St. Johnstone team-mates sent off for half-time fight

St. Johnstone team-mates Danny Swanson and Richard Foster were sent off for fighting each other in a Scottish Premiership clash with Hamilton.

The contest was goalless at the interval, with the two sides cancelling each other out.

Tempers were, however, to get a little frayed as the players headed back to the dressing rooms.

Punches were thrown as Swanson and Foster exchanged unpleasantries, with both shown straight red cards.

With both prevented from returning for the second half, St Johnstone suddenly found themselves down to nine men.

This is, of course, not the first time that club colleagues have come to blows in the heat of action.

Klopp makes derby history

Lee Bowyer and Kieron Dyer famously clashed while representing Newcastle, while David Batty and Graeme Le Saux also took in an on-field scuffled while with Blackburn.

Swanson and Foster will have plenty of time to reflect on their actions, as they are forced to take in the remainder of the second half from the stands while facing up to impending suspensions.
