Sunday Oliseh announces Fortuna Sittard exit

Former Nigeria international Sunday Oliseh has officially announced his exit from Dutch outfit Fortuna Sittard.

The 43-year-old joined the newly promoted Eredivisie side as manager in December 2016 and played a key role in their promotion to the top-flight, though he could not end the season with them after he was suspended by the club’s authority.

However, a court of arbitration resolved the issue, and upon expiration of his deal with the club, the former Juventus midfielder took to the social media to herald his departure from the side while also expressing his appreciation to his supporters and former players.

“Today 1st of May 2018 officially ends my contract with Fortuna Sittard as Chief Coach,” Oliseh tweeted.

“A big thank you to all who helped make this past 17 months a phenomenal success, especially Gino Facenna, Alex Voigt, my players, people of Sittard and all well-wishers. Stay blessed.”
