SuperSport United legend Sibusiso Mahlangu says George Lebese needs to live up to expectations at the club.
The attacking midfielder is currently on loan from Matsatsantsa's arch-rivals Mamelodi Sundowns until the end of the season.
“George is extremely talented. You can’t take that away from him,” Mahlangu told The Citizen.
The left-footed player is looking to revive his career at Matsatsantsa following a frustrating spell with the Brazilians.
“At SuperSport, he will play but only if he has character. They need players who are mentally strong," he continued.
Mahlangu played with the club's current coach Kaitano Tembo at Matsatsantsa, and he believes that the Zimbabwean tactician will help Lebese become a better player.
“He (Lebese) needs to have a big heart and be strong because he will need that under Kaitano," the former Bidvest Wits player explained.
"He needs to build character. Remember he has been in football for a long time. So, he needs to lead and not say I am here on loan," he said.
“He must lead from the field and outside the field," the retired midfield maestro concluded.
The 30-year-old made his debut for Matsatsantsa as a second-half substitute during their 3-2 win over Lamintville Golden Arrows two weeks ago.
