Despite both sides coming into this cup semi-final off the back of positive league results, we are opposing goals when they meet on Thursday evening

Real Betis host Valencia in the first leg of their Copa del Rey semi-final at the Estadio Benito Villamarin on Thursday.

Both Quique Setien's men and Marcelino Garcia's side come into the game in impressive La Liga form, with Valencia securing a 2-2 draw at Barcelona on Saturday while Betis beat Atletico Madrid 1-0 at home.

Latest odds

Los Verdiblancos have been strong at home this term, suffering just three defeats in the 18 competitive matches they have hosted, and bet365 offer Betis at 27/20 (2.35) to record their tenth win of the season in front of their own fans.

Valencia lost the away leg of both their last 16 clash and their quarter-final of the Copa del Rey. This season, Los Che have won just four away games in all competitions and they are offered at 11/5 (3.20), with the draw available at the same price.

Team news

Valencia have few injury problems, although winger Goncalo Guedes will not be available for the game in Seville. Defender Mouctar Diakhaby is suspended following his red card in the previous round.

Betis, for their part, are likely to have centre-back Marc Barta missing, while midfielder William Carvalho is definitely out.

Despite averaging more possession in La Liga than any other team apart from Barcelona, Betis have struggled to convert dominance in goals this term - with eight teams in La Liga managing more than their total of 26 goals in 22 matches.

Valencia, meanwhile, have seemingly turned a corner in recent matches, managing to score in all five league games in 2019 after an extremely poor opening half of the season in front of goal.

Nevertheless, only four sides in the Primera Division have scored fewer than their total of ten goals away from home.

Tips and predictions

Under 2.5 goals is offered at 3/4 (1.75) and this selection has paid out in 11 of Valencia's last 15 away matches in all competitions. This selection has also proved profitable in nine of Betis' last 13 home games.
