Abahani Dhaka will be looking to make the most of their home advantage and draw level with Chennaiyin FC at the top of Group E when the South Indian outfit visit them on Wednesday.
They fell to a tough 1-0 loss in the previous fixture, against Chennaiyin, at Ahmedabad. They looked to have done enough to salvage a point in the match a late goal from Anirudh Thapa changed the course of the tie.
They did trouble Chennaiyin with their long ball tactics and will be looking to make the most of it.
Should they pick a win on Wednesday, the Bangladeshi team will stand a good chance of making it to the knockout stage.
John Gregory's Chennaiyin FC currently lead the table with 7 points from three games after back-to-back wins against Manang Marshyangdi and Abahani Dhaka.
Chennaiyin's defence has been on point in the AFC Cup, having kept three consecutive cleansheets. However, they will be tested in unfamiliar conditions in Dhaka as the home team are sure to play a lot of long-balls. Mailson and Eli Savia will have to be on their toes to keep out the likes of Kervens Belfort and co.
Anirudh Thapa has been impressive so far and will once again be the key man in midfield. It remains to be seen if Raphael Augusto is fit enough to play.
A win probably will help them seal the top spot and as such, this match is huge for the Chennai-based team.
