St James' Park isn't usually the first place punters would look for potential transfer activity. Tight purse strings have seen Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez cut a frustrated figure in recent months.
This year though, it appears as though the Magpies could be set for a hectic transfer deadline day.
The well-publicised arrival of Miguel Almiron for a club record fee of around £20 million could be supplemented with two other new faces according to reports. Names being linked with a move to Tyneside include Monaco’s Antonio Barreca and Greek international Andreas Samaris.
"Hopefully we can finish everything on Wednesday," said Benitez earlier in the week regarding the 24-year-old, who was named in the MLS Best XI as Atlanta won the MLS Cup in early December.
William Hill currently make Newcastle 1/2 (1.50) favourites to sign the most players on transfer deadline day, with the window closing at 11pm.
Arsenal are 5/1 (6.0) with Denis Suarez having just completed a loan move to the Emirates from Barcelona, but it looks likely that the Gunners would need to add to that in order to rival Benitez’s side in terms of new signings.
Dead heat rules do apply, so all is not lost if a team you have backed sign the joint-most amount of players.
West Ham have been linked with strikers including Olivier Giroud and Michy Batshuayi as Manuel Pellegrini looks to bolster his attacking options at the London Stadium. The Hammers are 10/1 (11.0) to be the busiest Premier League club.
The odds compilers aren't expecting much movement at title-chasing pair Liverpool and Manchester City though. Both clubs are 33/1 (34.0) in this market together with Manchester United who look set to sell Marouane Fellaini to Chinese club Shandong Luneng.
As well as this market William Hill are betting on the next club of a raft of players including Callum Hudson-Odoi, Danny Drinkwater, Malcom and Adrien Rabiot.
