Liverpool, after a bright start to their UEFA Champions League campaign, had to wait till the final matchday to secure progression to the knockout stages.
They started with a dramatic 3-2 win over PSG on Matchday 1 but followed it up with a 1-0 loss to Napoli. A 4-0 win over Red Star Belgrade seemed to have put them on the front foot again. But consecutive losses to Red Star Belgrade and PSG put them in a precarious position.
But they came up with a vital 1-0 win over Napoli on the final matchday to seal progression.

The likes of Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino have all stepped up at vital moments. So has the defence led by Virgil Van Dijk and Alisson Becker.
