Victor Osimhen joins Charleroi on loan from Wolfsburg

Victor Osimhen has joined Charleroi from Wolfsburg on a season-long loan.

The forward joined Die Wolfe in 2016 after impressing at the 2015 Fifa U-17 World Cup, committing to a pre-contract agreement which saw him join officially in January 2017, after he turned 18.

The young striker made his debut in May 2017, as a substitute against Borussia Monchengladbach, but a combination of stern competition, poor form and fitness issues have hindered his breakthrough to becoming a vital player at the Volkswagen Arena outfit.

Last season, he made 12 German Bundesliga appearances, with only three coming as starts for Bruno Labbadia’s side. Also, the 19-year-old failed to register a goal.

And in search of regular football, the young marksman will play the 2018-19 campaign in the Belgian top-flight with the Zebras.

Charleroi play Kortrijk in Saturday's league encounter and are placed 11th in the log after picking three points from their opening four games.
