<p>Kaizer Chiefs were narrowly beaten 2-1 by Mamelodi Sundowns in the PSL. Goals by Lucas Ribeiro and Iqraam Rayners in the first half were enough to secure maximum points for the Pretoria-based side. Ranga Chivaviro scored the only goal for Amakhosi, as they fell short for the first time this season. However, the match sparked controversy due to contentious officiating. The second goal from the visitors should not have stood as Ribeiro was offside. Moreover, what looked like an equaliser in the dying minutes for Chiefs by Castillo was judged as a foul.</p>

<p>Nabi expressed his frustration post-match as he hinted that the result could have been different had VAR been in use.</p><p>"I did call the people[refs] it's a clear offside. I'm surprised that in South Africa we work without VAR. It's not possible in Tunisia, Morocco, North Africa and a big country like South Africa, a big federation and national team and we don't with VAR?"
