Yobe Desert Stars’ Abdulmalik returns for Heartland tie

Mohammed Abdulmalik is set for his first Nigeria Professional Football League appearance for Yobe Desert Stars against Heartland.

The striker recovered from typhoid fever and, according to coach Mohammed Babaganaru, is in the 18-man squad to face the Naze Millionaires.

“We have been fortunate that we don’t have injury worries ahead of the game with Heartland and the only player that has been ruled out since the beginning of the season over ailment is now eligible to play and we are including him in our game with Heartland,” Babaganaru told Goal.

“Abdulmalik has been an important member of the team whom we all missed when h was not around. We will take him to Owerri and see how he adjusts to the final training session before we will now ascertain his fitness and readiness for match situations.

“We have lost the two games we have played away from home and we do not want to do the same in Owerri on Sunday. We believe we have the players to get the job done and if they are able to shake off fatigue, we are going to have a great chance against Heartland,” he concluded.

Yobe Desert Stars have six points from four games.
