Ronaldo Brazil 2002 World Cup

How many international trophies have Brazil won?

Brazil are the most decorated team in the history of the FIFA World Cup. They are the only nation to have participated in every edition of the tournament by qualifying directly without the need for play-offs.

The Selecao have won the World Cup a record five times in 1958, 1962, 1970, 1994, and 2002 respectively. The Jules Rimet trophy, which was another name for the World Cup until 1970, was given permanently to them after having won the tournament thrice.

They hold the record of playing the most number of matches (109) in World Cup history along with Germany and have the most number of wins (73) as well.

The nation that spawned talents such as Pele, Ronaldo, and Romario have won the Copa America on nine occasions and are the third-most successful team after Argentina and Uruguay.

Brazil have also won the FIFA Confederations Cup four times, the most by any nation. They were also named the FIFA Team of the Year on 12 occasions, which is another record.
