on the right wing but crosses it too high for an Arsenal forward to reach.
34' Guendouzi has a pop from distance now but it's ambitious and doesn't really test Caballero.
32' What a miss! Arsenal stream forward on the counter-attack and Aubameyang should tap it in at the far post but swings at air!
30' A half-chance for Arsenal! Ozil shows a flash of his quality as Arsenal work it wide right - the cross comes in across goal from Elneny but Rudiger dives low and clears it!
29' Arsenal still have it but it's all being played in front of Chelsea, who are quite content to sit in. Bellerin gets impatient and crosses in only for Chelsea's defence to head it away again.
28' From that spell of possession Smith Rowe gets a strike away from distance but it's way off target.
26' Arsenal are keeping hold of the ball at the back for a bit, trying to establish themselves in the game. Guendouzi gets lucky after having his pocket picked and the ball stays with them.
25' Bellerin bustles his way into the Chelsea box but only manages to foul Alonso and give Chelsea a free-kick. It's a lot of hard work and no product for Arsenal.
24' The save by Cech with his outstretched left foot was fantastic. He's singlehandedly kept Arsenal in the game in this first half hour.
23' CHANCE! Hudson-Odoi races away again on the left-hand side, feeding Morata who shoots, but Cech is equal to it!
23' Arsenal are trying to get a feel in the game but just can't do it so far. The ball gets in the Chelsea box but reaches no one at all.
21' Chelsea have had six shots to Arsenal's zero so far. That gives you a sense of how comfortable Chelsea have been in the first half.
19' Chelsea are putting some flowing passes together, but their latest attack breaks down. Aubameyang drifts to the left and thinks he's won a corner, but it's just a goal-kick.
17' CHANCE! Morata has the opportunity to make up for his penalty miss immediately as he latches onto a cross from the left, but his close-range header is deflected wide.
Álvaro Morata
Penalty Miss
15' Dreadful penalty! That's poor from Morata, who sends a tame spot-kick slightly to the right of Cech, who gets down easily to make a simple stop.
14' PENALTY TO CHELSEA! What a run by Hudson-Odoi, who races onto a pass down the left before driving into the area and drawing a clumsy foul from Bellerin.
13' Unai Emery sides are typically dogged and determined to press high, but so far the Gunners have failed to pressurise Chelsea, with Fabregas and Jorginho pulling the strings from deep.
11' Chelsea are in control here, with Arsenal struggling to deal with the slick passing and movement from Sarri's side in the final third, while Barkley looks to be finding some real form in the heart of midfield.
9' CHANCE! Almost a second for Chelsea! Barkley kick starts the move by threading a ball into Pedro, who finds Fabregas. The Spaniard prods the ball towards goal, but Morata can't quite turn it home.
Cesc Fàbregas
Assist
5' Fabregas delivered the corner from the right wing, having won the set piece himself by testing Cech with a 20-yard drive. The Spanish midfielder is out to impress, also facing his old club, just like goalkeeper Cech!
A. Rüdiger
Goal
5' Chelsea lead! Rudiger was initially being picked up at the back post but the Germany international eluded his marker with a clever piece of movement, timing his run perfectly to power home a header that left Cech with no chance against his old club.
3' Chelsea make their first attack of the game but Alonso, marauding forward from left-back, is caught offside.
2' Both teams are feeling their way into the game, with Arsenal passing it around patiently so far. Ozil has just won a foul on the right touchline.
1' A near full-house in the Aviva Stadium is ready for this. We're ready for this. The referee blows the whistle and we're underway!
A late injury to Aaron Ramsey has led to a start for Emile Smith-Rowe, who scored a fantastic goal against Atletico Madrid last week.
As things stand Arsenal could still win the International Champions Cup - no small feat in a competition featuring 18 teams. Chelsea have one more game to play in the ICC against Lyon next week after the small matter of the Community Shield against Man City.
So there are the two teams for an intriguing London derby that looks very different than it would have done just a few months ago, with both sides having changed manager since the end of last season. Unai Emery and Maurizio Sarri will be looking to end their pre-seasons on a high as they embark on their first Premier League campaigns.
