Manyama played an instrumental role in the Citizens’ success over the 2016/2017 campaign, and it has subsequently seen him win over many admirers. Most recently, Mamelodi Sundowns’ coach Pitso Mosimane openly expressed his admiration for the 26-year-old, and speculation has been rife ever since, regarding a move to Chloorkop.
Nonetheless, while Manyama is flattered by Sundowns’ reported interest in him, he admitted that a move to Tshwane is just pure speculation for the moment.
“Obviously, it’s a huge honour to hear him say that. I mean‚ he’s the number one coach in Africa‚ no doubt about that‚ for the number one team in Africa,” Manyama told Times Media.
“But look‚ it’s football. When you do well … I’ve had this before at Ajax when I was doing well and then there was Chiefs‚ there was Pirates‚ there was this and that.
“When it’s all speculations‚ it’s OK‚ it doesn’t bother me. And I think up until there is a confirmation from both teams as to what’s happening with my future‚ for now everything is a speculation,” Manyama concluded.
