Luis Enrique's tenure as manager of Spain began in winning fashion on Saturday evening with a 2-1 success over England at Wembley, with Spanish media particularly impressed by La Roja's intensity in the first half.

It was that kind of energy and intensity that was missing from Spain at the World Cup and Tuesday night seems them face the side that ended this summer's tournament as runners-up.

Croatia played a friendly last week, drawing 1-1 with Portugal, and their visit to the Estadio Martinez Valero this week is a chance for them to cement their place among the elite of world football.

Latest odds

bet365 offer a Spanish victory at 7/10 (1.70) while Croatia can be backed at a healthy looking 5/1 (6.00). The draw is priced at 11/4 (3.75).

Team news

Saul Niguez did not play at the World Cup but was handed a starting berth at Wembley and duly responded with a goal, whilst Iago Aspas also started in London but could be replaced by Alvaro Morata after an ineffectual performance.

Croatia midfielder Ivan Rakitic is likely to start after missing the friendly with Portugal, with the Barcelona player set to win his 100th cap.

At the World Cup, eight different Croatian players got themselves on the scoresheet and Zlatko Dalic's squad still has plenty of options in the final third.

Meanwhile, Spain have kept just two clean sheets in their last ten matches, and even when they were dominant against England in the opening period they still conceded.

The last meeting between Spain and Croatia came in Euro 2016 when the Balkan nation triumphed 2-1, and there could be value in backing goals at both ends once more.

Tips and predictions

Both teams to score is priced at a healthy looking evens (2.00) which seems like an excellent option for the game.

Croatia have also netted first half goals in four of their last five matches and the price of 2/1 (3.00) for them to do so once more is tempting.
