Victory began the game on the front and nearly grabbed the lead in the 12th minute after Kosta Barbarouses headed an Ola Toivonen cross onto the woodwork.
That combination would then bear fruit with half an hour played with Barbarouses this time picking out Toivonen in the box and the Swedish striker finishing clinically at the first time of asking.
Just two minutes later Daegu were back level however as Brazilian Cesinha picked out the top right corner with a stunning volley.
Rattled by the swift equaliser, Victory should have gone into halftime ahead as Toivonen teed up Keisuke Honda in the 40th minute only for the Japanese star to shoot straight at the keeper.
After the break Daegu took the lead quickly with Hwang Soon-min's effort taking a big deflection off Storm Roux to leave Lawrence Thomas stranded in the 51st minute.
Full of confidence after going in front, Edgar then doubled Daegu's lead 10 minutes later as he poked the ball home at the near post.
Victory left frustrated in their search for a response with Daegu easing their way to a 3-1 win.
