West Ham United’s Pedro Obiang gets Equatorial Guinea call-up

West Ham United midfielder Pedro Obiang has been invited to the Equatorial Guinea national team.

The former Spanish youth international will join 22 other players in Angel Lopez’s squad for their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualification game against Senegal on November 17.

Obiang, born in Span to Equatoguinean parents, represented Spain at the youth levels [U17, U19 and U21] and had initially declined calls to turn out for the central African nation on several occasions.

The 26-year-old could make his bow at the Estadio de Bata despite Equatorial Guinea's elimination from next year’s continental showpiece n Cameroon.
