Sunday’s PSL Wrap: Polokwane and Baroka share the spoils, Highlands Park beat Free State Strars

The Limpop Derby between Polokwane City and Baroka ended in a disappointing goalless draw; a far-cry from last October's thriller which finished 2-2.

Despite the result, the Rise and Shine looked the more promising of the two and threatened every time they went on the attack.

However, they were let down by their poor finishing and decision making from the likes of Rodney Ramagalela and captain Jabulani Maluleke.

The visitors were no pushovers though, as they also fashioned chances of their own.

Their best chance of the game came deep into stoppage time when Helder Pelembe failed to beat George Chigova with a tame header from close range.

In the end, both teams walked away with a point each. Kgoloko Thobejane's men remain 16th on the log with 10 league games to go.

Elsewhere, Highlands Park registered only their third win of the season when they secured a late goal from Mothobi Mvala two minutes from time to beat Free State Stars 1-0 at the Goble Park Stadium.

The defeat comes as a blow to the home side, who got their first win under new coach Serame Letsoaka against Maritzburg United last Sunday.

The Lions of the North needed the points to boost their chances of surviving relegation. They remain second from bottom after 20 league games.
