Masandawana are five points behind of current log leaders Cape Town City, but Sundowns still hold an advantage as they have several games in hand.
Sundowns fullback Tebogo Langerman said despite their advantage, they will still face tough opposition in their remaining games.
The 30-year-old predicts that the title race will go down to the wire, but states that Sundowns will fight until the very end.
"I think all our remaining league games are the toughest because some of the teams we will be up against are the league title contenders, like Chiefs, SuperSport and Wits," Langerman told Vodacom Soccer.
"And if you look at the teams like Arrows, Maritzburg (United), Pirates and Platinum Stars, they are fighting for a top-eight finish, while the likes of Baroka, Highlands Park, Free State (Stars) are fighting relegation," he said.
"So, there are no easy games at all for us despite of our advantage of games in hand over fellow title contenders, but we are ready to battle it out until to the bitter end, because we have to defend our league title at all costs," Langerman continued.
Pitso Mosimane’s men next take on fellow title contenders Kaizer Chiefs soon after the international break, and Langerman expects sparks to fly when they face off against the Soweto giants.
"There is no doubt that sparks will fly in our game against Chiefs,” Langerman said.
“Besides the fact that it will be a game of the title contenders, but there is a lot at stake whenever these two teams clash,” Langerman concluded.
