The National Women's Soccer League announced the 2024 Best XI First Team. The recognition honors the top 22 players in the league and is determined based on a weighted voting scale.
2024 NWSL Best XI First Team
Goalkeeper: Ann-Katrin Berger (Gotham FC)
Defenders: Emily Sams (Orlando Pride), Casey Krueger (Washington Spirit), Kaleigh Kurtz (North Carolina Courage), Jenna Nighswonger (Gotham FC)
Midfielders and Forwards: Temwa Chawinga (Kansas City Current), Barbra Banda (Orlando Pride), Marta (Orlando Pride), Croix Bethune (Washington Spirit), Trinity Rodman (Washington Spirit), Sophia Smith (Portland Thorns)
The first team is comprised of of the league's Golden Boot winner, Temwa Chawinga, and Rookie of the Year, Croix Bethune. Three members of the Orlando Pride, NWSL Shield winner, made the team: Marta, Barbra Banda, and Emily Sams.
2024 NWSL Best XI Second Team
Goalkeeper: Anna Moorhouse (ORL)
Defenders: Naomi Girma (SD), Tara McKeown (WAS), Kerry Abello (ORL), Ryan Williams (NC)
Midfielders and Forwards: Vanessa DiBernardo (KC), Lo’eau LaBonta (KC), Hal Hershfelt (WAS), Esther (GFC), Rose Lavelle (GFC), Yazmeen Ryan (GFC)
Each athlete will receive a cash bonus in recognition of their selection to the Best XI First Team and Best XI Second Team.
