Twumasi powers Astana into Uefa Champions League third round

Patrick Twumasi scored as Astana recorded a 1-1 draw against Spartaks Jurmala in Tuesday's Uefa Champions League second round second leg qualifier.
Twumasi had helped the Blue and Yellows record a 1-0 away victory in the first leg. And against the visitors from Latvia, the Ghanaian put his side ahead in the 59th minute.
The 23-year-old challenged Sergei Pushnyakov for the ball, dashed into Jurmala's defence line before beating goalkeeper Jevgenijs Nerugals with a low shot.

13 minutes later, Edgars Vardanjans pounced on a loose ball outside the hosts' goal area to drill in the equaliser.
Although the match ended in a no winner, no vanquished state at the Astana Arena, that did not threaten Stanimir Stoilov's men from securing a slot to the next round.
They square up against the winners of the tie between IFK Mariehamn and Legia Warszawa in the third round.
