Mlambo, who joined the Buccaneers from Bidvest Wits during the January 2018 transfer window, managed to established himself as one of the Soweto giants' key players.
"I feel honoured having been given an opportunity to join Orlando Pirates and it has been an unbelievable experience for me," Mlambo told the media.
"Wearing the club jersey is also a great feeling. Since joining the club I have been learning from the technical team," he continued.
The Soweto-born player is enjoying his stay at the Buccaneers, who booked their place in next year's Caf Champions League after finishing second in the league.
"The supporters have been great, so, it is good to be part of such a family. I'm also grateful for having been given the opportunity to play with such talented individuals," Mlambo said.
"I'm willing to continue learning and helping the team going forward," the former Cape Town All Stars player added.
Mlambo played an instrumental role in helping Bucs win and he was rewarded with a man of the match accolade at the end of the game.
"I honestly feel that any of my team-mates deserved to win the man of the match award because we all put in a good shift," he said.
"We saw the youngster (Siphumelele) Mbulu, who had a great game and he also deserved to win the award, while (Thabo) Qalinge and our defence also did well," Mlambo indicated.
"I cannot name them all, but we all we all put in a good effort. I was fortunate to win the award, but it was collective effort," he concluded.
