Ghanaian midfielder Sulley Muniru Sariki has joined Portuguese Primeira Liga side CD Tondela in a two-year deal as a free agent.

The 25-year-old saw his contract with Steua Bucharesti mutually terminated in July after he was found guilty of a training ground outburst with a teammate.

"CD Tondola is glad to inform officially that we have reached an agreement with Sulley Muniru after the signing of a contract valid until June 2019," a club statement read.

"Sulley is an average Ghanaian, 25, who was without a club after having represented Romania's Steaua of Bucharest in the last two seasons. Also in Romania, he represented CFR Cluj for three seasons.

"He has been training with the first team since the beginning of the week under Pepa and we wish him all the best of luck during his stay," the statement added.

The younger brother of Ghana international Sulley Ali Muntari had trial with with Polish giants Legia Warsaw and La Liga side Las Palmas, however, he failed to impress the technical handlers.

Tondela sit 12th on the log after 12 games, having picked 12 points and  Muniru is expected to make his debut against Rio Ave this weekend.

Unlike his senior brother, he is yet to earn his first senior national team cap despite showing glimpses of a future prospect at a tender age.
