Reported Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates target Lazarous Kambole is not for sale..for now.

This is according to Zambian champions Zesco United's chief executive officer Richard Mulenga, who stated that they cannot afford to sell their star player in the middle of their 2018 Caf Champions League group stage campaign.

The speedy striker is said to have caught the eye of Premier Soccer League (PSL) giants Chiefs and Pirates during the recent 2018 Cosafa Cup in the Limpopo Province.

Kambole hit the back of the net three times for Zambia's Chipolopolo, who were defeated by Zimbabwe in the final of the regional tournament.

“There are a number of team especially from South Africa and the Middle East interested in him,” Mulenga told Lusaka Times.

Pirates currently have two Zambian players Augustine Mulenga and Justin Shonga on the books, while their Soweto rivals Chiefs are expected to beef up their squad ahead of the 2018/19 PSL season.

“But what we have told all of them is we are competing in the league and we are also competing in the Champions League and we wouldn’t want to sell our best players right now," he continued.

Nicknamed Zega Mambo, Zesco are engaged in the Champions league Group D that enters match-day -three on July 17 when they host Angolan side Primeiro de Agosto.

Zega Mambo are currently leading the FAZ Super Division standings heading into the half-way point of the season on 42 points - four more than Green Buffaloes.

The Ndola-based club will only listen to offers for the highly-rated attacker in December 2018 having concluded their Champions League and Super Division campaigns.

“What we have told them is, talk to us in December," he concluded.

The 24-year-old forward has been in great form - scoring six goals for Zambia since making his debut for the national team in January, 2018.
