Sammy Ameobi has agreed to a new two-year deal with English Championship side Bolton Wanderers.
The forward joined the Macron Stadium outfit in August 2016 for an initial six-month loan deal before he signed permanently, with the deal expiring at the end of the 2017-18 season.
Last term, he played a pivotal role in the Trotters’ survival, featuring in 36 appearances and scoring four goals.
And after penning the new contract, the former Newcastle United man has expressed his delight to remain at the side.
‘It’s great to have signed a new deal because this place means a lot to me. I’m really excited to be back and I can’t wait to get started,” Ameobi told club website.
“I spoke to the manager and he knows me very well. I get on so well with everyone here and it’s such a wonderful environment to work in. That was a huge factor in me wanting to stay here.”
Bolton kickoff their pre-season with tie against St. Mirren on July 7 before they take on Atherton Collieries four days later.
