The veteran playmaker captained the Buccaneers as they secured a commanding 5-1 win over Stars of Seychelles in the 2018 Caf Champions League preliminary round first-leg match.
Makola, who was making his seventh appearance of the season, reflected on the game which was played at the Mecca of South African football, Orlando Stadium in Soweto.
“To be honest with you, I think I was the one that was wearing the captain’s armband but I think there were 11 captains in the team on the field," Makola told the media.
The 32-year-old was deployed in central midfield alongside Linda Mntambo in a game which was dominated by the Soweto giants.
Both players found the back of the net against the 2018 Seychelles League Cup champions with Makola scoring with sublime free-kick in the first half.
"I think everybody came to the party, everybody played a role in the field of play,” the former Free State Stars attacking midfielder continued.
It was Makola's first goal of the season with the skilful player having struggled for game time under Bucs head coach Milutin 'Micho' Sredojevic.
“To be on the scoresheet, I think it’s a huge morale booster for me because I haven’t played in a long time," he added.
Makola feels that the goal has boosted his confidence ahead of Pirates' upcoming matches.
"So, I think this is going to build up my confidence going into the next couple of games,” Makola concluded.
The encounter is set to take place at the Orlando Stadium.
