Thindwa: Kaizer Chiefs need to beef up their squad during the current Transfer Window

Legendary Kaizer Chiefs striker Absalom ‘Scara’ Thindwa believes that his former side need to go and make one or two signings during the current January Transfer Window period.

“Definitely! I am of the opinion that some of the players at Chiefs, they are underachieving or should not be there,” Thindwa told Goal .

Amakhosi are now back in title contention following a barren prior that saw them go eight matches in all competitions without a win and supporters calling for the head of coach Steve Komphela.

“I feel that for Chiefs and the status of the club to remain where it is supposed to be, they need to get one or two more players so that the team can improve and win games,” Thindwa said.

To date, the Glamour Boys have won six, drawn six and lost three in 15 league matches.

They trail the joint league leaders SuperSport United and Bidvest Wits respectively, by a point having played one and two games respectively more than the aforementioned outfits.

Thindwa believes that there are games that he believes Chiefs should have won comfortably, but ended up on the losing side, hence they need strengthening.

“There are some games that I thought they should not have lost. That’s why I believe they need to beef up the squad,” Thindwa concluded.

Amakhosi welcome Free State Stars to the FNB Stadium on February 7 when PSL action resumes for them.
