The race for Jali’s signature is reportedly between Masandawana and Amakhosi and the player could make a decision in the next 48 hours

Former Orlando Pirates midfielder Andile Jali is reportedly close to signing on the dotted line for rivals, Kaizer Chiefs in the next 48-72 hours.

According to his agent Mike Makaab, the midfielder has received to two lucrative offers in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) and will make up his mind sooner rather than later.

The Bafana Bafana midfielder has been linked with moves back to the Buccaneers, Amakhosi and Mamelodi Sundowns, but the latest reports now suggests that he could join the Glamour Boys, as the 1995 African champions reportedly lacked interest in the Matatiele-born player.

Jali parted ways with his Belgian club KV Oostende last month fuelling speculation that he is on his way to one of the 'Big Three' in the domestic scene.

A source close to the IOL  reveals that the 28-year-old is on his way to Naturena and that a deal is imminent.

“I won’t be surprised if Andile Jali signs for Kaizer Chiefs. You must read between the lines,” the source told IOL .

Should Chiefs sign the former University of Pretoria player, it will be seen as a significant signing for the Soweto giants who have endured a three-year barren run under the guidance of ex-coach Steve Komphela.

Speaking to the website, ProSport International’s Makaab confirmed interest from two PSL giants and has revealed that the player is set to decide on two offers which are good financially and career-wise.

“The truth of the matter it is that there are two clubs interested in Andile. Both of them are good offers, career-wise and financially, if you consider that we are in South Africa,” Makaab told the same publication.

“In the next 48 to 72 hours, Andile will make the decision. Our objective is to ensure that Andile finds a new club before the end of the month,” he explained.

“He has to start his programme for the new team,” said the former coach.

“There were five clubs who wanted Andile. SuperSport United and Bidvest Wits were one of those clubs (plus Orlando Pirates),” Makaab continued.

“Andile wants to join a team that will make him happy, win trophies and compete in Caf competitions. He wants to join a club where he is going to enjoy longevity,” he said.

“These are all the things that he needed to take into consideration. I won’t make a decision for Andile, but he will make the decision for himself,” said the ex-Pirates mentor.

“He has two incredible offers. I know I have to disappoint one club and make another one happy - I’m brave though, I have been in this business for a while now,” Makaab concluded.

On the other hand, speculation is rife that Amakhosi are set to release some palyers regarded as dead wood ahead of the new 2018/19 PSL term.

Player such as midfielder Keagan Buchanan, Kgotso Malope, Edmore Chirambadare, Tsepo Masilela and Gustavo Paez are set to be shown the exit door.

Moreover, youngsters such as Emmanuel Letlotlo and Wiseman Meyiwa are set to be loaned out.

Also known as ‘Mhlekazi or Gattuso’, Jali starred for the Sea Robbers between 2009 and 2014 before moving abroad to join Oostende in 2014.
