Stefan Frei has been named the 2016 MLS Cup final MVP.

The Seattle Sounders keeper made seven saves in the match, including a stunner on Jozy Altidore in the second half of extra time that kept the match scoreless.

The game finished scoreless after 120 minutes, with Seattle prevailing 5-4 on penalties. The former TFC keeper also stopped one shot in the shootout, keeping out a Michael Bradley effort, though he did guess right on four of the six penalties.
